¹اگر از خداوند، خدای تان اطاعت کنید و اوامر او را که امروز به شما می دهم از دل و جان بجا آورید، خداوند، خدای تان شما را از همه اقوام روی زمین برتر می سازد

¹And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

²و تمام این برکات را نصیب تان می کند.

²And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

³در شهر و مزرعه به شما برکت می دهد.

³Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

⁴محصولات فراوان، فرزندان زیاد و گله و رمۀ زیاد به شما می بخشد.

⁴Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

⁵غله و رزق شما را زیاد می سازد.

⁵Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

⁶در هر کاری که می کنید برکت می بینید.

⁶Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

⁷خداوند دشمنان تان را سرکوب و مغلوب می کند. آن ها از یک طرف برای حمله علیه شما می آیند، ولی شکست می خورند و به هفت سو فرار می کنند.

⁷The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

⁸خداوند، خدای تان انبار های تان را پُر از غله می کند و در سرزمینی که به شما می بخشد از هر جهت به شما برکت می دهد.

⁸The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

⁹اگر شما از احکام خداوند، خدای تان اطاعت کنید و در راه او قدم بردارید، او شما را قرار وعده ای که داده است قوم خاص خود می سازد.

⁹The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

¹⁰تمام اقوام روی زمین وقتی ببینند که شما قوم برگزیدۀ خداوند هستید، از شما می ترسند.

¹⁰And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.

¹¹خداوند در سرزمینی که به اجداد تان وعده داده است شما را سعادتمند می سازد، فرزندان زیاد، رمه و گلۀ بسیار و محصولات فراوان به شما می بخشد.

¹¹And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

¹²خداوند دریچه های آسمان را باز می کند و باران را در موسمش برای شما می فرستد. در همه کارهای تان به شما برکت می دهد. شما به بسیاری از اقوام قرض می دهید، اما شما احتیاجی به قرض گرفتن نمی داشته باشید.

¹²The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

¹³خداوند شما را رهبر و برتر از همه مردمان دیگر می سازد، اما بشرطی که از احکام خداوند، خدای تان که امروز به شما می دهم از دل و جان اطاعت کنید،

¹³And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

¹⁴از اوامر او سرکشی ننمائید و پیرو خدایان دیگر نشوید و آن ها را نپرستید.

¹⁴And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

¹⁵اما اگر از خداوند، خدای تان اطاعت نکنید و احکام او را که امروز به شما می دهم از دل و جان بجا نیاورید، به این لعنت ها گرفتار می شوید:

¹⁵But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

¹⁶خداوند شهر و مزرعۀ تان را لعنت می کند.

¹⁶Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

¹⁷میوه و رزق شما را لعنت می کند.

¹⁷Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.

¹⁸فرزندان، محصولات و رمه و گلۀ تان را لعنت می کند.

¹⁸Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

¹⁹هر کاری را که بکنید، لعنت می کند.

¹⁹Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

²⁰اگر خداوند را ترک کنید و به اعمال بد دست بزنید، شما را به مصیبت، وحشت، پریشانی و ناکامی گرفتار می سازد تا بزودی از بین بروید و هلاک شوید.

²⁰The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.

²¹خداوند امراض پی در پی می فرستد تا شما را در آن سرزمینی که به زودی وارد می شوید، بکلی محو سازد.

²¹The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.

²²خداوند شما را با بیماری های ساری، تب، التهاب گرفتار می سازد و گرما و باد سوزان و خشکسالی را می فرستد تا محصولات تان را تلف کنند و شما از آن سرزمین موعود محو شوید.

²²The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

²³باران از آسمان نمی بارد و زمینِ زیر پای تان مثل آهن خشک می شود.

²³And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.

²⁴بجای باران خداوند طوفان گرد و خاک را می فرستد تا شما را هلاک کند.

²⁴The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

²⁵خداوند شما را به دست دشمن مغلوب می سازد. شما از یک سو در مقابل شان بجنگ می روید و از دست شان به هفت سو فرار می کنید. تمام اقوام روی زمین وقتی حال رقت بار شما را ببینند، دچار هراس و وحشت می شوند.

²⁵The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

²⁶اجساد تان خوراک مرغان هوا و حیوانات وحشی می گردند و کسی نمی باشد که آن ها را بترساند و براند.

²⁶And thy carcass shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.

²⁷خداوند شما را به همان دُمَلی که مردم مصر را دچار ساخت، مبتلا می کند. بدنهای تان پر از زخمهای گوناگون می شوند و از خارش آن ها همیشه رنج می برید.

²⁷The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

²⁸خداوند شما را به جنون، کوری و پریشانی خاطر دچار می کند.

²⁸The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

²⁹در روز روشن مثل کوری که در تاریکی راه خود را می یابد، کورکورانه راه می روید. دیگران بر شما ظلم می کنند، مال تان را می دزدند و کسی به کمک تان نمی رسد.

²⁹And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.

³⁰نامزد تان زن شخص دیگری می شود و در خانه ای که می سازید کس دیگری زندگی می کند. تاکستانی را که غرس می کنید میوه اش را نمی چشید.

³⁰Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.

³¹گاوهای تان را در پیش چشمان شما سر می برند، اما شما از گوشت آن ها نمی خورید. خرهای تان را از پیشروی تان می دزدند و دیگر به دست تان نمی آیند. گوسفندان تان به دشمنان تان داده می شوند و کسی به داد تان نمی رسد.

³¹Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.

