¹ Dyma air i'w gredu: "Pwy bynnag sydd �'i fryd ar swydd arolygydd, y mae'n chwennych gwaith rhagorol."

¹This is a faithful saying: if a man seeks the office of an overseer or, superintendents, or bishops , he desires a good work.

² Felly, rhaid i arolygydd fod heb nam ar ei gymeriad, yn u373?r i un wraig, yn ddyn sobr, disgybledig, anrhydeddus, lletygar, ac yn athro da.

²The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;

³ Rhaid iddo beidio � bod yn rhy hoff o win, nac yn rhy barod i daro. I'r gwrthwyneb, dylai fod yn ystyriol a heddychlon a diariangar.

³not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;

⁴ Dylai fod yn un a chanddo reolaeth dda ar ei deulu, ac yn cadw ei blant yn ufudd, � phob gwedduster.

⁴one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;

⁵ Os nad yw rhywun yn medru rheoli ei deulu ei hun, sut y mae'n mynd i ofalu am eglwys Dduw?

⁵(but if a man doesn’t know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the assembly of God?)

⁶ Rhaid iddo beidio � bod yn newydd i'r ffydd, rhag iddo droi'n falch a chwympo dan y condemniad a gafodd y diafol.

⁶not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.

⁷ A dylai fod yn un � gair da iddo gan y byd oddi allan, rhag iddo gwympo i waradwydd a chael ei ddal ym magl y diafol.

⁷Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into reproach and the snare of the devil.

⁸ Yn yr un modd, rhaid i ddiaconiaid ennyn parch; nid yn ddauwynebog, nac yn drachwantus am win, nac yn chwennych elw anonest.

⁸ Servants or, Deacons. , in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money;

⁹ A dylent ddal eu gafael ar ddirgelwch y ffydd gyda chydwybod bur.

⁹holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

¹⁰ Dylid eu rhoi hwythau ar brawf ar y cychwyn, ac yna, o'u cael yn ddi-fai, caniat�u iddynt wasanaethu.

¹⁰Let them also first be tested; then let them serve or, serve as deacons if they are blameless.

¹¹ Yn yr un modd dylai eu gwragedd fod yn weddus, yn ddiwenwyn, yn sobr, ac yn ffyddlon ym mhob dim.

¹¹Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.

¹² Rhaid i bob diacon fod yn u373?r i un wraig, a chanddo reolaeth dda ar ei blant a'i deulu ei hun.

¹²Let servants or, deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

¹³ Oherwydd y mae'r rhai a gyflawnodd waith da fel diaconiaid yn ennill iddynt eu hunain safle da, a hyder mawr ynglu375?n �'r ffydd sy'n eiddo i ni yng Nghrist Iesu.

¹³For those who have served well or, served well as deacons gain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁴ Yr wyf yn gobeithio dod atat cyn hir, ond rhag ofn y caf fy rhwystro, yr wyf yn ysgrifennu'r llythyr hwn atat,

¹⁴These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly;

¹⁵ er mwyn iti gael gwybod sut y mae ymddwyn yn nheulu Duw, sef eglwys y Duw byw, colofn a sylfaen y gwirionedd.

¹⁵but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in God’s house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

¹⁶ A rhaid inni'n unfryd gyffesu mai mawr yw dirgelwch ein crefydd: "Ei amlygu ef mewn cnawd, ei gyfiawnhau yn yr ysbryd, ei weld gan angylion, ei bregethu i'r Cenhedloedd, ei gredu drwy'r byd, ei ddyrchafu mewn gogoniant."

¹⁶Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
