1 Yr oedd y bobl yn cwyno am eu caledi yng nghlyw'r ARGLWYDD, a phan glywodd ef hwy, enynnodd ei lid, a llosgodd tn yr ARGLWYDD yn eu plith gan ddifa un cwr o'r gwersyll.
1The people were complaining in the ears of Yahweh. When Yahweh heard it, his anger was kindled; and Yahweh’s fire burnt among them, and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.
2 Galwodd y bobl ar Moses, a phan weddodd ef ar yr ARGLWYDD, fe ddiffoddodd y tn.
2The people cried to Moses; and Moses prayed to Yahweh, and the fire abated.
3 Galwodd enw'r lle hwnnw yn Tabera, am i dn yr ARGLWYDD losgi yn eu plith.
3The name of that place was called Taberah Taberah means “burning” , because Yahweh’s fire burnt among them.
4 Dechreuodd y lliaws cymysg oedd yn eu mysg chwantu bwyd, ac wylodd pobl Israel eto, a dweud, "Pwy a rydd inni gig i'w fwyta?
4The mixed multitude that was among them lusted exceedingly: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, “Who will give us flesh to eat?
5 Yr ydym yn cofio'r pysgod yr oeddem yn eu bwyta yn rhad yn yr Aifft, a'r cucumerau, y melonau, y cennin, y wynwyn a'r garlleg;
5We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt for nothing; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic;
6 ond yn awr, darfu am ein harchwaeth, ac nid oes dim i'w weld ond manna."
6but now we have lost our appetite. There is nothing at all except this manna to look at.”
7 Yr oedd y manna fel had coriander, ac o'r un lliw grawnwin.
7The manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like the appearance of bdellium.
8 i'r bobl o amgylch i'w gasglu, ac wedi iddynt ei falu mewn melinau, ei guro mewn morter, a'i ferwi mewn crochanau, gwnaent deisennau ohono. Yr oedd ei flas fel petai wedi ei bobi ag olew.
8The people went around, gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in mortars, and boiled it in pots, and made cakes of it. Its taste was like the taste of fresh oil.
9 Pan ddisgynnai'r gwlith ar y gwersyll gyda'r nos byddai'r manna yn disgyn hefyd.
9When the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it.
10 Clywodd Moses y teuluoedd i gyd yn wylo, pob un yn nrws ei babell; enynnodd llid yr ARGLWYDD yn fawr, a bu'n ddrwg gan Moses.
10Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent; and the anger of Yahweh was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased.
11 Yna dywedodd wrth yr ARGLWYDD, "Pam y gwnaethost dro gwael 'th was? Pam na chefais ffafr yn dy olwg, fel dy fod wedi gosod baich yr holl bobl hyn arnaf?
11Moses said to Yahweh, “Why have you treated with your servant so badly? Why haven’t I found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me?
12 Ai myfi a feichiogodd ar yr holl bobl hyn? Ai myfi a'u cenhedlodd? Pam y dywedi wrthyf, 'Cluda hwy yn dy fynwes, fel y bydd tadmaeth yn cludo plentyn sugno, a dos hwy i'r wlad y tyngais y byddwn yn ei rhoi i'w hynafiaid'?
12Have I conceived all this people? Have I brought them forth, that you should tell me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which you swore to their fathers?’
13 O ble y caf fi gig i'w roi i'r holl bobl hyn? Y maent yn wylo ac yn dweud wrthyf, 'Rho inni gig i'w fwyta.'
13Where could I get meat to give to all this people? For they weep to me, saying, ‘Give us meat, that we may eat.’
14 Ni allaf gario'r holl bobl hyn fy hunan; y mae'r baich yn rhy drwm imi.
14I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.
15 Os fel hyn yr wyt am wneud mi, yna lladd fi yn awr, os wyf i gael ffafr yn dy olwg, rhag i mi weld fy nhrueni."
15If you treat me this way, please kill me right now, if I have found favor in your sight; and don’t let me see my wretchedness.”
16 Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses, "Casgla i mi ddeg a thrigain o henuriaid Israel, rhai y gwyddost eu bod yn henuriaid y bobl ac yn swyddogion drostynt, a chymer hwy i babell y cyfarfod, a gwna iddynt sefyll yno gyda thi.
16Yahweh said to Moses, “Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them to the Tent of Meeting, that they may stand there with you.
17 Fe ddof finnau i lawr a llefaru wrthyt yno, a chymeraf beth o'r ysbryd sydd arnat ti a'i roi arnynt hwy; byddant hwy gyda thi i gario baich y bobl, rhag iti ei gario dy hunan.
17I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit which is on you, and will put it on them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you not bear it yourself alone.
18 Dywed wrth y bobl, 'Ymgysegrwch erbyn yfory, a chewch fwyta cig; oherwydd yr ydych wedi wylo yng nghlyw'r ARGLWYDD, a dweud, "Pwy a rydd inni gig i'w fwyta? Yr oeddem yn dda ein byd yn yr Aifft." Felly fe rydd yr ARGLWYDD i chwi gig, a chewch fwyta.
18“Say to the people, ‘Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and you will eat flesh; for you have wept in the ears of Yahweh, saying, “Who will give us flesh to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore Yahweh will give you flesh, and you will eat.
