Judges

5

1 Y diwrnod hwnnw canodd Debora a Barac fab Abinoam fel hyn:
1Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying,
2 "Am i'r arweinwyr roi arweiniad yn Israel, am i'r bobl ymroi o'u gwirfodd, bendithiwch yr ARGLWYDD.
2“Because the leaders took the lead in Israel, because the people offered themselves willingly, be blessed, Yahweh!
3 Clywch, frenhinoedd! Gwrandewch, dywysogion! Canaf finnau i'r ARGLWYDD, a moliannu ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel.
3“Hear, you kings! Give ear, you princes! I, even I, will sing to Yahweh. I will sing praise to Yahweh, the God of Israel.
4 "O ARGLWYDD, pan aethost allan o Seir, ac ymdeithio o Faes Edom, fe grynodd y ddaear, glawiodd y nefoedd, ac yr oedd y cymylau hefyd yn diferu du373?r.
4“Yahweh, when you went forth out of Seir, when you marched out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, the sky also dropped. Yes, the clouds dropped water.
5 Siglodd y mynyddoedd o flaen yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Sinai, o flaen ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel.
5The mountains quaked at the presence of Yahweh, even Sinai, at the presence of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
6 "Yn nyddiau Samgar fab Anath, ac yn nyddiau Jael, peidiodd y carafanau; aeth y teithwyr ar hyd llwybrau troellog.
6“In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied. The travelers walked through byways.
7 Darfu am drigolion pentrefi, darfu amdanynt yn Israel nes i mi, Debora, gyfodi, nes i mi godi yn fam yn Israel.
7The rulers ceased in Israel. They ceased until I, Deborah, arose; Until I arose a mother in Israel.
8 Pan ddewiswyd duwiau newydd, yna daeth brwydro i'r pyrth, ac ni welwyd na tharian na gwaywffon ymhlith deugain mil yn Israel.
8They chose new gods. Then war was in the gates. Was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
9 Mae fy nghalon o blaid llywiawdwyr Israel, y rhai ymysg y bobl a aeth o'u gwirfodd. Bendithiwch yr ARGLWYDD.
9My heart is toward the governors of Israel, who offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless Yahweh!
10 "Ystyriwch, chwi sy'n marchogaeth asynnod melyngoch, chwi sy'n eistedd ar gyfrwyau, chwi sy'n cerdded y ffordd.
10“Speak, you who ride on white donkeys, you who sit on rich carpets, and you who walk by the way.
11 Clywch y rhai sy'n disgwyl eu tro ger y ffynhonnau, ac yno'n adrodd buddugoliaethau'r ARGLWYDD, buddugoliaethau ei bentrefwyr yn Israel, pan aeth byddin yr ARGLWYDD i lawr i'r pyrth.
11Far from the noise of archers, in the places of drawing water, there they will rehearse the righteous acts of Yahweh, the righteous acts of his rule in Israel. “Then the people of Yahweh went down to the gates.
12 "Deffro, deffro, Debora! Deffro, deffro, lleisia gn! Cyfod, Barac! Cymer lu o garcharorion, ti fab Abinoam!
12‘Awake, awake, Deborah! Awake, awake, utter a song! Arise, Barak, and lead away your captives, you son of Abinoam.’
13 "Yna fe aeth y gweddill i lawr at y pendefigion, do, fe aeth byddin yr ARGLWYDD i lawr ymysg y cedyrn.
13“Then a remnant of the nobles and the people came down. Yahweh came down for me against the mighty.
14 Daeth rhai o Effraim a lledu drwy'r dyffryn, a gweiddi, 'Ar dy l di, Benjamin, gyda'th geraint!' Aeth llywiawdwyr i lawr o Machir; ac o Sabulon, rhai'n cario gwialen swyddog.
14Those whose root is in Amalek came out of Ephraim, after you, Benjamin, among your peoples. Governors come down out of Machir. Those who handle the marshal’s staff came out of Zebulun.
15 Yr oedd tywysogion Issachar gyda Debora; bu Issachar yn ffyddlon i Barac, yn rhuthro i'r dyffryn ar ei l. Ymysg y rhaniadau yn Reuben yr oedd petruster mawr.
15The princes of Issachar were with Deborah. As was Issachar, so was Barak. They rushed into the valley at his feet. By the watercourses of Reuben, there were great resolves of heart.
16 Pam yr arhosaist rhwng y corlannau i wrando ar chwiban bugeiliaid? Ymysg y rhaniadau yn Reuben yr oedd petruster mawr.
