1 Yn ystod dyddiau Ahas fab Jotham, fab Usseia, brenin Jwda, daeth Resin brenin Syria, a Pheca fab Remaleia, brenin Israel, i ryfela yn erbyn Jerwsalem, ond methu ei gorchfygu.
1It happened in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.
2 Yr oedd tu375? Dafydd wedi ei rybuddio bod Syria mewn cytundeb ag Effraim; ac yr oedd ei galon ef a'i bobl wedi cynhyrfu fel prennau coedwig yn ysgwyd o flaen y gwynt.
2It was told the house of David, saying, “Syria is allied with Ephraim.” His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.
3 Yna dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Eseia, "Dos allan, a'th fab Searjasub gyda thi, i gyfarfod Ahas wrth derfyn pistyll y llyn uchaf ar ffordd Maes y Pannwr,
3Then Yahweh said to Isaiah, “Go out now to meet Ahaz, you, and Shearjashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, on the highway of the fuller’s field.
4 a dywed wrtho, 'Bydd ofalus, cadw'n dawel a phaid ag ofni; paid digalonni o achos y ddau stwmp hyn o bentewynion myglyd, am fod Resin a'r Syriaid a mab Remaleia yn llosgi gan lid.
4Tell him, ‘Be careful, and keep calm. Don’t be afraid, neither let your heart be faint because of these two tails of smoking torches, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.
5 Oherwydd i Syria ac Effraim a mab Remaleia wneud cynllwyn drwg yn d'erbyn, a dweud,
5Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have plotted evil against you, saying,
6 "Gadewch inni ymosod ar Jwda, a'i dychryn, a'i throi o'n plaid, a gosod brenin arni, sef mab Tabeal,"
6“Let’s go up against Judah, and tear it apart, and let’s divide it among ourselves, and set up a king in its midst, even the son of Tabeel.”
7 dyma y mae'r ARGLWYDD Dduw yn ei ddweud: Ni saif hyn, ac ni ddigwydd.
7This is what the Lord Yahweh says: “It shall not stand, neither shall it happen.”
8 Pen Syria yw Damascus, a phen Damascus yw Resin. Cyn diwedd pum mlynedd a thrigain bydd Effraim wedi ei dryllio a pheidio bod yn bobl.
8For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within sixty-five years Ephraim shall be broken in pieces, so that it shall not be a people;
9 Pen Effraim yw Samaria, a phen Samaria yw mab Remaleia. Oni fyddwch yn sefydlog, ni'ch sefydlogir.'"
9and the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established.’”
10 Llefarodd yr ARGLWYDD eto wrth Ahas, a dweud,
10Yahweh spoke again to Ahaz, saying,
11 "Gofyn am arwydd gan yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw, arwydd o ddyfnder Sheol neu o uchder nefoedd."
11“Ask a sign of Yahweh your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.”
12 Ond atebodd Ahas, "Ni ofynnaf, ac nid wyf am osod yr ARGLWYDD ar brawf."
12But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, neither will I tempt Yahweh.”
13 Dywedodd yntau, "Gwrandewch yn awr, tu375? Dafydd. Ai peth bach yn eich golwg yw trethu amynedd pobl, a'ch bod am drethu amynedd fy Nuw hefyd?
13He said, “Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also?
14 Am hynny, y mae'r ARGLWYDD ei hun yn rhoi arwydd i chwi: Wele ferch ifanc yn feichiog, a phan esgor ar fab, fe'i geilw'n Immanuel.
14Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. “Immanuel” means “God with us.”
15 Bydd yn bwyta menyn a ml pan ddaw i wybod sut i wrthod y drwg a dewis y da.
15He shall eat butter and honey when he knows to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
16 Cyn i'r plentyn wybod sut i wrthod y drwg a dewis y da, fe ddifrodir tir y ddau frenin yr wyt yn eu hofni.
16For before the child knows to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land whose two kings you abhor shall be forsaken.
17 Bydd yr ARGLWYDD yn dwyn arnat ti ac ar dy bobl ac ar du375? dy dad ddyddiau na fu eu tebyg er pan dorrodd Effraim oddi wrth Jwda brenin Asyria."
17Yahweh will bring on you, on your people, and on your father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
18 Yn y dydd hwnnw chwibana'r ARGLWYDD am y gwybedyn o afonydd pell yr Aifft, ac am y wenynen o wlad Asyria;
18It will happen in that day that Yahweh will whistle for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
19 fe ddnt ac ymsefydlu i gyd yn yr hafnau serth ac yn agennau'r creigiau, ar yr holl goed drain ac ar yr holl borfeydd.
19They shall come, and shall all rest in the desolate valleys, in the clefts of the rocks, on all thorn hedges, and on all pastures.
20 Yn y dydd hwnnw bydd yr ARGLWYDD, ag ellyn a logwyd y tu hwnt i'r Ewffrates, brenin Asyria, yn eillio'r holl ben a blew'r traed, a thorri ymaith y farf hefyd.
20In that day the Lord will shave with a razor that is hired in the parts beyond the River, even with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and it shall also consume the beard.
21 Yn y dydd hwnnw bydd rhywun yn cadw'n fyw heffer a dwy ddafad;
21It shall happen in that day that a man shall keep alive a young cow, and two sheep;
22 a chaiff ganddynt ddigon o laeth i fedru bwyta menyn; canys bwyteir menyn a ml gan bob un a adewir yn y wlad.
22and it shall happen, that because of the abundance of milk which they shall give he shall eat butter: for everyone will eat butter and honey that is left in the midst of the land.
23 Yn y dydd hwnnw bydd pob man lle bu mil o winwydd, gwerth mil o ddarnau arian, yn fieri ac yn ddrain.
23It will happen in that day that every place where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silver shekels, shall be for briers and thorns.
24 Daw dynion yno saethau a bwu, canys bydd mieri a drain ym mhobman.
24People will go there with arrows and with bow, because all the land will be briers and thorns.
25 Ni ddaw neb i'r llechweddau lle bu'r gaib unwaith yn trin, rhag ofn y mieri a'r drain; byddant yn lle i ollwng gwartheg iddo, ac yn gynefin defaid.
25All the hills that were cultivated with the hoe, you shall not come there for fear of briers and thorns; but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of sheep.”