19 Byddwch yn ei fwyta nid am un diwrnod, na dau, na phump, na deg, nac ugain,
19You will not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days,
20 ond am fis cyfan, nes y bydd yn dod allan o'ch ffroenau, a chwithau'n ei gasu; oherwydd yr ydych wedi gwrthod yr ARGLWYDD, sydd yn eich plith, trwy wylo yn ei glyw, a dweud, "Pam y daethom allan o'r Aifft?"'"
20but a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it is loathsome to you; because that you have rejected Yahweh who is among you, and have wept before him, saying, “Why did we come out of Egypt?”’”
21 Ond dywedodd Moses, "Dyma fi yng nghanol chwe chan mil o wu375?r traed, ac eto dywedi, 'Rhof iddynt gig i'w fwyta am fis cyfan!'
21Moses said, “The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand men on foot; and you have said, ‘I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.’
22 A leddir defaid a gwartheg er mwyn eu digoni? Neu a fydd holl bysgod y mr, wedi eu casglu ynghyd, yn ddigon ar eu cyfer?"
22Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to be sufficient for them? Shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to be sufficient for them?”
23 Atebodd yr ARGLWYDD ef, "A yw llaw yr ARGLWYDD yn rhy fyr? Cei weld yn y man a wireddir f'addewid iti ai peidio."
23Yahweh said to Moses, “Has Yahweh’s hand grown short? Now you will see whether my word will happen to you or not.”
24 Aeth Moses ymaith a mynegi i'r bobl eiriau'r ARGLWYDD; yna casglodd ddeg a thrigain o henuriaid y bobl a'u gosod o amgylch y babell.
24Moses went out, and told the people the words of Yahweh; and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them around the Tent.
25 Daeth yr ARGLWYDD i lawr mewn cwmwl, a llefaru wrtho, a chymerodd yr ARGLWYDD beth o'r ysbryd oedd arno ef a'i roi ar yr henuriaid, y deg a thrigain ohonynt; pan orffwysai'r ysbryd arnynt, byddent yn proffwydo, ond ni wnaent ragor na hynny.
25Yahweh came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders: and it happened that when the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.
26 Arhosodd dau o'r dynion yn y gwersyll; eu henwau oedd Eldad a Medad, a gorffwysodd yr ysbryd arnynt hwythau. Yr oeddent hwy ymhlith y rhai a gofrestrwyd, ond am nad oedd-ent wedi mynd allan i'r babell, proffwydasant yn y gwersyll.
26But two men remained in the camp. The name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the Spirit rested on them; and they were of those who were written, but had not gone out to the Tent; and they prophesied in the camp.
27 Pan redodd llanc ifanc a mynegi i Moses fod Eldad a Medad yn proffwydo yn y gwersyll,
27A young man ran, and told Moses, and said, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp!”
28 dywedodd Josua fab Nun, a fu'n gweini ar Moses o'i ieuenctid, "Moses, f'arglwydd, rhwystra hwy."
28Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered, “My lord Moses, forbid them!”
29 Ond dywedodd Moses wrtho, "Ai o'm hachos i yr wyt yn eiddigeddus? O na byddai holl bobl yr ARGLWYDD yn broffwydi, ac y byddai ef yn rhoi ei ysbryd arnynt!"
29Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all Yahweh’s people were prophets, that Yahweh would put his Spirit on them!”
30 Yna dychwelodd Moses a henuriaid Israel i'r gwersyll.
30Moses went into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.
31 Anfonodd yr ARGLWYDD wynt a barodd i soflieir ddod o'r mr a disgyn o amgylch y gwersyll; yr oeddent tua dau gufydd uwchlaw wyneb y tir, ac yn ymestyn dros bellter o daith diwrnod o bob tu i'r gwersyll.
31A wind from Yahweh went out and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day’s journey on this side, and a day’s journey on the other side, around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the earth.
32 Cododd y bobl, a chasglu'r soflieir trwy gydol y dydd hwnnw, trwy'r nos, a thrwy'r dydd drannoeth nes bod yr un a gasglodd leiaf wedi casglu deg homer; yna rhannwyd hwy ymhlith ei gilydd o amgylch y gwersyll.
32The people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails. He who gathered least gathered ten homers; 1 homer is about 220 litres or 6 bushels and they spread them all abroad for themselves around the camp.
33 Pan oedd y cig rhwng eu dannedd yn barod i'w gnoi, enynnodd llid yr ARGLWYDD yn erbyn y bobl, a thrawodd hwy phla mawr iawn.
33While the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of Yahweh was kindled against the people, and Yahweh struck the people with a very great plague.
34 Felly galwyd y lle hwnnw yn Cibroth-hattaafa, oherwydd yno y claddwyd y bobl oedd chwant arnynt.
34The name of that place was called Kibroth Hattaavah, Kibroth Hattaavah means “graves of lust.” because there they buried the people who lusted.
35 Yna aethant o Cibroth-hattaafa i Haseroth, ac aros yno.
35From Kibroth Hattaavah the people traveled to Hazeroth; and they stayed at Hazeroth.
