¹بعد از آنکه سلیمان دعای خود را تمام کرد، آتشی از آسمان فرود آمد و قربانی های سوختنی و هدایا را سوختاند و جلال خداوند عبادتگاه را پُر کرد.

¹Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

²بنابران، کاهنان نتوانستند به عبادتگاه خداوند داخل شوند.

²And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD's house.

³وقتی مردم اسرائیل دیدند که آتش از آسمان پائین می آید و جلال خداوند را بر عبادتگاه مشاهده کردند، روی خود را بر سنگفرش نهادند، خداوند را سجده کردند، ثنا فرستادند و گفتند: «او نیکوست و رحمت او ابدی است.»

³And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

⁴بعد پادشاه و همه مردم اسرائیل بحضور خداوند قربانی تقدیم کردند.

⁴Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.

⁵و سلیمان پادشاه بیست و دو هزار گاو و یکصد و بیست هزار گوسفند را قربانی کرد و با این مراسم پادشاه و همه مردم، عبادتگاه را برای خداوند وقف کردند.

⁵And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

⁶کاهنان هم به وظایف خود مشغول شدند. همچنین لاویان با آلات موسیقی که داود پادشاه ساخته بود، سرود حمد خداوند را نواختند و خواندند: «محبت او پایدار و ابدی است.» در مقابل آن ها کاهنان، در حالیکه تمام مردم اسرائیل ایستاده بودند، سرنا می نواختند.

⁶And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

⁷سلیمان وسط حویلی پیشروی، عبادتگاه را تقدیس کرد و در آنجا قربانی سوختنی، دُنبه و چربی و قربانی سلامتی تقدیم کرد، زیرا قربانگاه برنجی که سلیمان ساخته بود گنجایش آنهمه قربانی های سوختنی و هدایای آردی و چربی را نداشت.

⁷Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat.

⁸سلیمان و قوم اسرائیل مراسم عید سایبانها را برای هفت روز تجلیل کردند. یک گروه بزرگ مردم از سرحد حمات تا دریای مصر، در آن مراسم شرکت نمودند.

⁸Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt.

⁹آن ها هفت روز را برای تبرک قربانگاه و هفت روز دیگر را برای عید صرف کردند و در روز هشتم جشن دیگری برپا نمودند

⁹And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

¹⁰در روز بیست و سوم ماه هفتم، مردم را به خانه های شان فرستاد و همه بخاطر نیکویی خداوند به داود، سلیمان و قوم اسرائیل، شادمان و خوشحال بودند.

¹⁰And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had showed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

¹¹به این ترتیب، سلیمان بنای عبادتگاه خداوند و قصر شاهی را تمام کرد و همه نقشه ها و کارهای آن دو بنا را با موفقیت کامل به انجام رسانید.

¹¹Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house: and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.

¹²یک شب خداوند بر سلیمان ظاهر شد و به او فرمود: «من دعایت را شنیدم و این جا را برای اجرای مراسم قربانی انتخاب کردم.

¹²And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

¹³هرگاه دریچه های آسمان را ببندم که باران نبارد، یا به ملخ ها امر کنم که محصولات زمین را بخورند و یا مرض را در بین مردم بفرستم،

¹³If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

¹⁴اگر مردم نام مرا یاد کنند، سر تواضع خم نمایند، دست دعا بلند کنند، طالب دیدار من باشند و از راه خطا برگردند، آنوقت من از آسمان می شنوم، گناهان شان را می بخشم و زمین شان را حاصلخیز می سازم.

¹⁴If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

¹⁵از این ببعد چشمان من همیشه باز و گوشهایم برای شنیدن دعائیکه در این جا کرده می شود شنوا خواهند بود.

¹⁵Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

¹⁶این عبادتگاه را برگزیدم و تقدیس کردم تا به ابد بنام من یاد شود. چشم و دل من همیشه به این عبادتگاه خواهد بود.

¹⁶For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

¹⁷و تو هم اگر مثل پدرت، داود راه مرا دنبال کنی و همه احکام، اوامر و فرایض مرا بجا آوری،

¹⁷And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;

¹⁸آنگاه من تخت ترا برقرار می سازم و مثلیکه به پدرت داود گفتم: «از اولاده ات همیشه یک نفر پادشاه اسرائیل خواهد بود»، به تو هم همین وعده را می دهم.

¹⁸Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.

¹⁹اما اگر شما براه راست نروید، احکام و اوامری را که به شما داده ام بجا نیاورید و خدایان بیگانه را سجده و پرستش کنید،

¹⁹But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

²⁰آنوقت من شما را از این سرزمین بیرون می رانم و این عبادتگاه را که بنام خود تقدیس کرده ام ترک می کنم و آنرا در میان همۀ ملتها ضرب المثل و مسخرۀ عام می سازم،

²⁰Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

²¹و هر کسیکه از پیش این عبادتگاه مجلل بگذرد با تعجب سوال کند: «چرا خداوند این بنا را به این حال رقت بار درآورده است؟»و جواب آن این خواهد بود: «بخاطریکه آن ها خداوند، خدای پدران خود را که آن ها را از مصر بیرون آورد، ترک نمودند و دنبال خدایان غیر رفتند و آن ها را پرستش و سجده کردند، بنابران، خداوند این مصیبت را بر سر شان آورد.»»

²¹And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?

²²و جواب آن این خواهد بود: «بخاطریکه آن ها خداوند، خدای پدران خود را که آن ها را از مصر بیرون آورد، ترک نمودند و دنبال خدایان غیر رفتند و آن ها را پرستش و سجده کردند، بنابران، خداوند این مصیبت را بر سر شان آورد.»»

²²And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
