1 Penderfynodd Solomon adeiladu tu375? i enw'r ARGLWYDD, a phalas iddo'i hun.
1Now Solomon purposed to build a house for the name of Yahweh, and a house for his kingdom.
2 Dewisodd ddeng mil a thrigain o ddynion yn gludwyr, a phedwar ugain mil yn chwarelwyr yn y mynydd, a thair mil a chwe chant yn oruchwylwyr drostynt.
2Solomon counted out seventy thousand men to bear burdens, and eighty thousand men who were stone cutters in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.
3 Yna fe anfonodd y neges hon at Hiram brenin Tyrus, "Gwna i mi yn union fel y gwnaethost i Ddafydd fy nhad pan anfonaist iddo gedrwydd er mwyn iddo adeiladu tu375? i fyw ynddo.
3Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, “As you dealt with David my father, and sent him cedars to build him a house in which to dwell, so deal with me.
4 Yr wyf fi am adeiladu tu375? i enw'r ARGLWYDD fy Nuw a'i gysegru iddo, er mwyn llosgi arogldarth peraidd a rhoi'r bara gosod o'i flaen yn rheolaidd, a gwneud poethoffrymau fore a hwyr, ar y Sabothau, y newydd-loerau a gwyliau penodedig yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw; oherwydd y mae hon yn ddeddf i'w chadw gan Israel am byth.
4Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him incense of sweet spices, and for the continual show bread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts of Yahweh our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel.
5 Bydd y tu375? a adeiladaf fi yn un mawr, am fod ein Duw ni yn fwy na'r holl dduwiau.
5“The house which I build is great; for our God is great above all gods.
6 Ond pwy a all adeiladu tu375? iddo pan yw'r nefoedd a nef y nefoedd yn methu ei gynnwys? A phwy wyf fi i godi tu375? iddo, heblaw i arogldarthu o'i flaen?
6But who is able to build him a house, since heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain him? who am I then, that I should build him a house, except just to burn incense before him?
7 Felly, anfon ataf grefftwr medrus i weithio mewn aur, arian, pres a haearn, ac mewn defnydd porffor ac ysgarlad, a sidan glas, un sydd hefyd yn gerfiwr cywrain, er mwyn iddo ymuno 'r crefftwyr a benododd fy nhad Dafydd, ac sydd gennyf yn Jwda a Jerwsalem.
7“Now therefore send me a man skillful to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and who knows how to engrave engravings, to be with the skillful men who are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father provided.
8 Anfon ataf hefyd gedrwydd, ffynidwydd a choed almug o Lebanon, oherwydd gwn fod dy weision yn gyfarwydd thorri coed Lebanon. Bydd fy ngweision yn cynorthwyo dy weision di
8“Send me also cedar trees, fir trees, and algum trees, out of Lebanon; for I know that your servants know how to cut timber in Lebanon: and behold, my servants shall be with your servants,
9 i ddarparu llawer o goed i mi, oherwydd fe fydd y tu375? yr wyf am ei adeiladu yn fawr a rhyfeddol.
9even to prepare me timber in abundance; for the house which I am about to build shall be great and wonderful.
10 Fe roddaf i'th weision, sef y coedwigwyr sy'n torri'r coed, ugain mil o corusau o wenith wedi ei falu, ugain mil o corusau o haidd, ugain mil o bathau o win ac ugain mil o bathau o olew."
10Behold, I will give to your servants, the cutters who cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.”
11 Anfonodd Hiram brenin Tyrus yr ateb hwn i Solomon mewn llythyr: "Am i'r ARGLWYDD garu ei bobl, fe'th wnaeth di'n frenin arnynt.
11Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, “Because Yahweh loves his people, he has made you king over them.”
12 Bendigedig fyddo'r ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel, gwneuthurwr nef a daear, am iddo roi i'r Brenin Dafydd fab doeth, wedi ei ddonio synnwyr a deall, i adeiladu tu375? i'r ARGLWYDD a phalas iddo'i hun.
12Huram continued, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, endowed with discretion and understanding, that should build a house for Yahweh, and a house for his kingdom.
13 Yr wyf yn anfon iti'n awr grefftwr medrus a fu'n gweithio i Hiram fy nhad;
13Now I have sent a skillful man, endowed with understanding, of Huram my father’s,
14 mab ydyw i un o ferched Dan, a'i dad yn hanu o Tyrus. Y mae wedi ei hyfforddi i weithio mewn aur, arian, pres, haearn, cerrig a choed, yn ogystal defnydd porffor ac ysgarlad, sidan glas, a lliain main; gu373?yr hefyd sut i gerfio unrhyw beth, a sut i weithio yn l unrhyw batrwm a roddir iddo. Gad iddo ymuno 'th grefftwyr di a chrefftwyr f'arglwydd Dafydd, dy dad.
14the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan; and his father was a man of Tyre, skillful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson, also to engrave any kind of engraving, and to devise any device; that there may be a place appointed to him with your skillful men, and with the skillful men of my lord David your father.
15 Felly, anfoner y gwenith, yr haidd, yr olew a'r gwin a addawodd fy arglwydd i'w was,
15“Now therefore the wheat and the barley, the oil and the wine, which my lord has spoken of, let him send to his servants:
16 ac fe dorrwn ninnau hynny o goed a fynni o Lebanon, a'u gyrru'n rafftiau i ti dros y mr i Jopa; cei dithau eu cario i fyny i Jerwsalem."
16and we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as you shall need; and we will bring it to you in floats by sea to Joppa; and you shall carry it up to Jerusalem.”
17 Rhifodd Solomon yr holl ddieithriaid oedd yng ngwlad Israel, yn union fel y rhifodd Dafydd ei dad hwy, a'r cyfanswm oedd cant pum deg a thri o filoedd a chwe chant.
17Solomon numbered all the foreigners who were in the land of Israel, after the numbering with which David his father had numbered them; and they were found one hundred fifty-three thousand six hundred.
18 Fe wnaeth ddeng mil a thrigain ohonynt yn gludwyr a phedwar ugain mil yn chwarelwyr yn y mynydd, a thair mil a chwe chant yn oruchwylwyr i sicrhau fod y bobl yn gweithio.
18He set seventy thousand of them to bear burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains, and three thousand six hundred overseers to set the people at work.
