Darby's Translation

Numbers

20

1 Yn y mis cyntaf daeth holl gynulleidfa pobl Israel i anialwch Sin, ac arhosodd y bobl yn Cades; yno y bu Miriam farw, ac yno y claddwyd hi.
1And the children of Israel, the whole assembly, came into the wilderness of Zin, in the first month; and the people abode at Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.
2 Nid oedd du373?r ar gyfer y gynulleidfa, ac felly ymgynullasant yn erbyn Moses ac Aaron.
2And there was no water for the assembly, and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.
3 Dechreuasant ymryson Moses, a dweud, "O na fyddem ninnau wedi marw pan fu farw ein cymrodyr gerbron yr ARGLWYDD!
3And the people contended with Moses, and spoke, saying, Would that we had died when our brethren died before Jehovah!
4 Pam y daethost chynulleidfa'r ARGLWYDD i'r anialwch hwn i farw gyda'n hanifeiliaid?
4And why have ye brought the congregation of Jehovah into this wilderness, that we should die there, we and our beasts?
5 Pam y daethost ni allan o'r Aifft a'n harwain i'r lle drwg hwn? Nid oes yma rawn, na ffigys, na gwinwydd, na phomgranadau, na hyd yn oed ddu373?r i'w yfed."
5And why have ye made us to go up out of Egypt, to bring us to this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates, neither is there any water to drink.
6 Yna aeth Moses ac Aaron o u373?ydd y gynulleidfa at ddrws pabell y cyfarfod, ac ymgrymu. Ymddangosodd gogoniant yr ARGLWYDD iddynt,
6And Moses and Aaron went from before the congregation to the entrance of the tent of meeting, and fell upon their faces; and the glory of Jehovah appeared to them.
7 a dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses,
7And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
8 "Cymer y wialen, a chynnull y gynulleidfa gyda'th frawd Aaron, ac yn eu gu373?ydd dywed wrth y graig am ddiferu du373?r; yna byddi'n tynnu du373?r o'r graig ar eu cyfer ac yn ei roi i'r gynulleidfa a'i hanifeiliaid i'w yfed."
8Take the staff, and gather the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes, and it shall give its water; and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock, and shalt give the assembly and their beasts drink.
9 Felly cymerodd Moses y wialen oedd o flaen yr ARGLWYDD, fel y gorchmynnwyd iddo.
9And Moses took the staff from before Jehovah, as he had commanded him.
10 Cynullodd Moses ac Aaron y gynulleidfa o flaen y graig, a dweud wrthynt, "Gwrandewch, yn awr, chwi wrthryfelwyr; a ydych am inni dynnu du373?r i chwi allan o'r graig hon?"
10And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said to them, Hear now, ye rebels: shall we bring forth to you water out of this rock?
11 Yna cododd Moses ei law, ac wedi iddo daro'r graig ddwywaith 'i wialen, daeth llawer o ddu373?r allan, a chafodd y gynulleidfa a'u hanifeiliaid yfed ohono.
11And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his staff smote the rock twice, and much water came out, and the assembly drank, and their beasts.
12 Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses ac Aaron, "Am i chwi beidio chredu ynof, na'm sancteiddio yng ngu373?ydd pobl Israel, ni fyddwch yn dod 'r gynulleidfa hon i mewn i'r wlad a roddais iddynt."
12And Jehovah said to Moses and to Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to hallow me before the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land that I have given them.
13 Dyma ddyfroedd Meriba, lle y bu'r Israeliaid yn ymryson 'r ARGLWYDD, a lle y datguddiodd ei hun yn sanctaidd iddynt.
13These are the waters of Meribah, where the children of Israel contended with Jehovah, and he hallowed himself in them.
14 Anfonodd Moses genhadon o Cades at frenin Edom i ddweud, "Dyma a ddywed dy frawd Israel: 'Fe wyddost am yr holl helbulon a ddaeth i'n rhan,
14And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, Thus says thy brother Israel: Thou knowest all the trouble that hath befallen us,
