¹در حقیقت شایع شده است که در میان شما یک نوع رابطۀ جنسی نامشروع وجود دارد و این عمل آنقدر زشت است که حتی در میان بی دینان هم یافت نمی شود، زیرا می شنوم که شخصی با زن پدر خود رابطه دارد.

¹It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

²چرا به عوض اینکه خجل گشته و مقصر را از میان خود بیرون کنید، افتخار هم می کنید؟

²And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

³اگرچه من جسماً از شما دور هستم، ولی روحاً حاضرم و چنان شخص مجرم را در نام خداوند عیسی ملامت ساختم که گویی خودم در آنجا حضور داشتم.

³For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

⁴پس وقتی گرد هم می آئید و من در روح بین شما هستم، با حضورِ قدرت خداوند ما عیسی،

⁴In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁵این شخص را به شیطان تسلیم کنید تا نفسِ گناهکار او نابود شود و در روز خداوند یعنی روز داوری، روحش نجات یابد.

⁵To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

⁶فخر شما در این مورد بی جاست. مگر نمی دانید که با کمی خمیرمایه مقدار زیادی خمیر می رسد؟

⁶Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

⁷پس اگر می خواهید خمیر تازه (فطیر) باشید (چنانکه هستید) باید خمیرمایۀ کهنه را تماماً از میان بردارید، زیرا مسیح که «قربانی عید فِصَح» ماست، ذبح شده است.

⁷Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

⁸بنابراین، عید فِصَح را نه با خمیرمایۀ ترش و کهنه که خمیرمایۀ بدخواهی و شرارت است، بلکه با نان فطیر که نان صمیمیت و صداقت است نگاه داریم.

⁸Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

⁹در نامه ای به شما نوشتم که با اشخاص شهوتران معاشرت نکنید.

⁹I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

¹⁰ولی منظور من این نبود که با تمام اشخاص شهوتران این دنیا یا طمعکاران و تقلب کاران و یا بت پرستان کاری نداشته باشید، زیرا در این صورت مجبور می شوید این دنیا را ترک کنید.

¹⁰Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

¹¹بلکه مقصود من این بود که با کسانی که خود را مسیحی می دانند ولی مرتکب زنا، طمع، بت پرستی، ناسزاگویی، مستی و یا تقلب کاری می گردند، معاشرت نکنید. حتی با چنین اشخاص غذا هم نخورید،

¹¹But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

¹²زیرا من با مردم خارج از کلیسا چه کار دارم که دربارۀ آن ها قضاوت کنم؟ وظیفۀ شما این است که نسبت به اهل کلیسا داوری کنیدو داوری مردمی که خارج از کلیسا هستند با خدا خواهد بود. آن مرد شریر را از میان خود برانید!

¹²For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

¹³و داوری مردمی که خارج از کلیسا هستند با خدا خواهد بود. آن مرد شریر را از میان خود برانید!

¹³But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
