¹ Ar �l hyn digwyddodd fod gwinllan gan Naboth y Jesreeliad yn Jesreel ar gwr palas Ahab brenin Samaria.

¹It happened after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

² A dywedodd Ahab wrth Naboth, "Rho dy winllan i mi i fod yn ardd lysiau, gan ei bod mor agos i'm tu375?; a rhof iti'n gyfnewid winllan well na hi. Neu, os yw'n well gennyt, rhof iti ei gwerth mewn arian."

²Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, “Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near to my house; and I will give you for it a better vineyard than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.”

³ Dywedodd Naboth wrth Ahab, "Yr ARGLWYDD a'm gwaredo rhag rhoi i ti etifeddiaeth fy hynafiaid."

³Naboth said to Ahab, “May Yahweh forbid me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!”

⁴ Dychwelodd Ahab i'w du375? yn ddigalon a dig am i Naboth y Jesreeliad ateb, "Ni roddaf iti etifeddiaeth fy hynafiaid." Bwriodd ei hun ar ei wely, a throi ei wyneb draw a gwrthod bwyta.

⁴Ahab came into his house sullen and angry because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him; for he had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” He laid himself down on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.

⁵ Daeth ei wraig Jesebel ato a gofyn iddo, "Pam yr wyt yn ddi-hwyl dy ysbryd ac yn gwrthod bwyta?"

⁵But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him, “Why is your spirit so sad, that you eat no bread?”

⁶ Atebodd yntau, "Dywedais wrth Naboth y Jesreeliad, 'Rho dy winllan i mi am arian; neu, os dewisi, rhof iti winllan yn ei lle.' Ac atebodd, 'Ni roddaf fy ngwinllan iti.'"

⁶He said to her, “Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him, ‘Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for it.’ He answered, ‘I will not give you my vineyard.’”

⁷ A dywedodd Jesebel wrtho, "Dangos yn awr mai ti yw'r brenin yn Israel. Cod, bwyta, cod dy galon, fe roddaf fi winllan Naboth y Jesreeliad iti."

⁷Jezebel his wife said to him, “Do you now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise, and eat bread, and let your heart be merry. I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”

⁸ Ysgrifennodd lythyrau yn enw Ahab, a'u selio �'i s�l, a'u hanfon at yr henuriaid a'r uchelwyr oedd yn byw yn yr un ddinas � Naboth.

⁸So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and to the nobles who were in his city, who lived with Naboth.

⁹ Yn y llythyrau yr oedd wedi ysgrifennu, "Cyhoeddwch ympryd, a gosodwch Naboth i fyny o flaen y bobl,

⁹She wrote in the letters, saying, “Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.

¹⁰ a dau ddihiryn i dystio yn ei erbyn, 'Yr wyt ti wedi melltithio Duw a'r brenin.' Yna ewch ag ef allan a'i labyddio'n gelain."

¹⁰Set two men, base fellows, before him, and let them testify against him, saying, ‘You cursed God and the king!’ Then carry him out, and stone him to death.”

¹¹ A gwnaed � Naboth gan yr henuriaid a'r uchelwyr oedd yn byw yn yr un ddinas ag ef yn union fel y gorchmynnodd Jesebel yn y llythyrau a ysgrifennodd atynt.

¹¹The men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, according as it was written in the letters which she had sent to them.

¹² Wedi cyhoeddi ympryd, gosodasant Naboth i fyny o flaen y bobl,

¹²They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.

¹³ a daeth y ddau ddihiryn ac eistedd o'i flaen, a thystio yn erbyn Naboth gerbron y bobl a dweud, "Y mae Naboth wedi melltithio Duw a'r brenin." Aed ag ef y tu allan i'r ddinas a'i labyddio � cherrig nes iddo farw.

¹³The two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him. The base fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, “Naboth cursed God and the king!” Then they carried him out of the city, and stoned him to death with stones.

¹⁴ Yna anfonasant neges at Jesebel: "Mae Naboth wedi ei labyddio ac wedi marw."

