1 Ar y trydydd dydd, rhoddodd Esther ei gwisg frenhinol amdani a sefyll yng nghyntedd mewnol y palas gyferbyn ag ystafell y brenin. Yr oedd y brenin yn eistedd ar ei orsedd frenhinol yn y palas gyferbyn 'r fynedfa.
1Now it happened on the third day that Esther put on her royal clothing, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, next to the king’s house. The king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, next to the entrance of the house.
2 Pan welodd y brenin y Frenhines Esther yn sefyll yn y cyntedd, fe enillodd hi ei ffafr, ac estynnodd ati'r deyrnwialen aur oedd yn ei law; daeth hithau yn nes a chyffwrdd blaen y deyrnwialen.
2When the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, she obtained favor in his sight; and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. So Esther came near, and touched the top of the scepter.
3 Yna dywedodd y brenin wrthi, "Beth sy'n bod, Frenhines Esther? Beth bynnag a geisi, hyd hanner fy nheyrnas, fe'i cei."
3Then the king asked her, “What would you like, queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given you even to the half of the kingdom.”
4 Atebodd Esther, "Os gwl y brenin yn dda, hoffwn iddo ef a Haman ddod i'r wledd a baratoais iddo heddiw."
4Esther said, “If it seems good to the king, let the king and Haman come today to the banquet that I have prepared for him.”
5 Gorchmynnodd y brenin gyrchu Haman ar frys, er mwyn gwneud fel y dymunai Esther; yna fe aeth y brenin a Haman i'r wledd a baratdd Esther.
5Then the king said, “Bring Haman quickly, so that it may be done as Esther has said.” So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
6 Wrth iddynt yfed gwin, dywedodd y brenin wrth Esther, "Fe gei di beth bynnag y gofynni amdano. Gwneir beth bynnag a fynni, hyd hanner y deyrnas."
6The king said to Esther at the banquet of wine, “What is your petition? It shall be granted you. What is your request? Even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.”
7 Atebodd Esther, "Dyma fy nghais a'm dymuniad:
7Then Esther answered and said, “My petition and my request is this.
8 os cefais ffafr yng ngolwg y brenin, ac os gwl ef yn dda roi fy neisyfiad a gwneud fy nymuniad, bydded i'r brenin a Haman ddod i'r wledd yr wyf fi am ei pharatoi iddynt; yna yfory gwnaf fel y mae'r brenin yn dweud."
8If I have found favor in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I will prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king has said.”
9 Y diwrnod hwnnw aeth Haman allan yn llawen a hapus. Ond pan welodd ef Mordecai ym mhorth y brenin, ac yntau'n gwrthod codi na dangos parch tuag ato, gwylltiodd yn enbyd ag ef;
9Then Haman went out that day joyful and glad of heart, but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he didn’t stand up nor move for him, he was filled with wrath against Mordecai.
10 ond ymataliodd, ac aeth adref. Yna galwodd ar ei gyfeillion, a'i wraig Seres,
10Nevertheless Haman restrained himself, and went home. There, he sent and called for his friends and Zeresh his wife.
11 ac adroddodd wrthynt am ei olud mawr, am nifer ei feibion, ac am y modd y dyrchafodd y brenin ef trwy ei osod uwchlaw'r tywysogion a'r gweision.
11Haman recounted to them the glory of his riches, the multitude of his children, all the things in which the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.
12 Ac ychwanegodd, "Ni wahoddodd y Frenhines Esther neb ond myfi i fynd gyda'r brenin i'r wledd a wnaeth; ac fe'm gwahoddodd i fynd ati yfory eto gyda'r brenin.
12Haman also said, “Yes, Esther the queen let no man come in with the king to the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and tomorrow I am also invited by her together with the king.
13 Ond nid yw hyn oll yn rhoi unrhyw foddhad i mi tra gwelaf Mordecai yr Iddew yn eistedd ym mhorth y brenin."
13Yet all this avails me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.”
14 Dywedodd Seres ei wraig a phob un o'i gyfeillion wrtho, "Gwneler crocbren hanner can cufydd o uchder, ac yn y bore dywed wrth y brenin am grogi Mordecai arno. Yna dos yn llawen i'r wledd gyda'r brenin." Yr oedd hyn wrth fodd Haman, ac fe wnaeth y crocbren.
14Then Zeresh his wife and all his friends said to him, “Let a gallows be made fifty cubits high, and in the morning speak to the king about hanging Mordecai on it. Then go in merrily with the king to the banquet.” This pleased Haman, so he had the gallows made.
