² Fy nghyfeillion, cyfrifwch hi'n llawenydd pur pan syrthiwch i amrywiol brofedigaethau,

³ gan wybod fod y prawf ar eich ffydd yn magu dyfalbarhad.

⁴ A gadewch i ddyfalbarhad gyflawni ei waith, er mwyn ichwi fod yn berffaith a chyflawn, heb fod yn ddiffygiol mewn dim.

⁴Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

⁵ Ac os oes un ohonoch yn ddiffygiol mewn doethineb, gofynned gan Dduw, ac fe'i rhoddir iddo, oherwydd y mae Duw yn rhoi i bawb yn hael a heb ddannod.

⁵But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.

⁶ Ond gofynned mewn ffydd, heb amau, gan fod y sawl sy'n amau yn debyg i don y m�r, sy'n cael ei chwythu a'i chwalu gan y gwynt.

⁶But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.

⁷ Nid yw hwnnw � ac yntau rhwng dau feddwl, yn ansicr yn ei holl ffyrdd � i dybio y caiff ddim gan yr Arglwydd.

⁷For let that man not think that he will receive anything from the Lord.

⁸He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

⁹ Dylai'r credadun distadl ymfalch�o pan ddyrchefir ef,

⁹But let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position;

¹⁰ ond yr un cyfoethog ymfalch�o pan ddarostyngir ef, oherwydd diflannu a wna hwnnw fel blodeuyn y maes.

¹⁰and the rich, in that he is made humble, because like the flower in the grass, he will pass away.

¹¹ Bydd yr haul yn codi yn ei wres tanbaid, a bydd y glaswellt yn crino, ei flodeuyn yn syrthio, a thlysni ei wedd yn darfod. Felly hefyd y diflanna'r cyfoethog yng nghanol ei holl fynd a dod.

¹² Gwyn ei fyd y sawl sy'n dal ei dir mewn temtasiwn, oherwydd ar �l iddo fynd trwy'r prawf fe gaiff, yn goron, y bywyd a addawodd yr Arglwydd i'r rhai sydd yn ei garu ef.

¹²Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.

¹³ Ni ddylai neb sy'n cael ei demtio ddweud, "Oddi wrth Dduw y daw fy nhemtasiwn"; oherwydd ni ellir temtio Duw gan ddrygioni, ac nid yw ef ei hun yn temtio neb.

¹³Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.

¹⁴ Yn wir, pan yw rhywun yn cael ei demtio, ei chwant ei hun sydd yn ei dynnu ar gyfeiliorn ac yn ei hudo.

¹⁴But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.

¹⁵ Yna, y mae chwant yn beichiogi ac yn esgor ar bechod, ac y mae pechod, ar �l cyrraedd ei lawn dwf, yn cenhedlu marwolaeth.

¹⁵Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death.

¹⁶ Peidiwch � chymryd eich camarwain, fy nghyfeillion annwyl.

¹⁶Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers.

¹⁷ Oddi uchod y daw pob rhoi da a phob rhodd berffaith. Disgyn y maent oddi wrth Dad goleuadau'r nef; ac iddo ef ni pherthyn na chyfnewid na chysgod troadau'r rhod.

¹⁷Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

¹⁸ O'i fwriad ei hun y cenhedlodd ef ni trwy air y gwirionedd, er mwyn inni fod yn fath o flaenffrwyth o'i greaduriaid.

¹⁸Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

¹⁹ Ystyriwch, fy nghyfeillion annwyl. Rhaid i bob un fod yn gyflym i wrando, ond yn araf i lefaru, ac yn araf i ddigio,

¹⁹So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;

²⁰ oherwydd nid yw dicter dynol yn hyrwyddo cyfiawnder Duw.

²⁰for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.

²¹ Ymaith gan hynny � phob aflendid, ac ymaith �'r drygioni sydd ar gynnydd, a derbyniwch yn wylaidd y gair hwnnw a blannwyd ynoch, ac sy'n abl i achub eich eneidiau.

²¹Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls or, preserve your life. .

²² Byddwch yn weithredwyr y gair, nid yn wrandawyr yn unig, gan eich twyllo eich hunain.

²²But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.

²³ Oherwydd os yw rhywun yn wrandawr y gair, ac nid yn weithredwr, y mae'n debyg i un yn gweld mewn drych yr wyneb a gafodd;

²³For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror;

²⁴ fe'i gwelodd ei hun, ac yna, wedi iddo fynd i ffwrdd, anghofiodd ar unwaith pa fath un ydoedd.

²⁴for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.

²⁵ Ond am y sawl a roes sylw dyfal i berffaith gyfraith rhyddid ac a ddaliodd ati, a dod yn weithredwr ei gofynion, ac nid yn wrandawr anghofus, bydd hwnnw yn ddedwydd yn ei weithredoedd.

²⁵But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.

²⁶ Os yw rhywun yn tybio ei fod yn grefyddol, ac yntau'n methu ffrwyno'i dafod, ac yn wir yn twyllo'i galon ei hun, yna ofer yw crefydd hwnnw.

²⁶If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.

²⁷ Dyma'r grefydd sy'n bur a dilychwin yng ngolwg Duw ein Tad: bod rhywun yn gofalu am yr amddifad a'r gweddwon yn eu cyfyngder, ac yn ei gadw ei hun heb ei ddifwyno gan y byd.

²⁷Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