16Why did you sit among the sheepfolds, To hear the whistling for the flocks? At the watercourses of Reuben There were great searchings of heart.
17 Arhosodd Gilead y tu hwnt i'r Iorddonen; a pham yr oedd Dan yn oedi ger y llongau? Arhosodd Aser ar lan y mr, ac oedi gerllaw ei gilfachau.
17Gilead lived beyond the Jordan. Why did Dan remain in ships? Asher sat still at the haven of the sea, and lived by his creeks.
18 Pobl a fentrodd eu heinioes hyd angau oedd Sabulon a Nafftali hefyd, ar uchelfannau maes y gad.
18Zebulun was a people that jeopardized their lives to the deaths; Naphtali also, on the high places of the field.
19 "Daeth brenhinoedd ac ymladd; fe ymladdodd brenhinoedd Canaan yn Taanach ger dyfroedd Megido, ond heb gymryd ysbail o arian.
19“The kings came and fought, then the kings of Canaan fought at Taanach by the waters of Megiddo. They took no plunder of silver.
20 o'r nef ymladdodd y sr, ymladd o'u cylchoedd yn erbyn Sisera.
20From the sky the stars fought. From their courses, they fought against Sisera.
21 "Ysgubodd nant Cison hwy ymaith, cododd llif nant Cison yn eu herbyn. Fy enaid, cerdda ymlaen mewn nerth.
21The river Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. My soul, march on with strength.
22 Yna'r oedd carnau'r ceffylau'n diasbedain gan garlam gwyllt eu meirch cryfion.
22Then the horse hoofs stamped because of the prancings, the prancings of their strong ones.
23 "'Melltigwch Meros,' medd angel yr ARGLWYDD, 'melltigwch yn llwyr ei thrigolion, am na ddaethant i gynorthwyo'r ARGLWYDD, i gynorthwyo'r ARGLWYDD gyda'r gwroniaid.'
23‘Curse Meroz,’ said the angel of Yahweh. ‘Curse bitterly its inhabitants, because they didn’t come to help Yahweh, to help Yahweh against the mighty.’
24 Bendigedig goruwch gwragedd fyddo Jael, gwraig Heber y Cenead; bendithier hi uwch gwragedd y babell.
24“Jael shall be blessed above women, the wife of Heber the Kenite; blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
25 Am ddu373?r y gofynnodd ef, estynnodd hithau laeth; mewn llestr pendefigaidd cynigiodd iddo enwyn.
25He asked for water. She gave him milk. She brought him butter in a lordly dish.
26 Estynnodd ei llaw at yr hoelen, a'i deheulaw at ordd y llafurwyr; yna fe bwyodd Sisera a dryllio'i ben, fe'i trawodd a thrywanu ei arlais.
26She put her hand to the tent peg, and her right hand to the workmen’s hammer. With the hammer she struck Sisera. She struck through his head. Yes, she pierced and struck through his temples.
27 Rhwng ei thraed fe grymodd, syrthiodd, gorweddodd; rhwng ei thraed fe grymodd, syrthiodd; lle crymodd, yno fe syrthiodd yn gelain.
27At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay. At her feet he bowed, he fell. Where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
28 "Edrychai mam Sisera trwy'r ffenestr a llefain trwy'r dellt: 'Pam y mae ei gerbyd yn oedi? Pam y mae twrf ei gerbydau mor hir yn dod?'
28“Through the window she looked out, and cried: Sisera’s mother looked through the lattice. ‘Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why do the wheels of his chariots wait?’
29 Atebodd y ddoethaf o'i thywysogesau, ie, rhoes hithau'r ateb iddi ei hun,
29Her wise ladies answered her, Yes, she returned answer to herself,
30 'Onid ydynt yn cael ysbail ac yn ei rannu llances neu ddwy i bob un o'r dynion, ysbail o frethyn lliw i Sisera, ie, ysbail o frethyn lliw, darn neu ddau o frodwaith am yddfau'r ysbeilwyr?'
30‘Have they not found, have they not divided the spoil? A lady, two ladies to every man; to Sisera a spoil of dyed garments, a spoil of dyed garments embroidered, of dyed garments embroidered on both sides, on the necks of the spoil?’
31 "Felly bydded i'th holl elynion ddarfod, O ARGLWYDD, ond bydded y rhai sy'n dy garu fel yr haul yn codi yn ei rym." Yna cafodd y wlad lonydd am ddeugain mlynedd.
31“So let all your enemies perish, Yahweh, but let those who love him be as the sun when it rises forth in its strength.” Then the land had rest forty years.
