1 Yr oedd Moses yn bugeilio defaid ei dad-yng-nghyfraith Jethro, offeiriad Midian, ac wrth iddo arwain y praidd ar hyd cyrion yr anialwch, daeth i Horeb, mynydd Duw.
1Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to God’s mountain, to Horeb.
2 Yno ymddangosodd angel yr ARGLWYDD iddo mewn fflam dn o ganol perth. Edrychodd yntau a gweld y berth ar dn ond heb ei difa.
2The angel of Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3 Dywedodd Moses, "Yr wyf am droi i edrych ar yr olygfa ryfedd hon, pam nad yw'r berth wedi llosgi."
3Moses said, “I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.”
4 Pan welodd yr ARGLWYDD ei fod wedi troi i edrych, galwodd Duw arno o ganol y berth, "Moses, Moses." Atebodd yntau, "Dyma fi."
4When Yahweh saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush, and said, “Moses! Moses!” He said, “Here I am.”
5 Yna dywedodd Duw, "Paid dod ddim nes; tyn dy esgidiau oddi am dy draed, oherwydd y mae'r llecyn yr wyt yn sefyll arno yn dir sanctaidd."
5He said, “Don’t come close. Take your sandals off of your feet, for the place you are standing on is holy ground.”
6 Dywedodd hefyd, "Duw dy dadau wyf fi, Duw Abraham, Duw Isaac a Duw Jacob." Cuddiodd Moses ei wyneb, oherwydd yr oedd arno ofn edrych ar Dduw.
6Moreover he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God.
7 Yna dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD, "Yr wyf wedi gweld adfyd fy mhobl yn yr Aifft a chlywed eu gwaedd o achos eu meistri gwaith, a gwn am eu doluriau.
7Yahweh said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.
8 Yr wyf wedi dod i'w gwaredu o law'r Eifftiaid, a'u harwain o'r wlad honno i wlad ffrwythlon ac eang, gwlad yn llifeirio o laeth a ml, cartref y Canaaneaid, Hethiaid, Amoriaid, Peresiaid, Hefiaid a Jebusiaid.
8I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
9 Yn awr y mae gwaedd pobl Israel wedi dod ataf, ac yr wyf wedi gweld fel y bu'r Eifftiaid yn eu gorthrymu.
9Now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to me. Moreover I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.
10 Tyrd, yr wyf yn dy anfon at Pharo er mwyn iti arwain fy mhobl, yr Israeliaid, allan o'r Aifft."
10Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
11 Ond gofynnodd Moses i Dduw, "Pwy wyf fi i fynd at Pharo ac arwain pobl Israel allan o'r Aifft?"
11Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
12 Dywedodd yntau, "Byddaf fi gyda thi; a dyma fydd yr arwydd mai myfi sydd wedi dy anfon: wedi iti arwain y bobl allan o'r Aifft, byddwch yn addoli Duw ar y mynydd hwn."
12He said, “Certainly I will be with you. This will be the token to you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”
13 Yna dywedodd Moses wrth Dduw, "Os af at bobl Israel a dweud wrthynt, 'Y mae Duw eich hynafiaid wedi fy anfon atoch', beth a ddywedaf wrthynt os gofynnant am ei enw?"
13Moses said to God, “Behold, when I come to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you;’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ What should I tell them?”
14 Dywedodd Duw wrth Moses, "Ydwyf yr hyn ydwyf. Dywed hyn wrth bobl Israel, 'Ydwyf sydd wedi fy anfon atoch.'"
14God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM,” and he said, “You shall tell the children of Israel this: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
15 Dywedodd Duw eto wrth Moses, "Dywed hyn wrth bobl Israel, 'Yr ARGLWYDD, Duw eich tadau, Duw Abraham, Duw Isaac a Duw Jacob sydd wedi fy anfon atoch.' Dyma fydd fy enw am byth, ac fel hyn y cofir amdanaf gan bob cenhedlaeth.
15God said moreover to Moses, “You shall tell the children of Israel this, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.
16 Dos, a chynnull ynghyd henuriaid Israel, a dywed wrthynt, 'Y mae'r ARGLWYDD, Duw eich tadau, Duw Abraham, Isaac a Jacob, wedi ymddangos i mi a dweud: Yr wyf wedi ymweld chwi ac edrych ar yr hyn a wnaed i chwi yn yr Aifft,
16Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and tell them, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, “I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt;
17 ac yr wyf wedi penderfynu eich arwain allan o adfyd yr Aifft i wlad y Canaaneaid, Hethiaid, Amoriaid, Peresiaid, Hefiaid a Jebusiaid, gwlad yn llifeirio o laeth a ml.'
17and I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, to a land flowing with milk and honey.”’
18 Bydd henuriaid Israel yn gwrando arnat; dos dithau gyda hwy at frenin yr Aifft a dweud wrtho, 'Y mae'r ARGLWYDD, Duw'r Hebreaid, wedi ymweld ni; yn awr gad inni fynd daith dridiau i'r anialwch er mwyn inni aberthu i'r ARGLWYDD ein Duw.'
18They will listen to your voice, and you shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and you shall tell him, ‘Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to Yahweh, our God.’
19 Ond yr wyf yn gwybod na fydd brenin yr Aifft yn caniatu i chwi fynd oni orfodir ef llaw gadarn.
19I know that the king of Egypt won’t give you permission to go, no, not by a mighty hand.
20 Felly, estynnaf fy llaw a tharo'r Eifftiaid 'r holl ryfeddodau a wnaf yn eu plith; wedi hynny, bydd yn eich gollwng yn rhydd.
20I will reach out my hand and strike Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in its midst, and after that he will let you go.
21 Gwnaf i'r Eifftiaid edrych yn ffafriol ar y bobl hyn, a phan fyddwch yn ymadael, nid ewch yn waglaw,
21I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, and it will happen that when you go, you shall not go empty-handed.
22 oherwydd bydd pob gwraig yn gofyn i'w chymdoges neu i unrhyw un yn ei thu375? am dlysau o arian ac o aur, a dillad. Gwisgwch hwy am eich meibion a'ch merched, ac ysbeiliwch yr Aifft."
22But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, and of her who visits her house, jewels of silver, jewels of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons, and on your daughters. You shall plunder the Egyptians.”
