1 Yna dywedodd ei mam-yng-nghyfraith Naomi wrthi, "Fy merch, oni ddylwn i chwilio am gartref iti, er dy les?
1And Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?
2 Yn awr, onid perthynas i ni yw Boas, y buost gyda'i lancesau?
2And now, is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he is winnowing barley in the threshing-floor to-night.
3 Edrych, y mae ef yn mynd i nithio haidd yn y llawr dyrnu heno. Wedi iti ymolchi ac ymbincio a rhoi dy wisg orau amdanat, dos at y llawr dyrnu, ond paid gadael iddo d'adnabod nes iddo orffen bwyta ac yfed.
3Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thyself, and put thy raiment upon thee, and go down to the floor; make not thyself known to the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
4 Pan i orwedd, sylwa ymhle y mae'n cysgu, yna dos a chodi'r dillad o gwmpas ei draed a gorwedd i lawr. Wedyn fe ddywed ef wrthyt beth i'w wneud."
4And it shall be, when he lies down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall have lain down, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thyself down; and he will shew thee what thou shalt do.
5 Cytunodd hithau i wneud y cwbl a ddywedodd Naomi wrthi.
5And she said to her, All that thou sayest will I do.
6 Aeth at y llawr dyrnu, a gwneud yn union fel yr oedd ei mam-yng-nghyfraith wedi gorchymyn iddi.
6And she went down to the floor, and did according to all that her mother-in-law had bidden her.
7 Wedi i Boas fwyta ac yfed, yr oedd yn teimlo'n hapus, ac aeth i gysgu yng nghwr y pentwr u375?d. Daeth hithau'n ddistaw a chodi'r dillad o gwmpas ei draed, a gorwedd i lawr.
7And Boaz ate and drank, and his heart was merry, and he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn. Then she went softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid herself down.
8 Tua hanner nos cyffrdd y dyn a throi, ac yno'n gorwedd wrth ei draed yr oedd merch.
8And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was startled, and turned himself; and behold, a woman lay at his feet.
9 "Pwy wyt ti?" gofynnodd. Atebodd hithau, "Dy forwyn Ruth; taena gwr dy fantell dros dy forwyn, oherwydd yr wyt ti'n berthynas agos."
9And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth, thy handmaid: spread thy skirt over thy handmaid; for thou hast the right of redemption.
10 Yna dywedodd wrthi, "Bendith yr ARGLWYDD arnat, fy merch; y mae'r teyrngarwch olaf hwn gennyt yn rhagori ar y cyntaf, am iti beidio mynd ar l y dynion ifainc, boent dlawd neu gyfoethog.
10And he said, Blessed be thou of Jehovah, my daughter! Thou hast shewn more kindness at the end than at the first, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.
11 Yn awr, fy merch, paid ag ofni; fe wnaf iti bopeth yr wyt yn ei ddweud, oherwydd y mae pawb o'm cymdogion yn gwybod dy fod yn ferch deilwng.
11And now, my daughter, fear not: all that thou sayest will I do to thee; for all the gate of my people knows that thou art a woman of worth.
12 Yn awr, y mae'n hollol wir fy mod yn berthynas agos, ond y mae un arall sy'n nes na mi.
12And now, truly I am one that has the right of redemption, yet there is one that has the right of redemption who is nearer than I.
13 Aros yma heno; ac yfory, os bydd ef am weithredu fel perthynas, popeth yn iawn; gwnaed hynny. Ond os nad yw'n barod i wneud hynny, yna fe wnaf fi, cyn wired bod yr ARGLWYDD yn fyw. Cwsg tan y bore."
13Stay over to-night, and it shall be in the morning, if he will redeem thee, well -- let him redeem; but if he like not to redeem thee, then will I redeem thee, [as] Jehovah liveth. Lie down until the morning.
14 Cysgodd hithau wrth ei draed tan y bore; yna fe gododd, cyn y gallai neb adnabod ei gilydd. Yr oedd ef wedi gorchymyn nad oedd neb i wybod bod y ferch wedi dod i'r llawr dyrnu.
14And she lay at his feet until the morning; and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the threshing-floor.
15 Ac meddai wrthi, "Estyn y fantell sydd amdanat, a dal hi." A thra oedd hi yn ei dal, mesurodd yntau iddi chwe mesur o haidd a'i osod ar ei hysgwydd, ac aeth hithau i'r dref.
15And he said, Bring the cloak that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And she held it, and he measured six [measures] of barley, and laid [it] on her; and he went into the city.
16 Wedi iddi gyrraedd gofynnodd ei mam-yng-nghyfraith, "Sut y bu hi gyda thi, fy merch?" Adroddodd hithau wrthi'r cwbl a wnaeth y dyn iddi.
16And she came to her mother-in-law; and she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
17 Dywedodd, "Rhoddodd imi'r chwe mesur hyn o haidd oherwydd, meddai wrthyf, 'Ni chei fynd yn waglaw at dy fam-yng-nghyfraith'."
17And she said, These six [measures] of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty to thy mother-in-law.
18 Yna dywedodd Naomi, "Aros, fy merch, nes y cei wybod sut y try pethau; oherwydd ni fydd y dyn yna'n gorffwys cyn gorffen y mater heddiw."
18Then she said, Be still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall; for the man will not rest until he have completed the matter this day.
