1 Yr oedd Eliseus wedi dweud wrth y wraig yr adfywiodd ei mab, "Muda oddi yma, ti a'th deulu, a dos i fyw lle medri, oherwydd y mae'r ARGLWYDD wedi cyhoeddi newyn, a bydd yn y wlad am saith mlynedd."
1Now Elisha had spoken to the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, “Arise, and go, you and your household, and stay for a while wherever you can; for Yahweh has called for a famine. It shall also come on the land seven years.”
2 Cychwynnodd y wraig yn l gair gu373?r Duw, ac aeth hi a'i theulu, a byw am saith mlynedd yn Philistia.
2The woman arose, and did according to the word of the man of God. She went with her household, and lived in the land of the Philistines seven years.
3 Ymhen y saith mlynedd, dychwelodd y wraig o Philistia a mynd at y brenin i erfyn am ei thu375? a'i thir.
3It happened at the seven years’ end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines. Then she went forth to cry to the king for her house and for her land.
4 Yr oedd y brenin ar y pryd yn ymddiddan Gehasi, gwas gu373?r Duw, ac yn dweud, "Dywed wrthyf hanes yr holl wrhydri a wnaeth Eliseus."
4Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, “Please tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.”
5 Ac fel yr oedd Gehasi'n adrodd wrth y brenin amdano'n adfywio un oedd wedi marw, dyna'r wraig yr adfywiodd ei mab yn dod i erfyn ar y brenin am ei thu375? a'i thir. Ac meddai Gehasi, "F'arglwydd frenin, hon yw'r wraig, a dyma'r mab a adfywiodd Eliseus."
5It happened, as he was telling the king how he had restored to life him who was dead, that behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.”
6 Holodd y brenin hi, ac adroddodd hithau'r hanes wrtho. Yna penododd y brenin swyddog i ofalu amdani, a dweud wrtho, "Rho'n l iddi ei heiddo i gyd, a chynnyrch y tir hefyd o'r diwrnod y gadawodd y wlad hyd heddiw."
6When the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed to her a certain officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.”
7 Daeth Eliseus i Ddamascus. Yr oedd Ben-hadad brenin Syria yn glaf, a dywedwyd wrtho fod gu373?r Duw wedi cyrraedd.
7Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick. It was told him, saying, “The man of God has come here.”
8 Yna dywedodd y brenin wrth Hasael, "Cymer rodd gyda thi, a dos at u373?r Duw i ymofyn 'r ARGLWYDD, a fyddaf yn gwella o'r clefyd hwn."
8The king said to Hazael, “Take a present in your hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of Yahweh by him, saying, ‘Will I recover from this sickness?’”
9 Aeth Hasael ato gyda deugain llwyth camel o holl nwyddau gorau Damascus yn rhodd. Ar l cyrraedd, safodd o'i flaen a dweud, "Y mae dy fab, Ben-hadad brenin Syria, wedi f'anfon atat i ofyn, 'A fyddaf yn gwella o'r clefyd hwn?'"
9So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, “Your son Benhadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, ‘Will I recover from this sickness?’”
10 Atebodd Eliseus, "Dos a dweud wrtho, ''Rwyt yn sicr o wella.' Ond y mae'r ARGLWYDD wedi dangos i mi y bydd yn sicr o farw."
10Elisha said to him, “Go, tell him, ‘You shall surely recover;’ however Yahweh has shown me that he shall surely die.”
11 A syllodd yn graff ar Hasael nes iddo gywilyddio, ac wylodd gu373?r Duw.
11He settled his gaze steadfastly on him, until he was ashamed. Then the man of God wept.
12 Gofynnodd Hasael, "Pam y mae f'arglwydd yn wylo?" Atebodd, "Am fy mod yn gwybod maint y niwed a wnei i'r Israeliaid: bwrw tn i'w caerau a lladd eu hieuenctid 'r cleddyf, mathru'r plant bach a rhwygo'r beichiog."
12Hazael said, “Why do you weep, my lord?” He answered, “Because I know the evil that you will do to the children of Israel. You will set their strongholds on fire, and you will kill their young men with the sword, and will dash in pieces their little ones, and rip up their women with child.”
13 Dywedodd Hasael, "Sut y gall dy was, nad yw ond ci, wneud peth mor fawr hyn?" Atebodd Eliseus, "Y mae'r ARGLWYDD wedi dy ddangos imi yn frenin ar Syria."
