1 Yna aeth Moses ac Aaron at Pharo a dweud, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel: 'Gollwng fy mhobl yn rhydd er mwyn iddynt gadw gu373?yl i mi yn yr anialwch.'"
1Afterward Moses and Aaron came, and said to Pharaoh, “This is what Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘Let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.’”
2 Dywedodd Pharo, "Pwy yw yr ARGLWYDD? Pam y dylwn i ufuddhau iddo a gollwng Israel yn rhydd? Nid wyf yn adnabod yr ARGLWYDD, ac felly nid wyf am ollwng Israel yn rhydd."
2Pharaoh said, “Who is Yahweh, that I should listen to his voice to let Israel go? I don’t know Yahweh, and moreover I will not let Israel go.”
3 Yna dywedasant, "Y mae Duw'r Hebreaid wedi cyfarfod ni. Gad inni fynd daith dridiau i'r anialwch i aberthu i'r ARGLWYDD, ein Duw, rhag iddo ein taro haint neu chleddyf."
3They said, “The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahweh, our God, lest he fall on us with pestilence, or with the sword.”
4 Ond dywedodd brenin yr Aifft wrthynt, "Moses ac Aaron, pam yr ydych yn denu'r bobl oddi wrth eu gwaith? Ewch yn l at eich gorchwylion."
4The king of Egypt said to them, “Why do you, Moses and Aaron, take the people from their work? Get back to your burdens!”
5 Dywedodd Pharo hefyd, "Edrychwch, y maent erbyn hyn yn fwy niferus na thrigolion y wlad, ac yr ydych chwi am atal eu gorchwylion!"
5Pharaoh said, “Behold, the people of the land are now many, and you make them rest from their burdens.”
6 Y diwrnod hwnnw, rhoddodd Pharo orchymyn i feistri gwaith y bobl a'u swyddogion,
6The same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying,
7 "Peidiwch rhoi gwellt mwyach i'r bobl i wneud priddfeini; gadewch iddynt fynd a chasglu gwellt iddynt eu hunain.
7“You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick, as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves.
8 Ond gofalwch eu bod yn cynhyrchu'r un nifer o briddfeini chynt, a pheidiwch lleihau'r nifer iddynt. Y maent yn ddiog, a dyna pam y maent yn gweiddi am gael mynd i aberthu i'w Duw.
8The number of the bricks, which they made before, you require from them. You shall not diminish anything of it, for they are idle; therefore they cry, saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’
9 Gwnewch y gwaith yn drymach i'r bobl er mwyn iddynt ddal ati i weithio, a pheidiwch gwrando ar eu celwydd."
9Let heavier work be laid on the men, that they may labor therein; and don’t let them pay any attention to lying words.”
10 Aeth meistri gwaith a swyddogion y bobl allan a dweud wrthynt, "Fel hyn y dywed Pharo:
10The taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spoke to the people, saying, “This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I will not give you straw.
11 'Nid wyf am roi gwellt i chwi mwyach, ond rhaid i chwi eich hunain fynd i geisio gwellt ym mha le bynnag y gallwch ei gael; er hynny, ni fydd dim cwtogi ar eich cynnyrch.'"
11Go yourselves, get straw where you can find it, for nothing of your work shall be diminished.’”
12 Felly, bu raid i'r bobl grwydro trwy holl wlad yr Aifft a chasglu sofl yn lle gwellt.
12So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw.
13 Yr oedd y meistri gwaith yn pwyso arnynt gan ddweud, "Gorffennwch y gwaith ar gyfer pob dydd, yn union fel yr oeddech pan oedd gennych wellt."
13The taskmasters were urgent saying, “Fulfill your work quota daily, as when there was straw!”
14 Cafodd y swyddogion a benodwyd gan feistri gwaith Pharo i oruchwylio'r Israeliaid eu curo a'u holi, "Pam na wnaethoch eich dogn o briddfeini heddiw fel cynt?"
14The officers of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, “Why haven’t you fulfilled your quota both yesterday and today, in making brick as before?”
15 Yna daeth swyddogion yr Israeliaid 'u cwyn at Pharo, a dweud, "Pam yr wyt yn trin dy weision fel hyn?
15Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried to Pharaoh, saying, “Why do you deal this way with your servants?
16 Nid oes dim gwellt yn cael ei roi i'th weision, ac eto maent yn dweud wrthym am wneud priddfeini! Y mae dy weision yn cael eu curo, ond ar dy bobl di y mae'r bai."
16No straw is given to your servants, and they tell us, ‘Make brick!’ and behold, your servants are beaten; but the fault is in your own people.”
17 Dywedodd yntau, "Am eich bod mor ddiog yr ydych yn dweud, 'Gad inni fynd i aberthu i'r ARGLWYDD.'
17But he said, “You are idle! You are idle! Therefore you say, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to Yahweh.’
18 Yn awr, ewch ymlaen 'ch gwaith; ac er na roddir gwellt i chwi mwyach, bydd raid i chwi gynhyrchu'r un nifer o briddfeini chynt."
18Go therefore now, and work, for no straw shall be given to you, yet you shall deliver the same number of bricks!”
19 Pan ddywedwyd nad oeddent i leihau'r nifer o briddfeini oedd i'w cynhyrchu mewn diwrnod, gwelodd swyddogion yr Israeliaid eu bod mewn helynt.
19The officers of the children of Israel saw that they were in trouble, when it was said, “You shall not diminish anything from your daily quota of bricks!”
20 Wedi iddynt ymadael Pharo, daeth Moses ac Aaron i'w cyfarfod,
20They met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came out from Pharaoh:
21 a dywedodd y swyddogion wrthynt, "Boed i'r ARGLWYDD edrych arnoch a'ch barnu, am ichwi ein gwneud yn ffiaidd yng ngolwg Pharo a'i weision, a rhoi cleddyf iddynt i'n lladd."
21and they said to them, “May Yahweh look at you, and judge, because you have made us a stench to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.”
22 Aeth Moses yn l at yr ARGLWYDD a dweud, "O ARGLWYDD, pam yr wyt wedi peri'r fath helynt i'r bobl hyn? A pham yr anfonaist fi?
22Moses returned to Yahweh, and said, “Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Why is it that you have sent me?
23 Oherwydd er pan ddeuthum at Pharo a llefaru yn dy enw, y mae wedi gwneud drwg i'r bobl hyn, ac nid wyt ti wedi gwneud dim o gwbl i achub eu cam."
23For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble on this people; neither have you delivered your people at all.”
