1 Adeiladodd Dafydd dai iddo'i hun yn Ninas Dafydd, a pharatoi lle i arch Duw a gosod pabell iddi.
1David made him houses in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
2 Yna dywedodd, "Nid oes neb i gario arch Duw ond y Lefiaid, oherwydd hwy a ddewiswyd gan yr ARGLWYDD i'w chario ac i'w wasanaethu ef am byth."
2Then David said, “No one ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites. For Yahweh has chosen them to carry the ark of God, and to minister to him forever.”
3 Cynullodd Dafydd Israel gyfan i Jerwsalem, i ddod ag arch yr ARGLWYDD i fyny i'r lle yr oedd wedi ei baratoi iddi.
3David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh to its place, which he had prepared for it.
4 Casglodd feibion Aaron a'r Lefiaid:
4David gathered together the sons of Aaron, and the Levites:
5 o feibion Cohath, Uriel y pennaeth a chant ac ugain o'i frodyr;
5of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brothers one hundred twenty;
6 o feibion Merari, Asaia y pennaeth a dau gant ac ugain o'i frodyr;
6of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred twenty;
7 o feibion Gersom, Joel y pennaeth a chant a thri deg o'i frodyr;
7of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and his brothers one hundred thirty;
8 o feibion Elisaffan, Semaia y pennaeth a dau gant o'i frodyr;
8of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred;
9 o feibion Hebron, Eliel y pennaeth a phedwar ugain o'i frodyr;
9of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brothers eighty;
10 o feibion Ussiel, Amminadab y pennaeth a chant a deuddeg o'i frodyr.
10of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and his brothers one hundred twelve.
11 Yna galwodd Dafydd am Sadoc ac Abiathar yr offeiriaid, ac am y Lefiaid, Uriel, Asaia, Joel, Semaia, Eliel ac Amminadab,
11David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
12 a dywedodd wrthynt, "Chwi yw pennau-teuluoedd y Lefiaid. Sancteiddiwch eich hunain, chwi a'ch brodyr, i fynd ag arch ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel i'r lle a baratoais iddi.
12and said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers’ households of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, both you and your brothers, that you may bring up the ark of Yahweh, the God of Israel, to the place that I have prepared for it.
13 Am nad oeddech chwi gyda ni y tro cyntaf, ac na fuom ninnau yn ymgynghori ag ef ynglu375?n �'i drefn, fe dorrodd yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw allan i'n herbyn."
13For because you didn’t carry it at first, Yahweh our God made broke out against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”
14 Felly sancteiddiodd yr offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid eu hunain i ddod ag arch ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel i fyny.
14So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
15 Ac fe gludodd y Lefiaid arch Duw ar eu hysgwyddau � pholion, fel y gorchmynnodd Moses yn �l gair yr ARGLWYDD.
15The children of the Levites bore the ark of God on their shoulders with the poles thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of Yahweh.
16 Rhoddodd Dafydd orchymyn i benaethiaid y Lefiaid osod eu brodyr yn gerddorion i ganu mawl yn llawen gydag offer cerdd, sef nablau, telynau a symbalau.
16David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers the singers, with instruments of music, stringed instruments and harps and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up the voice with joy.
17 Felly etholodd y Lefiaid Heman fab Joel ac, o'i frodyr, Asaff fab Berecheia; a hefyd Ethnan fab Cusaia o blith eu brodyr, meibion Merari.
17So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brothers, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brothers, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
18 A chyda hwy eu brodyr o'r ail radd: y porthorion Sechareia, Jaasiel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaia, Maaseia, Matitheia, Eliffele, Micneia, Obed-edom a Jehiel.
18and with them their brothers of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers.
19 Heman, Asaff ac Ethan, y cerddorion, oedd i seinio'r symbalau pres.
19So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were given cymbals of brass to sound aloud;
20 Sechareia, Asiel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseia a Benaia oedd i ganu nablau ar Alamoth.
20and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with stringed instruments set to Alamoth;
21 Matitheia, Eliffele, Micneia, Obed-edom, Jehiel ac Asaseia oedd i ganu'r telynau ac arwain ar Seminith.
21and Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps tuned to the eight-stringed lyre, to lead.
22 Chenaneia, pennaeth y Lefiaid, oedd yn gofalu am y canu, ac ef oedd yn ei ddysgu i eraill am ei fod yn hyddysg ynddo.
22Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the song: he instructed about the song, because he was skillful.
23 Berecheia ac Elcana oedd i fod yn borthorion i'r arch.
23Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
24 Sebaneia, Jehosaffat, Nathaneel, Amisai, Sechareia, Benaia ac Elieser, yr offeiriaid, oedd i ganu'r trwmpedau o flaen arch Duw; yr oedd Obed-edom a Jeheia hefyd i fod yn borthorion i'r arch.
24Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-Edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
25 Felly aeth Dafydd a henuriaid Israel a phenaethiaid y miloedd i ddod ag arch cyfamod yr ARGLWYDD i fyny o du375? Obed-edom mewn llawenydd.
25So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the house of Obed-Edom with joy.
26 Ac am i Dduw gynorthwyo'r Lefiaid oedd yn cario arch cyfamod yr ARGLWYDD, aberthasant saith o fustych a saith o hyrddod.
26It happened, when God helped the Levites who bore the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, that they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
27 Yr oedd Dafydd wedi ei wisgo mewn lliain main, ac felly hefyd yr holl Lefiaid oedd yn cario'r arch, a'r cerddorion a'u pennaeth Chenaneia. Yr oedd gan Ddafydd effod liain hefyd.
27David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites who bore the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: and David had on him an ephod of linen.
28 Yr oedd holl Israel yn hebrwng arch cyfamod yr ARGLWYDD � banllefau a sain utgorn, ac yn canu trwmpedau, symbalau, nablau a thelynau.
28Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with stringed instruments and harps.
29 Pan gyrhaeddodd arch cyfamod yr ARGLWYDD Ddinas Dafydd, yr oedd Michal merch Saul yn edrych drwy'r ffenestr, a gwelodd y Brenin Dafydd yn dawnsio ac yn gorfoleddu, a dirmygodd ef yn ei chalon.
29It happened, as the ark of the covenant of Yahweh came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.
