Exodus

32

1 Pan welodd y bobl fod Moses yn oedi dod i lawr o'r mynydd, daethant ynghyd at Aaron a dweud wrtho, "Cod, gwna inni dduwiau i fynd o'n blaen, oherwydd ni wyddom beth a ddig-wyddodd i'r Moses hwn a ddaeth ni i fyny o wlad yr Aifft."
1When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.”
2 Dywedodd Aaron wrthynt, "Tynnwch y tlysau aur sydd ar glustiau eich gwragedd a'ch meibion a'ch merched, a dewch hwy ataf fi."
2Aaron said to them, “Take off the golden rings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them to me.”
3 Felly tynnodd yr holl bobl eu clustlysau aur, a daethant hwy at Aaron.
3All the people took off the golden rings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron.
4 Cymerodd yntau y tlysau ganddynt, ac wedi eu trin chu375?n, gwnaeth lo tawdd ohonynt. Dywedodd y bobl, "Dyma, O Israel, dy dduwiau a ddaeth thi i fyny o wlad yr Aifft."
4He received what they handed him, and fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it a molten calf; and they said, “These are your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”
5 Pan welodd Aaron y llo tawdd, adeiladodd allor o'i flaen a chyhoeddodd, "Yfory bydd gu373?yl i'r ARGLWYDD."
5When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made a proclamation, and said, “Tomorrow shall be a feast to Yahweh.”
6 Trannoeth codasant yn gynnar ac offrymu poethoffrymau, a dod heddoffrymau; yna eisteddodd y bobl i fwyta ac yfed, ac ymroi i gyfeddach.
6They rose up early on the next day, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
7 Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses, "Dos i lawr, oherwydd y mae'r bobl y daethost hwy i fyny o wlad yr Aifft wedi eu halogi eu hunain.
7Yahweh spoke to Moses, “Go, get down; for your people, who you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves!
8 Y maent wedi cilio'n gyflym oddi wrth y ffordd a orchmynnais iddynt; gwnaethant iddynt eu hunain lo tawdd, ac y maent wedi ei addoli ac aberthu iddo, a dweud, 'Dyma, O Israel, dy dduwiau a ddaeth thi i fyny o wlad yr Aifft.'"
8They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed to it, and said, ‘These are your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.’”
9 Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses, "Yr wyf wedi gweld mor wargaled yw'r bobl hyn;
9Yahweh said to Moses, “I have seen these people, and behold, they are a stiff-necked people.
10 yn awr, gad lonydd imi er mwyn i'm llid ennyn yn eu herbyn a'u difa; ond ohonot ti fe wnaf genedl fawr."
10Now therefore leave me alone, that my wrath may burn hot against them, and that I may consume them; and I will make of you a great nation.”
11 Ymbiliodd Moses 'r ARGLWYDD ei Dduw, a dweud, "O ARGLWYDD, pam y mae dy lid yn ennyn yn erbyn dy bobl a ddygaist allan o wlad yr Aifft nerth mawr ac llaw gadarn?
11Moses begged Yahweh his God, and said, “Yahweh, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, that you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?
12 Pam y caiff yr Eifftiaid ddweud, ' malais yr aeth hwy allan, er mwyn eu lladd yn y mynyddoedd a'u difa oddi ar wyneb y ddaear'? Tro oddi wrth dy lid angerddol, a bydd edifar am iti fwriadu drwg i'th bobl.
12Why should the Egyptians speak, saying, ‘He brought them forth for evil, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the surface of the earth?’ Turn from your fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against your people.
13 Cofia Abraham, Isaac ac Israel, dy weision y tyngaist iddynt yn d'enw dy hun a dweud, 'Amlhaf eich disgynyddion fel sr y nefoedd, a rhoddaf yr holl wlad hon iddynt, fel yr addewais, yn etifeddiaeth am byth.'"
13Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your seed as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.’”
14 Yna bu'n edifar gan yr ARGLWYDD am iddo fwriadu drwg i'w bobl.
14Yahweh repented of the evil which he said he would do to his people.
15 Trodd Moses, a mynd i lawr o'r mynydd dwy lech y dystiolaeth yn ei law, llechau ag ysgrifen ar y ddau wyneb iddynt.
15Moses turned, and went down from the mountain, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand; tablets that were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other they were written.
16 Yr oedd y llechau o waith Duw, ac ysgrifen Duw wedi ei cherfio arnynt.
16The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tables.
17 Pan glywodd Josua su373?n y bobl yn bloeddio, dywedodd wrth Moses, "Y mae su373?n rhyfel yn y gwersyll."
17When Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “There is the noise of war in the camp.”
