2 Kings

22

1 Wyth mlwydd oed oedd Joseia pan ddaeth yn frenin, a theyrnasodd am un ar ddeg ar hugain o flynyddoedd yn Jerwsalem. Jedida merch Adaia o Boscath oedd enw ei fam.
1Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
2 Gwnaeth yr hyn oedd uniawn yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD, a dilyn llwybr ei dad Dafydd yn gwbl ddiwyro.
2He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, and walked in all the way of David his father, and didn’t turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
3 Yn ei ddeunawfed flwyddyn anfonodd y Brenin Joseia ei ysgrifennydd Saffan fab Asaleia, fab Mesulam, i du375?'r ARGLWYDD a dweud,
3It happened in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of Yahweh, saying,
4 "Dos at Hilceia yr archoffeiriad, er mwyn iddo gyfrif yr arian a ddygwyd i du375?'r ARGLWYDD ac a gasglodd ceidwaid y drws gan y bobl, i'w trosglwyddo i'r goruchwylwyr sy'n gofalu am du375?'r ARGLWYDD.
4“Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the money which is brought into the house of Yahweh, which the keepers of the threshold have gathered of the people.
5 Y maent i'w rhoi yn awr i'r goruchwylwyr ar du375?'r ARGLWYDD, a hwythau i'w rhoi i'r gweithwyr yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD, sy'n atgyweirio agennau'r tu375?,
5Let them deliver it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of Yahweh; and let them give it to the workmen who are in the house of Yahweh, to repair the breaches of the house,
6 i gael seiri ac adeiladwyr a seiri maen, ac i brynu coed a cherrig nadd i atgyweirio'r tu375?.
6to the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the house.
7 Ond nid ydynt i roi cyfrif o'r arian a roddir i'w gofal, am eu bod yn gweithredu'n onest."
7However there was no accounting made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand; for they dealt faithfully.”
8 Dywedodd yr archoffeiriad Hilceia wrth Saffan yr ysgrifennydd, "Cefais lyfr y gyfraith yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD." A rhoddodd y llyfr i Saffan i'w ddarllen.
8Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the book of the law in the house of Yahweh.” Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
9 Yna aeth Saffan yr ysgrifennydd yn l at y brenin, a dwyn adroddiad iddo, a dweud, "Y mae dy weision wedi cyfrif yr arian oedd yn y deml, ac wedi eu trosglwyddo i'r goruchwylwyr sy'n gofalu am du375?'r ARGLWYDD."
9Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, “Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of Yahweh.”
10 Ac ychwanegodd, "Fe roddodd yr offeiriad Hilceia lyfr imi." Yna darllenodd Saffan ef i'r brenin.
10Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, “Hilkiah the priest has delivered a book to me.” Shaphan read it before the king.
11 Pan glywodd y brenin gynnwys llyfr y gyfraith, rhwygodd ei ddillad,
11It happened, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he tore his clothes.
12 a gorchmynnodd i'r offeiriad Hilceia, ac i Ahicam fab Saffan, ac i Achbor fab Michaia, ac i'r ysgrifennydd Saffan, ac i Asaia gwas y brenin,
12The king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying,
13 "Ewch i ymgynghori 'r ARGLWYDD ar fy rhan, ac ar ran y bobl a holl Jwda, ynglu375?n chynnwys y llyfr hwn a ddaeth i'r golwg; oherwydd y mae llid yr ARGLWYDD yn fawr, ac wedi ei ennyn yn ein herbyn am na wrandawodd ein hynafiaid ar eiriau'r llyfr hwn, na gwneud yr hyn a ysgrifennwyd ar ein cyfer."
13“Go inquire of Yahweh for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is the wrath of Yahweh that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this book, to do according to all that which is written concerning us.”
14 Aeth yr offeiriad Hilceia, ac Ahicam ac Achbor a Saffan ac Asaia, at y broffwydes Hulda, gwraig Salum fab Ticfa, fab Harhas, ceidwad y gwisgoedd. Yr oedd hi'n byw yn yr Ail Barth yn Jerwsalem; ac wedi iddynt ddweud eu neges,
14So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter); and they talked with her.
15 dywedodd hi wrthynt, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel. Dywedwch wrth y sawl a'ch anfonodd ataf,
15She said to them, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: ‘Tell the man who sent you to me,
16 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Yr wyf yn dwyn drwg ar y lle hwn a'i drigolion, popeth sydd yn y llyfr a ddarllenodd brenin Jwda,
16“Thus says Yahweh, ‘Behold, I will bring evil on this place, and on its inhabitants, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read.
17 am eu bod wedi fy ngwrthod ac wedi arogldarthu i dduwiau eraill, i'm digio ym mhopeth a wnnt; y mae fy nig wedi ei ennyn yn erbyn y lle hwn, ac nid oes a'i diffydd.'
17Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it shall not be quenched.’”
18 A dyma a ddywedwch wrth frenin Jwda, a'ch anfonodd i ymgynghori 'r ARGLWYDD: 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel, ynglu375?n 'r geiriau a glywaist:
18But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Yahweh, thus you shall tell him, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: ‘Concerning the words which you have heard,
19 Am i'th galon dyneru, ac iti ymostwng o flaen yr ARGLWYDD pan glywaist fi'n dweud am y lle hwn a'i drigolion, y byddai'n ddifrod ac yn felltith, ac am iti rwygo dy ddillad ac wylo o'm blaen, yr wyf finnau wedi gwrando, medd yr ARGLWYDD.
19because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before Yahweh, when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard you,’ says Yahweh.
20 Ac am hynny casglaf di at dy hynafiaid, a dygir di i'r bedd mewn heddwch, ac ni wl dy lygaid y drwg a ddygaf ar y lle hwn.'" Dygasant hwythau'r ateb i'r brenin.
20‘Therefore behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, neither shall your eyes see all the evil which I will bring on this place.’”’” They brought back this message to the king.
