2 oni bai i'r ARGLWYDD fod o'n tu pan gododd rhai yn ein herbyn,
2If it had not been Jehovah who was for us, when men rose up against us,
3 byddent wedi'n llyncu'n fyw wrth i'w llid losgi tuag atom;
3Then they had swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us;
4 byddai'r dyfroedd wedi'n cario ymaith a'r llif wedi mynd dros ein pennau;
4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, a torrent had gone over our soul;
5 ie, drosom yr �i dygyfor y tonnau.
5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6 Bendigedig fyddo'r ARGLWYDD am iddo beidio �'n rhoi yn ysglyfaeth i'w dannedd.
6Blessed be Jehovah, who gave us not up a prey to their teeth!
7 Yr ydym wedi dianc fel aderyn o fagl yr heliwr; torrodd y fagl, yr ydym ninnau'n rhydd.
7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we have escaped.
8 Ein cymorth sydd yn enw'r ARGLWYDD, creawdwr nefoedd a daear.
8Our help is in the name of Jehovah, the maker of heavens and earth.