18 Ond meddai yntau, "Nid su373?n gorchfygwyr yn bloeddio na rhai a drechwyd yn gweiddi a glywaf fi, ond su373?n canu."
18He said, “It isn’t the voice of those who shout for victory, neither is it the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the noise of those who sing that I hear.”
19 Pan ddaeth yn agos at y gwersyll, a gweld y llo a'r dawnsio, gwylltiodd Moses, a thaflu'r llechau o'i ddwylo a'u torri'n deilchion wrth droed y mynydd.
19It happened, as soon as he came near to the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing: and Moses’ anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.
20 Cymerodd y llo a wnaethant, a'i losgi thn; fe'i malodd yn llwch a'i gymysgu du373?r, a gwnaeth i bobl Israel ei yfed.
20He took the calf which they had made, and burnt it with fire, ground it to powder, and scattered it on the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.
21 Dywedodd Moses wrth Aaron, "Beth a wnaeth y bobl hyn i ti, i beri iti ddwyn arnynt y fath bechod?"
21Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”
22 Atebodd Aaron ef: "Paid digio, f'arglwydd; fe wyddost am y bobl, eu bod 'u bryd ar wneud drygioni.
22Aaron said, “Don’t let the anger of my lord grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.
23 Dywedasant wrthyf, 'Gwna inni dduwiau i fynd o'n blaen, oherwydd ni wyddom beth a ddigwyddodd i'r Moses hwn a ddaeth ni i fyny o wlad yr Aifft'.
23For they said to me, ‘Make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’
24 Dywedais innau wrthynt, 'Y mae pawb sydd thlysau aur ganddynt i'w tynnu i ffwrdd'. Rhoesant yr aur i mi, ac fe'i teflais yn y tn; yna daeth y llo hwn allan."
24I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them take it off:’ so they gave it to me; and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.”
25 Gwelodd Moses fod y bobl yn afreolus, a bod Aaron wedi gadael iddynt fynd felly, a'u gwneud yn waradwydd ymysg eu gelynion.
25When Moses saw that the people had broken loose, (for Aaron had let them loose for a derision among their enemies),
26 Yna safodd Moses wrth borth y gwersyll, a dweud, "Pwy bynnag sydd o blaid yr ARGLWYDD, doed ataf fi." Ymgasglodd holl feibion Lefi ato,
26then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, “Whoever is on Yahweh’s side, come to me!” All the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him.
27 a dywedodd wrthynt, "Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel: 'Bydded i bob un ohonoch osod ei gleddyf ar ei glun a mynd yn l a blaen drwy'r gwersyll, o ddrws i ddrws, a lladded pob un ei frawd, ei gyfaill a'i gymydog.'"
27He said to them, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘Every man put his sword on his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate throughout the camp, and every man kill his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’”
28 Gwnaeth meibion Lefi yn l gorchymyn Moses, a'r diwrnod hwnnw syrthiodd tua thair mil o'r bobl.
28The sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
29 Dywedodd Moses, "Heddiw yr ydych wedi'ch ordeinio i'r ARGLWYDD, pob un ar draul ei fab a'i frawd, er mwyn iddo ef eich bendithio'r dydd hwn."
29Moses said, “Consecrate yourselves today to Yahweh, yes, every man against his son, and against his brother; that he may bestow on you a blessing this day.”
30 Trannoeth dywedodd Moses wrth y bobl, "Yr ydych wedi pechu'n ddirfawr. Yr wyf am fynd, yn awr, i fyny at yr ARGLWYDD; efallai y caf wneud cymod dros eich pechod."
30It happened on the next day, that Moses said to the people, “You have sinned a great sin. Now I will go up to Yahweh. Perhaps I shall make atonement for your sin.”
31 Dychwelodd Moses at yr ARGLWYDD a dweud, "Och! Y mae'r bobl hyn wedi pechu'n ddirfawr trwy wneud iddynt eu hunain dduwiau o aur.
31Moses returned to Yahweh, and said, “Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made themselves gods of gold.
32 Yn awr, os wyt am faddau eu pechod, maddau; ond os nad wyt, dilea fi o'r llyfr a ysgrifennaist."
32Yet now, if you will, forgive their sin—and if not, please blot me out of your book which you have written.”
33 Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses, "Y sawl a bechodd yn f'erbyn a ddileaf o'm llyfr.
33Yahweh said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
34 Yn awr, dos, ac arwain y bobl i'r lle y dywedais wrthyt, a bydd fy angel yn mynd o'th flaen. Ond fe ddaw dydd pan ymwelaf hwy am eu pechod."
34Now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Behold, my angel shall go before you. Nevertheless in the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin.”
35 Anfonodd yr ARGLWYDD bla ar y bobl am yr hyn a wnaethant 'r llo a luniodd Aaron.
35Yahweh struck the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.