¹⁴Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, “Naboth has been stoned, and is dead.”

¹⁵ Cyn gynted ag y clywodd Jesebel fod Naboth wedi ei labyddio'n gelain, dywedodd wrth Ahab, "Cod, meddianna'r winllan y gwrthododd Naboth y Jesreeliad ei hildio iti am arian. Nid yw Naboth yn fyw; y mae wedi marw."

¹⁵It happened, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, “Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead.”

¹⁶ A phan glywodd Ahab fod Naboth wedi marw, aeth i lawr i winllan Naboth y Jesreeliad i'w meddiannu.

¹⁶It happened, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.

¹⁷ Daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD at Elias y Thesbiad a dweud,

¹⁷The word of Yahweh came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

¹⁸ "Cod, a dos i lawr i gyfarfod Ahab brenin Israel yn Samaria. Fe'i cei yng ngwinllan Naboth; y mae wedi mynd yno i'w meddiannu.

¹⁸“Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who dwells in Samaria. Behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it.

¹⁹ Dywed wrtho, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: "Wedi llofruddio, a fynni di hefyd feddiannu?"' Dywed hefyd wrtho, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: "Lle y llyfodd y cu373?n waed Naboth, fe lyfant dy waed dithau."'"

¹⁹You shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “Have you killed and also taken possession?”’ You shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs will lick your blood, even yours.”’”

²⁰ Dywedodd Ahab wrth Elias, "A ddaethost o hyd i mi, fy ngelyn?" Atebodd yntau, "Do; ac am dy fod wedi ymroi i wneud drwg yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD,

²⁰Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in the sight of Yahweh.

²¹ rwyf yn dwyn drwg arnat ti, ac yn dileu dy hiliogaeth; difodaf bob gwryw yn perthyn i Ahab yn Israel, caeth a rhydd.

²¹Behold, I will bring evil on you, and will utterly sweep you away and will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, or, male and him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

²² Gwnaf dy du375? fel tu375? Jeroboam fab Nebat a thu375? Baasa fab Aheia, oherwydd y dicter a achosaist wrth beri i Israel bechu.

²²I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah for the provocation with which you have provoked me to anger, and have made Israel to sin.”

²³ Ac am Jesebel, fe ddywed yr ARGLWYDD, 'Y cu373?n fydd yn bwyta Jesebel wrth fur Jesreel.'

²³Yahweh also spoke of Jezebel, saying, “The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel.

²⁴ Bydd y cu373?n yn bwyta pob aelod o deulu Ahab a fydd farw yn y dref, ac adar rheibus yn bwyta pob un a fydd farw allan yn y wlad."

²⁴The dogs will eat he who dies of Ahab in the city; and the birds of the sky will eat he who dies in the field.”

²⁵ Eto ni bu neb cynddrwg ag Ahab mewn ymroi i wneud drwg yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD, am fod Jesebel ei wraig yn ei annog.

²⁵But there was none like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

²⁶ Gwnaeth yn ffiaidd iawn trwy addoli eilunod, yn hollol fel y gwn�i'r Amoriaid a yrrodd yr ARGLWYDD allan o flaen yr Israeliaid.

²⁶He did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.

²⁷ Cyn gynted ag y clywodd Ahab eiriau Elias, rhwygodd ei ddillad a gwisgo sachliain ar ei gnawd, ac ymprydio, a chysgu ar sachliain, a cherdded yn araf.

²⁷It happened, when Ahab heard those words, that he tore his clothes, and put sackcloth on his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

²⁸ Daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD at Elias y Thesbiad yn dweud,

²⁸The word of Yahweh came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

²⁹ "A sylwaist ti fod Ahab wedi ymostwng ger fy mron? Gan ei fod wedi ymostwng ger fy mron, nid wyf am ddod �'r drwg yn ei ddyddiau ef; yn nyddiau ei fab y dygaf y drwg ar ei deulu."

²⁹“See how Ahab humbles himself before me? Because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days; but in his son’s days will I bring the evil on his house.”
