¹ Am hynny, gan fod cymaint torf o dystion o'n cwmpas, gadewch i ninnau fwrw ymaith bob rhwystr, a'r pechod sy'n ein maglu mor rhwydd, a rhedeg yr yrfa sydd o'n blaen heb ddiffygio,

¹Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

² gan gadw ein golwg ar Iesu, awdur a pherffeithydd ffydd. Er mwyn y llawenydd oedd o'i flaen, fe oddefodd ef y groes heb ddiffygio, gan ddiystyru gwarth, ac y mae wedi eistedd ar ddeheulaw gorseddfainc Duw.

²looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

³ Meddyliwch amdano ef, a oddefodd y fath elyniaeth ato'i hun gan bechaduriaid, rhag i chwi flino na digalonni.

³For consider him who has endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, that you don’t grow weary, fainting in your souls.

⁴ Hyd yma, nid ydych wedi gwrthwynebu hyd at waed yn y frwydr yn erbyn pechod,

⁴You have not yet resisted to blood, striving against sin;

⁵ ac yr ydych wedi anghofio'r anogaeth sy'n eich annerch fel plant: "Fy mhlentyn, paid � dirmygu disgyblaeth yr Arglwydd, a phaid � digalonni pan gei dy geryddu ganddo;

⁵and you have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children, “My son, don’t take lightly the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by him;

⁶ oherwydd y mae'r Arglwydd yn disgyblu'r sawl y mae'n ei garu, ac yn fflangellu pob un y mae'n ei arddel."

⁶For whom the Lord loves, he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives.” Proverbs 3:11-12

⁷ Goddefwch y cwbl er mwyn disgyblaeth; y mae Duw yn eich trin fel plant. Canys pa blentyn sydd nad yw ei dad yn ei ddisgyblu?

⁷It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn’t discipline?

⁸ Ac os ydych heb y ddisgyblaeth y mae pob un yn gyfrannog ohoni, yna bastardiaid ydych, ac nid plant cyfreithlon.

⁸But if you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then are you illegitimate, and not children.

⁹ Mwy na hynny, yr oedd gennym rieni daearol i'n disgyblu, ac yr oeddem yn eu parchu hwy. Oni ddylem, yn fwy o lawer, ymddarostwng i'n Tad ysbrydol, a chael byw?

⁹Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?

¹⁰ Yr oedd ein rhieni yn disgyblu am gyfnod byr, fel yr oeddent hwy'n gweld yn dda; ond y mae ef yn gwneud hynny er ein lles, er mwyn inni allu cyfranogi o'i sancteiddrwydd ef.

¹⁰For they indeed, for a few days, punished us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.

¹¹ Nid yw unrhyw ddisgyblaeth, yn wir, ar y pryd yn ymddangos yn bleserus, ond yn hytrach yn boenus; ond yn nes ymlaen, y mae'n dwyn heddychol gynhaeaf cyfiawnder i'r rhai sydd wedi eu hyfforddi ganddi.

¹¹All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby.

¹² Felly, cryfhewch y dwylo llesg a'r gliniau gwan,

¹²Therefore lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees, Isaiah 35:3

¹³ a gwnewch lwybrau union i'ch traed, rhag i'r aelod cloff gael ei ddatgymalu, ond yn hytrach gael ei wneud yn iach.

¹³and make straight paths for your feet, Proverbs 4:26 so that which is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.

¹⁴ Ceisiwch heddwch � phawb, a'r bywyd sanctaidd hwnnw nad oes modd i neb weld yr Arglwydd hebddo.

¹⁴Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord,

¹⁵ Cymerwch ofal na chaiff neb syrthio'n �l oddi wrth ras Duw, rhag i ryw wreiddyn chwerw dyfu i'ch blino, ac i lawer gael eu llygru ganddo.

¹⁵looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it;

¹⁶ Na foed yn eich plith unrhyw un sy'n anfoesol, neu'n halogedig fel Esau, a werthodd ei freintiau fel etifedd am bryd o fwyd.

¹⁶lest there be any sexually immoral person, or profane person, like Esau, who sold his birthright for one meal.

¹⁷ Oherwydd fe wyddoch iddo ef, pan ddymunodd wedi hynny etifeddu'r fendith, gael ei wrthod, oherwydd ni chafodd gyfle i edifarhau, er iddo grefu am hynny � dagrau.

¹⁷For you know that even when he afterward desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for a change of mind though he sought it diligently with tears.

¹⁸ Oherwydd nid ydych chwi wedi dod at ddim y gellir ei gyffwrdd, at d�n sydd yn llosgi, at gaddug a thywyllwch a thymestl,

¹⁸For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm,

¹⁹ at floedd utgorn, a llef yn rhoi gorchymyn nes i'r rhai a'i clywodd ymbil am i'r llefaru beidio,

¹⁹the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them,

²⁰ am na allent oddef y gorchymyn: "Os bydd anifail, hyd yn oed, yn cyffwrdd �'r mynydd, rhaid ei labyddio."

²⁰for they could not stand that which was commanded, “If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned TR adds “or shot with an arrow” [see Exodus 19:12-13] ”; Exodus 19:12-13

²¹ A chan mor ofnadwy oedd yr olygfa, dywedodd Moses, "Y mae arnaf arswyd a chryndod."

²¹and so fearful was the appearance, that Moses said, “I am terrified and trembling.” Deuteronomy 9:19

²² Ond at Fynydd Seion yr ydych chwi wedi dod, ac i ddinas y Duw byw, y Jerwsalem nefol; ac at fyrddiynau o angylion

²²But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels,

²³ yn cadw gu373?yl, a chynulleidfa y rhai cyntafanedig sydd �'u henwau'n ysgrifenedig yn y nefoedd; ac at Dduw, Barnwr pawb, ac at ysbrydoedd y rhai cyfiawn sydd wedi eu perffeithio, ac at Iesu,

²³to the general assembly and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,

²⁴ cyfryngwr y cyfamod newydd, ac at waed y taenellu, sydd yn llefaru'n gryfach na gwaed Abel.

²⁴to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, Jeremiah 31:31 and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.

²⁵ Gwyliwch beidio � gwrthod yr hwn sydd yn llefaru, oherwydd os na ddihangodd y rhai a wrthododd yr hwn oedd yn eu rhybuddio ar y ddaear, mwy o lawer ni bydd dianc i ni os byddwn yn troi oddi wrth yr hwn sy'n ein rhybuddio o'r nefoedd.

²⁵See that you don’t refuse him who speaks. For if they didn’t escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven,

²⁶ Siglodd ei lais y ddaear y pryd hwnnw, ond yn awr y mae wedi addo, "Unwaith eto yr wyf fi am ysgwyd, nid yn unig y ddaear ond y nefoedd hefyd."

²⁶whose voice shook the earth then, but now he has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heavens.” Haggai 2:6

²⁷ Ond y mae'r geiriau, "Unwaith eto", yn dynodi bod y pethau a siglir, fel pethau wedi eu creu, i gael eu symud, er mwyn i'r pethau na siglir aros.

²⁷This phrase, “Yet once more,” signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain.

²⁸ Felly, gan ein bod yn derbyn teyrnas ddi-sigl, gadewch inni fod yn ddiolchgar, a thrwy hynny wasanaethu Duw wrth ei fodd, � pharch ac ofn duwiol.

²⁸Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can’t be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,

²⁹ Oherwydd yn wir, t�n yn ysu yw ein Duw ni.

²⁹for our God is a consuming fire. Deuteronomy 4:24
