1 Yr oedd rhyw u373?r yng Nghesarea o'r enw Cornelius, canwriad o'r fintai Italaidd, fel y gelwid hi;
1Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,
2 gu373?r defosiynol ydoedd, yn ofni Duw, ef a'i holl deulu. Byddai'n rhoi elusennau lawer i'r bobl Iddewig, ac yn gweddo ar Dduw yn gyson.
2a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to God.
3 Tua thri o'r gloch y prynhawn, gwelodd yn eglur mewn gweledigaeth angel Duw yn dod i mewn ato ac yn dweud wrtho, "Cornelius."
3At about the ninth hour of the day 3:00 PM , he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming to him, and saying to him, “Cornelius!”
4 Syllodd yntau arno a brawychodd, ac meddai, "Beth sydd, f'arglwydd?" Dywedodd yr angel wrtho, "Y mae dy weddau a'th elusennau wedi esgyn yn offrwm coffa gerbron Duw.
4He, fastening his eyes on him, and being frightened, said, “What is it, Lord?” He said to him, “Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God.
5 Ac yn awr anfon ddynion i Jopa i gyrchu dyn o'r enw Simon, a gyfenwir Pedr.
5Now send men to Joppa, and get Simon, who is surnamed Peter.
6 Y mae hwn yn lletya gyda rhyw farcer o'r enw Simon, sydd 'i du375? wrth y mr."
6He lodges with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the seaside. TR adds “This one will tell you what it is necessary for you to do.” ”
7 Wedi i'r angel oedd yn llefaru wrtho ymadael, galwodd ddau o'r gweision tu375? a milwr defosiynol, un o'i weision agos,
7When the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.
8 ac adroddodd y cwbl wrthynt a'u hanfon i Jopa.
8Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.
9 Trannoeth, pan oedd y rhain ar eu taith ac yn agosu at y ddinas, aeth Pedr i fyny ar y to i weddo, tua chanol dydd.
9Now on the next day as they were on their journey, and got close to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.
10 Daeth chwant bwyd arno ac eisiau cael pryd; a thra oeddent yn ei baratoi, aeth i lesmair.
10He became hungry and desired to eat, but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance.
11 Gwelodd y nef yn agored, a rhywbeth fel hwyl fawr yn disgyn ac yn cael ei gollwng wrth bedair congl tua'r ddaear.
11He saw heaven opened and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet let down by four corners on the earth,
12 O'i mewn yr oedd holl anifeiliaid ac ymlusgiaid y ddaear ac adar yr awyr.
12in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, reptiles, and birds of the sky.
13 A daeth llais ato, "Cod, Pedr, lladd a bwyta."
13A voice came to him, “Rise, Peter, kill and eat!”
14 Dywedodd Pedr, "Na, na, Arglwydd; nid wyf fi erioed wedi bwyta dim halogedig nac aflan."
14But Peter said, “Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”
15 A thrachefn eilwaith meddai'r llais wrtho, "Yr hyn y mae Duw wedi ei lanhau, paid ti 'i alw'n halogedig."
15A voice came to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean.”
16 Digwyddodd hyn deirgwaith; yna yn sydyn cymerwyd y peth i fyny i'r nef.
16This was done three times, and immediately the vessel was received up into heaven.
17 Tra oedd Pedr yn amau ynddo'i hun beth allai ystyr y weledigaeth fod, dyma'r dynion oedd wedi eu hanfon gan Cornelius, wedi iddynt holi am du375? Simon, yn dod a sefyll wrth y drws.
17Now while Peter was very perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood before the gate,
18 Galwasant a gofyn, "A yw Simon, a gyfenwir Pedr, yn lletya yma?"
18and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, was lodging there.
19 Tra oedd Pedr yn synfyfyrio ynghylch y weledigaeth, dywedodd yr Ysbryd, "Y mae yma dri dyn yn chwilio amdanat.
19While Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three Reading from TR and NU. MT omits “three” men seek you.
20 Cod, dos i lawr, a dos gyda hwy heb amau dim, oherwydd myfi sydd wedi eu hanfon."
20But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.”
21 Aeth Pedr i lawr at y dynion, ac meddai, "Dyma fi, y dyn yr ydych yn chwilio amdano. Pam y daethoch yma?"
21Peter went down to the men, and said, “Behold, I am he whom you seek. Why have you come?”
22 Meddent hwythau, "Y canwriad Cornelius, gu373?r cyfiawn sy'n ofni Duw ac sydd gair da iddo gan holl genedl yr Iddewon, a rybuddiwyd gan angel sanctaidd i anfon amdanat i'w du375?, ac i glywed y pethau sydd gennyt i'w dweud."
22They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the nation of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say.”
23 Felly gwahoddodd hwy i mewn a rhoi llety iddynt. Trannoeth, cododd ac aeth ymaith gyda hwy, ac aeth rhai o'r credinwyr oedd yn Jopa gydag ef.
23So he called them in and lodged them. On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.
24 A thrannoeth, cyrhaeddodd Gesarea. Yr oedd Cornelius yn eu disgwyl, ac wedi galw ynghyd ei berthnasau a'i gyfeillion agos.
24On the next day they entered into Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his relatives and his near friends.
25 Wedi i Pedr ddod i mewn, aeth Cornelius i'w gyfarfod, a syrthiodd wrth ei draed a'i addoli.
25When it happened that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and worshiped him.