13Hazael said, “But what is your servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing?” Elisha answered, “Yahweh has shown me that you will be king over Syria.”
14 Ymadawodd ag Eliseus, a phan ddaeth at ei feistr, gofynnodd hwnnw iddo, "Beth a ddywedodd Eliseus wrthyt?" Atebodd yntau, "Dweud wrthyf y byddi'n sicr o wella."
14Then he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” He answered, “He told me that you would surely recover.”
15 Ond trannoeth cymerodd Hasael wrthban a'i drochi mewn du373?r a'i daenu dros wyneb y brenin. Bu farw, a daeth Hasael yn frenin yn ei le.
15It happened on the next day, that he took a thick cloth, dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died. Then Hazael reigned in his place.
16 Yn y bumed flwyddyn i Joram fab Ahab, brenin Israel, tra oedd Jehosaffat yn frenin ar Jwda, dechreuodd Jehoram fab Jehosaffat, brenin Jwda, deyrnasu.
16In the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being king of Judah then, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.
17 Deuddeg ar hugain oedd ei oed pan ddaeth yn frenin, a theyrnasodd yn Jerwsalem am wyth mlynedd.
17He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign. He reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
18 Dilynodd lwybr brenhinoedd Israel, fel y gwni tu375? Ahab, gan mai merch Ahab oedd ei wraig, a gwnaeth yr hyn oedd ddrwg yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD.
18He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for he had the daughter of Ahab as wife. He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh.
19 Eto ni fynnai'r ARGLWYDD, er mwyn ei was Dafydd, ddifetha Jwda, am iddo addo rhoi lamp iddo ac i'w blant am byth.
19However Yahweh would not destroy Judah, for David his servant’s sake, as he promised him to give to him a lamp for his children always.
20 Yn ei gyfnod ef gwrthryfelodd Edom yn erbyn Jwda a gosod brenin arnynt eu hunain.
20In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
21 Croesodd Jehoram i Sair a'i holl gerbydau gydag ef; cododd liw nos ac ymosododd ef a'i gerbydwyr ar yr Edomiaid oedd yn ei amgylchu, ond ffodd y fyddin adref.
21Then Joram passed over to Zair, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and struck the Edomites who surrounded him, and the captains of the chariots; and the people fled to their tents.
22 Ac y mae Edom mewn gwrthryfel yn erbyn Jwda hyd y dydd hwn. Gwrthryfelodd Libna hefyd yr un pryd.
22So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
23 Am weddill yr holl bethau a wnaeth Jehoram, onid ydynt wedi eu hysgrifennu yn llyfr hanesion brenhin-oedd Jwda?
23The rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
24 Bu farw Jehoram, a chladdwyd ef gyda'i ragflaenwyr yn Ninas Dafydd; a daeth ei fab Ahaseia yn frenin yn ei le.
24Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.
25 Yn y ddeuddegfed flwyddyn i Joram fab Ahab, brenin Israel, daeth Ahaseia fab Jehoram, brenin Jwda, yn frenin.
25In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah began to reign.
26 Dwy ar hugain oed oedd Ahaseia pan ddaeth yn frenin, a theyrnasodd yn Jerwsalem am flwyddyn. Athaleia oedd enw ei fam, wyres i Omri brenin Israel.
26Twenty-two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
27 Dilynodd yr un llwybr thu375? Ahab, a gwnaeth yr hyn oedd ddrwg yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD, fel tu375? Ahab, am ei fod yn perthyn trwy briodas i du375? Ahab.
27He walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did the house of Ahab; for he was the son-in-law of the house of Ahab.
28 Aeth gyda Joram fab Ahab i ryfel yn erbyn Hasael brenin Syria i Ramoth-gilead, ac anafodd y Syriaid Joram.
28He went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth Gilead: and the Syrians wounded Joram.
29 Ciliodd y Brenin Joram i Jesreel i geisio gwellhad o'r clwyfau a gafodd gan y Syriaid yn Rama yn y frwydr yn erbyn Hasael brenin Syria. A daeth Ahaseia fab Jehoram, brenin Jwda, i edrych am Joram fab Ahab yn Jesreel am ei fod yn glaf.
29King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