15 sut yr aeth ein hynafiaid i lawr i'r Aifft, sut y buom yn byw yno am amser maith, a sut y cawsom ni a'n hynafiaid ein cam-drin gan yr Eifftiaid;
15how our fathers went down to Egypt, and we dwelt in Egypt a long time, and the Egyptians evil entreated us and our fathers;
16 ond pan waeddasom ar yr ARGLWYDD, fe glywodd ein cri, ac anfonodd angel i'n harwain allan o'r Aifft.
16and when we cried to Jehovah, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and brought us forth out of Egypt; and behold, we are at Kadesh, a city at the extremity of thy border.
17 A dyma ni yn Cades, dinas sydd yn ymyl dy diriogaeth di. Yn awr, gad inni fynd trwy dy wlad; nid ydym am fynd trwy dy gaeau a'th winllannoedd, nac am yfed du373?r o'r ffynhonnau, ond fe gadwn at briffordd y brenin, heb droi i'r dde na'r chwith, nes inni fynd trwy dy diriogaeth.'"
17Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country; we will not pass through fields, or through vineyards, neither will we drink water out of the wells: we will go by the king's road; we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy border.
18 Ond dywedodd Edom wrtho, "Ni chei fynd trwodd, neu fe ddof yn dy erbyn chleddyf."
18But Edom said to him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.
19 Dywedodd pobl Israel wrtho, "Nid ydym am fynd ond ar hyd y briffordd, ac os byddwn ni a'n hanifeiliaid yn yfed dy ddu373?r, fe dalwn amdano; ni wnawn ddim ond cerdded trwodd."
19And the children of Israel said to him, We will go by the high way; and if we drink of thy water, I and my cattle, then I will pay for it: I will only, without anything else, go through on my feet.
20 Ond dywedodd ef, "Ni chei di ddim mynd." Daeth Edom allan yn eu herbyn gyda byddin fawr o ddynion,
20And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.
21 a gwrthododd adael i Israel fynd trwy ei dir; felly fe drodd Israel ymaith oddi wrtho.
21Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory; and Israel turned away from him.
22 Aeth holl gynulleidfa pobl Israel o Cades, a chyrraedd Mynydd Hor.
22And they removed from Kadesh; and the children of Israel, the whole assembly, came to mount Hor.
23 Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses ac Aaron ym Mynydd Hor, a oedd ar derfyn gwlad Edom,
23And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron in mount Hor, on the border of the land of Edom, saying,
24 "Cesglir Aaron at ei bobl; ni chaiff fynd i mewn i'r wlad a roddais i bobl Israel, am i chwi wrthryfela yn erbyn fy ngorchymyn wrth ddyfroedd Meriba.
24Aaron shall be gathered unto his peoples; for he shall not enter into the land that I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my commandment at the waters of Meribah.
25 Felly tyrd ag Aaron a'i fab Eleasar i fyny Mynydd Hor,
25Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor,
26 a chymer y wisg oddi am Aaron a'i rhoi am ei fab Eleasar; yna bydd Aaron yn cael ei gasglu at ei bobl, ac yn marw yno."
26and strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron shall be gathered [to his peoples], and shall die there.
27 Gwnaeth Moses fel y gorchmynnodd yr ARGLWYDD, ac aethant i fyny Mynydd Hor, a'r holl gynulleidfa yn eu gwylio.
27And Moses did as Jehovah had commanded, and they went up mount Hor before the eyes of the whole assembly.
28 Cymerodd Moses y wisg oddi am Aaron a'i rhoi am ei fab Eleasar, a bu Aaron farw yno ar ben y mynydd.
28And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there upon the top of the mountain; and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.
29 Yna daeth Moses ac Eleasar i lawr o ben y mynydd, a phan sylweddolodd yr holl gynulleidfa fod Aaron wedi marw, wylodd holl du375? Israel amdano am ddeg diwrnod ar hugain.
29And the whole assembly saw that Aaron was dead, and they mourned for Aaron thirty days, [even] the whole house of Israel.
