2 Kings

2

1 Pan oedd yr ARGLWYDD ar fedr cymryd Elias i'r nefoedd mewn corwynt, aeth Elias ac Eliseus allan o Gilgal.
1It happened, when Yahweh would take up Elijah by a whirlwind into heaven, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2 A dywedodd Elias wrth Eliseus, "Aros di yma, oherwydd y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn f'anfon i Fethel." Dywedodd Eliseus, "Cyn wired bod yr ARGLWYDD yn fyw, a thithau, ni'th adawaf." Felly aethant i Fethel.
2Elijah said to Elisha, “Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me as far as Bethel.” Elisha said, “As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.
3 Daeth y proffwydi oedd ym Methel at Eliseus a dweud wrtho, "A wyddost ti fod yr ARGLWYDD am gymryd dy feistr oddi arnat heddiw?" "Gwn yn iawn," meddai yntau, "peidiwch dweud."
3The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from your head today?” He said, “Yes, I know it; hold your peace.”
4 Dywedodd Elias wrtho, "Eliseus, aros di yma, oherwydd y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn f'anfon i Jericho." Dywedodd yntau, "Cyn wired bod yr ARGLWYDD yn fyw, a thithau, ni'th adawaf." Felly aethant i Jericho.
4Elijah said to him, “Elisha, please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me to Jericho.” He said, “As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they came to Jericho.
5 Daeth y proffwydi oedd yn Jericho at Eliseus a dweud wrtho, "A wyddost ti fod yr ARGLWYDD am gymryd dy feistr oddi arnat heddiw?" "Gwn yn iawn," meddai yntau, "peidiwch dweud."
5The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came near to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from your head today?” He answered, “Yes, I know it. Hold your peace.”
6 Dywedodd Elias wrtho, "Aros di yma oherwydd y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn f'anfon at yr Iorddonen." Dywedodd yntau, "Cyn wired bod yr ARGLWYDD yn fyw, a thithau, ni'th adawaf." Felly aethant ill dau.
6Elijah said to him, “Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me to the Jordan.” He said, “As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” They both went on.
7 Ac yr oedd hanner cant o broffwydi wedi dod ac aros gyferbyn hwy o hirbell tra oeddent hwy ill dau yn sefyll ar lan yr Iorddonen.
7Fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood opposite them at a distance; and they both stood by the Jordan.
8 Cymerodd Elias ei fantell a'i rholio a tharo'r du373?r. Ymrannodd y du373?r i'r ddeutu, a chroesodd y ddau ar dir sych.
8Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and struck the waters, and they were divided here and there, so that they two went over on dry ground.
9 Wedi iddynt groesi, dywedodd Elias wrth Eliseus, "Gofyn! Beth a wnaf iti cyn fy nghymryd oddi wrthyt?" Atebodd Eliseus, "Rhodder imi gyfran ddwbl o'th ysbryd."
9It happened, when they had gone over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you.” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be on me.”
10 Dywedodd Elias, "Gwnaethost gais anodd. Os gweli fi yn cael fy nghymryd oddi wrthyt, fe gei hyn; ond os na weli, ni chei."
10He said, “You have asked a hard thing. If you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”
11 Ac fel yr oeddent yn mynd, dan siarad, dyma gerbyd tanllyd a meirch tanllyd yn eu gwahanu ill dau, ac Elias yn esgyn mewn corwynt i'r nef.
11It happened, as they still went on, and talked, that behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12 Ac yr oedd Eliseus yn syllu ac yn gweiddi, "Fy nhad, fy nhad; cerbyd a marchogion Israel!" Ni welodd ef wedyn, a chydiodd yn ei wisg a'i rhwygo'n ddau.
12Elisha saw it, and he cried, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!” He saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and tore them in two pieces.
13 Yna cododd fantell Elias a oedd wedi syrthio oddi arno, a dychwelodd a sefyll ar lan yr Iorddonen.
13He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of the Jordan.
14 Cymerodd y fantell a syrthiodd oddi ar Elias, a tharo'r du373?r a dweud, "Ple y mae'r ARGLWYDD, Duw Elias?" Trawodd yntau'r du373?r, ac fe ymrannodd i'r ddeutu, a chroesodd Eliseus.
14He took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and struck the waters, and said, “Where is Yahweh, the God of Elijah?” When he also had struck the waters, they were divided here and there; and Elisha went over.
15 Pan welodd y proffwydi oedd yr ochr draw, yn Jericho, dywedasant, "Disgynnodd ysbryd Elias ar Eliseus."
15When the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho over against him saw him, they said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
16 Ac aethant i'w gyfarfod ac ymgrymu hyd lawr iddo, a dweud, "Y mae gan dy weision hanner cant o ddynion cryfion; gad iddynt fynd i chwilio am dy feistr rhag ofn bod ysbryd yr ARGLWYDD, ar l ei gipio i fyny, wedi ei fwrw ar un o'r mynyddoedd, neu i ryw gwm." Dywedodd, "Peidiwch ag anfon."
16They said to him, “See now, there are with your servants fifty strong men. Please let them go and seek your master. Perhaps the Spirit of Yahweh has taken him up, and put him on some mountain, or into some valley. He said, “You shall not send them.”
17 Ond buont yn daer nes bod cywilydd arno, a dywedodd, "Anfonwch." Wedi iddynt anfon hanner cant o ddynion, buont yn chwilio am dridiau, ond heb ei gael.
17When they urged him until he was ashamed, he said, “Send them.” They sent therefore fifty men; and they searched for three days, but didn’t find him.
18 Arhosodd Eliseus yn Jericho nes iddynt ddychwelyd; yna dywedodd wrthynt, "Oni ddywedais wrthych am beidio mynd?"
18They came back to him, while he stayed at Jericho; and he said to them, “Didn’t I tell you, ‘Don’t go?’”
19 Dywedodd trigolion y dref wrth Eliseus, "Edrych, y mae safle'r dref yn ddymunol, fel y sylwi, O feistr, ond y mae'r du373?r yn wenwynig a'r tir yn ddiffrwyth."
19The men of the city said to Elisha, “Behold, please, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the land miscarries.”
20 Dywedodd yntau, "Dewch llestr newydd crai imi, a rhowch halen ynddo."
20He said, “Bring me a new jar, and put salt in it.” They brought it to him.
21 Wedi iddynt ddod ag ef ato, aeth at lygad y ffynnon a thaflu'r halen iddi a dweud, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Purais y dyfroedd hyn; ni ddaw angau na diffrwythdra oddi yno mwy."
21He went out to the spring of the waters, and threw salt into it, and said, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘I have healed these waters. There shall not be from there any more death or miscarrying.’”
22 Ac y mae'r du373?r yn bur hyd heddiw, yn union fel y dywedodd Eliseus.
22So the waters were healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.
23 Aeth i fyny oddi yno i Fethel, ac fel yr oedd yn mynd, daeth bechgyn bach allan o ryw dref a'i wawdio a dweud wrtho, "Dos i fyny, foelyn! Dos i fyny, foelyn!"
23He went up from there to Bethel. As he was going up by the way, some youths came out of the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldy! Go up, you baldhead!”
24 Troes yntau i edrych arnynt, a'u melltithio yn enw'r ARGLWYDD. Yna daeth dwy arth allan o'r goedwig a llarpio dau a deugain o'r plant.
24He looked behind him and saw them, and cursed them in the name of Yahweh. Two female bears came out of the woods, and mauled forty-two of those youths.
25 Oddi yno aeth i Fynydd Carmel, ac yna dychwelyd i Samaria.
25He went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.