26 Ond cododd Pedr ef ar ei draed, gan ddweud, "Cod; dyn wyf finnau hefyd."
26But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up! I myself am also a man.”
27 A than ymddiddan ag ef aeth i mewn, a chael llawer wedi ymgynnull,
27As he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered together.
28 ac meddai wrthynt, "Fe wyddoch chwi ei bod yn anghyfreithlon i Iddew gadw cwmni gydag estron neu ymweld ag ef; eto dangosodd Duw i mi na ddylwn alw neb yn halogedig neu'n aflan.
28He said to them, “You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I shouldn’t call any man unholy or unclean.
29 Dyna pam y deuthum, heb wrthwynebu o gwbl, pan anfonwyd amdanaf. 'Rwy'n gofyn, felly, pam yr anfonasoch amdanaf."
29Therefore also I came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?”
30 Ac ebe Cornelius, "Pedwar diwrnod i'r awr hon, yr oeddwn ar weddi am dri o'r gloch y prynhawn yn fy nhu375?, a dyma u373?r yn sefyll o'm blaen mewn gwisg ddisglair,
30Cornelius said, “Four days ago, I was fasting until this hour, and at the ninth hour, 3:00 P. M. I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 ac meddai, 'Cornelius, y mae Duw wedi clywed dy weddi di ac wedi cofio am dy elusennau.
31and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your gifts to the needy are remembered in the sight of God.
32 Anfon, felly, i Jopa a gwahodd atat Simon, a gyfenwir Pedr; y mae hwn yn lletya yn nhu375? Simon y barcer, wrth y mr.'
32Send therefore to Joppa, and summon Simon, who is surnamed Peter. He lodges in the house of Simon a tanner, by the seaside. When he comes, he will speak to you.’
33 Anfonais atat, felly, ar unwaith, a gwelaist tithau yn dda ddod. Yn awr, ynteu, yr ydym ni bawb yma gerbron Duw i glywed popeth a orchmynnwyd i ti gan yr Arglwydd."
33Therefore I sent to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God to hear all things that have been commanded you by God.”
34 A dechreuodd Pedr lefaru: "Ar fy ngwir," meddai, "'rwy'n deall nad yw Duw yn dangos ffafriaeth,
34Peter opened his mouth and said, “Truly I perceive that God doesn’t show favoritism;
35 ond bod y sawl ym mhob cenedl sy'n ei ofni ac yn gweithredu cyfiawnder yn dderbyniol ganddo ef.
35but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
36 Y gair hwn a anfonodd i blant Israel, gan gyhoeddi Efengyl tangnefedd drwy Iesu Grist; ef yw Arglwydd pawb.
36The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all—
37 Gwyddoch chwi'r peth a fu drwy holl Jwdea, gan ddechrau yng Ngalilea wedi'r bedydd a gyhoeddodd Ioan Iesu o Nasareth,
37you yourselves know what happened, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 y modd yr eneiniodd Duw ef 'r Ysbryd Gln ac nerth. Aeth ef oddi amgylch gan wneud daioni ac iachu pawb oedd dan ormes y diafol, am fod Duw gydag ef.
38even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
39 Ac yr ydym ni'n dystion o'r holl bethau a wnaeth yng ngwlad yr Iddewon ac yn Jerwsalem. A lladdasant ef, gan ei grogi ar bren.
39We are witnesses of everything he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they also TR omits “also” killed, hanging him on a tree.
40 Ond cyfododd Duw ef ar y trydydd dydd, a pheri iddo ddod yn weledig,
40God raised him up the third day, and gave him to be revealed,
41 nid i'r holl bobl, ond i dystion oedd wedi eu rhagethol gan Dduw, sef i ni, y rhai a fu'n cydfwyta ac yn cydyfed ag ef wedi iddo atgyfodi oddi wrth y meirw.
41not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
42 Gorchmynnodd i ni bregethu i'r bobl, a thystiolaethu mai hwn yw'r un a benodwyd gan Dduw yn farnwr y byw a'r meirw.
42He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that this is he who is appointed by God as the Judge of the living and the dead.
43 I hwn y mae'r holl broffwydi'n tystio, y bydd pawb sy'n credu ynddo ef yn derbyn maddeuant pechodau trwy ei enw."
43All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins.”
44 Tra oedd Pedr yn dal i lefaru'r pethau hyn, syrthiodd yr Ysbryd Gln ar bawb oedd yn gwrando'r gair.
44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.
45 Synnodd y credinwyr Iddewig, cynifer ag oedd wedi dod gyda Pedr, am fod rhodd yr Ysbryd Gln wedi ei thywallt hyd yn oed ar y Cenhedloedd;
45They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles.
46 oherwydd yr oeddent yn eu clywed yn llefaru thafodau ac yn mawrygu Duw. Yna dywedodd Pedr,
46For they heard them speaking in other languages and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,
47 "A all unrhyw un wrthod y du373?r i fedyddio'r rhain, a hwythau wedi derbyn yr Ysbryd Gln fel ninnau?"
47“Can any man forbid the water, that these who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we should not be baptized?”
48 A gorchmynnodd eu bedyddio hwy yn enw Iesu Grist. Yna gofynasant iddo aros am rai dyddiau.
48He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some days.
