44

1 1 I'r Cyfarwyddwr: i feibion Cora. Mascl.0 O Dduw, clywsom 'n clustiau, dywedodd ein hynafiaid wrthym am y gwaith a wnaethost yn eu dyddiau hwy, yn y dyddiau gynt 'th law dy hun.
1{To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. An instruction.} O God, with our ears have we heard, our fathers have told us, the work thou wroughtest in their days, in the days of old:
2 Gyrraist genhedloedd allan, ond eu plannu hwy; difethaist bobloedd, ond eu llwyddo hwy;
2Thou, by thy hand, didst dispossess the nations, but them thou didst plant; thou didst afflict the peoples, but them didst thou cause to spread out.
3 oherwydd nid 'u cleddyf y cawsant y tir, ac nid 'u braich y cawsant fuddugoliaeth, ond trwy dy ddeheulaw a'th fraich di, a llewyrch dy wyneb, am dy fod yn eu hoffi.
3For not by their own sword did they take possession of the land, neither did their own arm save them; but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst delight in them.
4 Ti yw fy Mrenin a'm Duw, ti sy'n rhoi buddugoliaeth i Jacob.
4Thou thyself art my king, O God: command deliverance for Jacob.
5 Trwot ti y darostyngwn ein gelynion, trwy dy enw y sathrwn ein gwrthwynebwyr.
5Through thee will we push down our adversaries; through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
6 Oherwydd nid yn fy mwa yr ymddiriedaf, ac nid fy nghleddyf a'm gwareda.
6For I will not put confidence in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
7 Ond ti a'n gwaredodd rhag ein gelynion a chywilyddio'r rhai sy'n ein casu.
7For thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.
8 Yn Nuw yr ydym erioed wedi ymffrostio, a chlodforwn dy enw am byth. Sela.
8In God will we boast all the day, and we will praise thy name for ever. Selah.
9 Ond yr wyt wedi'n gwrthod a'n darostwng, ac nid ei allan mwyach gyda'n byddinoedd.
9But thou hast cast off, and put us to confusion, and dost not go forth with our armies;
10 Gwnei inni gilio o flaen y gelyn, a chymerodd y rhai sy'n ein casu yr ysbail.
10Thou hast made us to turn back from the adversary, and they that hate us spoil for themselves;
11 Gwnaethost ni fel defaid i'w lladd, a'n gwasgaru ymysg y cenhedloedd.
11Thou hast given us over like sheep [appointed] for meat, and hast scattered us among the nations;
12 Gwerthaist dy bobl am y nesaf peth i ddim, ac ni chefaist elw o'r gwerthiant.
12Thou hast sold thy people for nought, and hast not increased [thy wealth] by their price;
13 Gwnaethost ni'n warth i'n cymdogion, yn destun gwawd a dirmyg i'r rhai o'n hamgylch.
13Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a mockery and a derision for them that are round about us;
14 Gwnaethost ni'n ddihareb ymysg y cenhedloedd, ac y mae'r bobloedd yn ysgwyd eu pennau o'n plegid.
14Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
15 Y mae fy ngwarth yn fy wynebu beunydd, ac yr wyf wedi fy ngorchuddio chywilydd
15All the day my confusion is before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
16 o achos llais y rhai sy'n fy ngwawdio a'm difro, ac oherwydd y gelyn a'r dialydd.
16Because of the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the avenger.
17 Daeth hyn i gyd arnom, a ninnau heb dy anghofio na bod yn anffyddlon i'th gyfamod.
17All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely against thy covenant:
18 Ni throdd ein calon oddi wrthyt, ac ni chamodd ein traed o'th lwybrau,
18Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy path;
19 i beri iti ein hysigo yn nhrigfa'r siacal a'n gorchuddio thywyllwch dudew.
19Though thou hast crushed us in the place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20 Pe baem wedi anghofio enw ein Duw ac estyn ein dwylo at dduw estron,
20If we had forgotten the name of our God, and stretched out our hands to a strange ùgod,
21 oni fyddai Duw wedi canfod hyn? Oherwydd gu373?yr ef gyfrinachau'r galon.
21Would not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
22 Ond er dy fwyn di fe'n lleddir drwy'r dydd, a'n trin fel defaid i'w lladd.
22But for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are reckoned as sheep for slaughter.
23 Ymysgwyd! pam y cysgi, O Arglwydd? Deffro! paid 'n gwrthod am byth.
23Awake, why sleepest thou, Lord? arise, cast [us] not off for ever.
24 Pam yr wyt yn cuddio dy wyneb ac yn anghofio'n hadfyd a'n gorthrwm?
24Wherefore hidest thou thy face, [and] forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
25 Y mae ein henaid yn ymostwng i'r llwch, a'n cyrff yn wastad 'r ddaear.
25For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
26 Cyfod i'n cynorthwyo. Gwareda ni er mwyn dy ffyddlondeb.
26Rise up for our help, and redeem us for thy loving-kindness' sake.
