Hebrews

4

1 Gochelwn, felly, rhag i neb ohonoch fod wedi eich cau allan megis, a'r addewid yn aros y cawn ddod i mewn i'w orffwysfa ef.
1Let us fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest.
2 Oherwydd fe gyhoeddwyd y newyddion da, yn wir, i ni fel iddynt hwythau, ond ni bu'r gair a glywsant o unrhyw fudd iddynt hwy, am nad oeddent wedi eu huno mewn ffydd 'r sawl oedd wedi gwrando ar y gair.
2For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard didn’t profit them, because it wasn’t mixed with faith by those who heard.
3 Oblegid nyni, y rhai sydd wedi credu, sydd yn mynd i mewn i'r orffwysfa, yn unol 'r hyn a ddywedodd: "Felly tyngais yn fy nig, 'Ni chnt fyth ddod i mewn i'm gorffwysfa.'" Ac eto yr oedd ei waith wedi ei orffen er seiliad y byd.
3For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest”; although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 Oherwydd y mae gair yn rhywle am y seithfed dydd fel hyn: "A gorffwysodd Duw ar y seithfed dydd oddi wrth ei holl waith."
4For he has said this somewhere about the seventh day, “God rested on the seventh day from all his works”;
5 Felly hefyd yma: "Ni chnt fyth ddod i mewn i'm gorffwysfa."
5and in this place again, “They will not enter into my rest.”
6 Felly, gan ei bod yn sicr y bydd rhai yn cael dod i mewn iddi, a chan fod y rhai y cyhoeddwyd y newyddion da iddynt gynt heb ddod i mewn oherwydd anufudd-dod,
6Seeing therefore it remains that some should enter therein, and they to whom the good news was before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,
7 y mae ef drachefn yn pennu dydd neilltuol, sef "Heddiw", gan lefaru trwy Ddafydd ar l cymaint o amser, fel y dyfynnwyd o'r blaen: "Heddiw, os gwrandewch ar ei lais, peidiwch chaledu'ch calonnau."
7he again defines a certain day, today, saying through David so long a time afterward (just as has been said), “Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.”
8 Oherwydd petai Josua wedi rhoi gorffwys iddynt, ni byddai Duw wedi sn ar l hynny am ddiwrnod arall.
8For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.
9 Felly, y mae gorffwysfa'r Saboth yn aros yn sicr i bobl Dduw.
9There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
10 Oherwydd mae pwy bynnag a ddaeth i mewn i'w orffwysfa ef yn gorffwys oddi wrth ei waith, fel y gorffwysodd Duw oddi wrth ei waith yntau.
10For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
11 Gadewch inni ymdrechu, felly, i fynd i mewn i'r orffwysfa honno, rhag i neb syrthio o achos yr un math o anufudd-dod.
11Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.
12 Y mae gair Duw yn fyw a grymus; y mae'n llymach na'r un cleddyf daufiniog, ac yn treiddio hyd at wahaniad yr enaid a'r ysbryd, y cymalau a'r mr; ac y mae'n barnu bwriadau a meddyliau'r galon.
12For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
13 Nid oes dim a grewyd yn guddiedig o'i olwg, ond y mae pob peth yn agored ac wedi ei ddinoethi o flaen llygaid yr Un yr ydym ni i roi cyfrif iddo.
13There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
14 Gan fod gennym, felly, archoffeiriad mawr sydd wedi mynd drwy'r nefoedd, sef Iesu, Mab Duw, gadewch inni lynu wrth ein cyffes.
14Having then a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold tightly to our confession.
15 Canys nid archoffeiriad heb allu cyd-ddioddef 'n gwendidau sydd gennym, ond un sydd wedi ei demtio ym mhob peth, yn yr un modd ni, ac eto heb bechod.
15For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.
16 Felly, gadewch inni nesu mewn hyder at orsedd gras, er mwyn derbyn trugaredd a chael gras yn gymorth yn ei bryd.
16Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.
