Song of Solomon

3

1 Bob nos ar fy ngwely ceisiais fy nghariad; fe'i ceisiais, ond heb ei gael.
1By night on my bed, I sought him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn’t find him.
2 Mi godais, a mynd o amgylch y dref, trwy'r heolydd a'r strydoedd; chwiliais am fy nghariad; chwilio, ond heb ei gael.
2I will get up now, and go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn’t find him.
3 Daeth y gwylwyr i'm cyfarfod, wrth iddynt fynd o amgylch y dref, a gofynnais, "A welsoch chwi fy nghariad?"
3The watchmen who go about the city found me; “Have you seen him whom my soul loves?”
4 Ymhen ychydig wedi imi eu gadael, fe gefais fy nghariad; gafaelais ynddo, a gwrthod ei ollwng nes ei ddwyn i du375? fy mam, i ystafell yr un a esgorodd arnaf.
4I had scarcely passed from them, when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother’s house, into the room of her who conceived me.
5 Ferched Jerwsalem, yr wyf yn ymbil arnoch yn enw iyrchod ac ewigod y maes. Peidiwch deffro na tharfu f'anwylyd nes y bydd hi'n dymuno.
5I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, or by the hinds of the field, that you not stir up, nor awaken love, until it so desires.
6 Beth yw hyn sy'n dod o'r anialwch, fel colofn o fwg yn llawn arogl o fyrr a thus, ac o bowdrau marsiandwr?
6Who is this who comes up from the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all spices of the merchant?
7 Dyma gerbyd Solomon; o'i gylch y mae trigain o ddynion cryfion, y rhai cryfaf yn Israel,
7Behold, it is Solomon’s carriage! Sixty mighty men are around it, of the mighty men of Israel.
8 pob un yn cario cleddyf, ac wedi ei hyfforddi i ryfela, pob un 'i gleddyf ar ei glun, yn barod ar gyfer dychryn yn y nos.
8They all handle the sword, and are expert in war. Every man has his sword on his thigh, because of fear in the night.
9 Gwnaeth y Brenin Solomon iddo'i hun gadair gludo o goed Lebanon,
9King Solomon made himself a carriage of the wood of Lebanon.
10 gyda'i pholion o arian, ei chefn o aur, ei sedd o borffor, a'r tu mewn iddi yn lledr o waith merched Jerwsalem.
10He made its pillars of silver, its bottom of gold, its seat of purple, its midst being paved with love, from the daughters of Jerusalem.
11 Dewch allan, ferched Seion, edrychwch ar y Brenin Solomon yn gwisgo'r goron a roddodd ei fam iddo ar ddydd ei briodas, y dydd pan oedd yn llawen.
11Go forth, you daughters of Zion, and see king Solomon, with the crown with which his mother has crowned him, in the day of his weddings, in the day of the gladness of his heart. Lover