³²پسران و دختران تان را در برابر چشمان تان به غلامی می برند و هر روز در آرزوی بازگشت شان بیهوده چشم براه می باشید.

³²Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand.

³³مردم بیگانه محصولات تان را که با زحمت زیاد کاشته اید می خورند. همیشه ظلم می بینید و خوار می شوید

³³The fruit of thy land, and all thy labors, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:

³⁴و با دیدن وضع ناگوار اطراف خود دیوانه می شوید.

³⁴So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

³⁵خداوند شما را از سر تا پا به دُمَلهای بی درمان دچار می سازد.

³⁵The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.

³⁶خداوند شما و پادشاه تان را که انتخاب کرده اید می برد و اسیر قومی می سازد که نه شما و نه اجداد تان می شناختید. در آنجا خدایان دیگر را که از چوب و سنگ ساخته شده اند می پرستید.

³⁶The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.

³⁷خداوند شما را در بین اقوام پراگنده می سازد و همگی از دیدن وضع رقت بار تان وحشت می کنند و شما در میان اقوام مایۀ عبرت، رسوا و انگشت نما می شوید.

³⁷And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.

³⁸در زمین تان تخم فراوان می کارید، اما محصول بسیار کم بر می دارید، زیرا ملخها محصول تان را می خورند.

³⁸Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.

³⁹تاکستان غرس می کنید و از آن مراقبت می نمائید، اما شراب آن را نمی نوشید و انگور آن را نمی چینید، زیرا تاکها را کرم می خورد.

³⁹Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.

⁴⁰درختان زیتون در همه جا می رویند، اما از روغن آن ها استفاده نمی کنید، زیرا که میوۀ آن ها پیش از پخته شدن می ریزند.

⁴⁰Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.

⁴¹صاحب پسران و دختران می شوید، ولی آن ها نزد شما باقی نمی مانند، زیرا آن ها به اسارت برده می شوند.

⁴¹Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

⁴²تمام درختان و محصولات زمین تان خوراک ملخ ها می شوند.

⁴²All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.

⁴³بیگانگانی که در بین شما زندگی می کنند، روزبروز با قدرت و ثروتمند می شوند و شما برعکس ضعیفتر و فقیرتر می گردید.

⁴³The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

⁴⁴آن ها به شما قرض می دهند، اما شما نمی توانید به آن ها قرض بدهید و عاقبت آن ها کارفرمای شما می شوند و شما خدمتگار آن ها.

⁴⁴He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

⁴⁵چون شما از خداوند، خدای تان اطاعت نکردید و احکام و قوانین او را که به شما امر فرمود، بجا نیاوردید، این لعنت ها بر سر تان می آید تا شما را نابود سازد.

⁴⁵Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

⁴⁶همۀ این مصیبت ها شامل حال شما و اولادۀ تان می شوند و درس عبرت برای دیگران می باشند.

⁴⁶And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.

⁴⁷چون شما خداوند را بخاطر اینهمه نعمت های فراوانی که به شما داد با خوشی و میل دل بندگی نکردید،

⁴⁷Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

⁴⁸بنابران، خداوند دشمنان را در مقابل شما می فرستد تا در گرسنگی، تشنگی، برهنگی و قحطی خدمت آن ها را بکنید و در زیر یوغ آهنین ظلم دشمن نابود شوید.

⁴⁸Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

⁴⁹خداوند قومی را که زبان شان را نمی دانید از یک سرزمین دوردست مثل عقاب بر سر شما فرود می آورد.

⁴⁹The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

⁵⁰این قوم مردمان سنگدل می باشند که نه بر پیران و نه بر جوانان تان رحم می کنند.

⁵⁰A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young:

⁵¹آن ها گله و رمه و محصولات تان را می خورند و نه گله، نه شراب، نه روغن، نه گوساله و نه بره ای برای تان باقی می گذارند.

⁵¹And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.

⁵²آن ها همه شهرهای سرزمینی را که خداوند، خدای تان به شما می دهد محاصره می کنند تا دیوارهای محکم و بلند آن ها که گمان می کردید شما در پناه آن ها مصئون و محفوظ می باشید، فرو ریزند.

⁵²And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.

⁵³هنگام محاصره از ناچاری گوشت پسران و دختران تان را که خداوند به شما می دهد می خورید.

⁵³And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:

⁵⁴شریف ترین و دلسوز ترین مرد آنقدر درمانده می شود که حتی به برادر، زن و فرزندان خود که هنوز زنده هستند رحم نمی کند، زیرا چیز دیگری ندارند که بخورند

⁵⁴So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:

⁵⁵و از گوشتی که می خورد، یعنی از گوشت فرزندان خود به آن ها نمی دهد.

⁵⁵So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.

⁵⁶همچنین ظریف ترین و لطیف ترین زن که بخاطر ظرافت و لطافت نمی خواست کف پایش بزمین بخورد، وقتی دشمنان شهر را محاصره می کنند، حاضر نمی شود که از خوراک خود به شوهر عزیز و فرزندان خود بدهد. او از ناچاری و قلت غذا، کودک نوزاد خود را همراه با پردۀ بطن پنهان می کند تا آن ها را دور از چشم دیگران مخفیانه و به تنهائی بخورد.

⁵⁶The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

⁵⁷اگر شما بدقت از هر کلمۀ شریعت که در این کتاب نوشته شده است پیروی نکنید و از نام پُرجلال و با هیبت خداوند، خدای تان نترسید،

⁵⁷And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

⁵⁸آنوقت خداوند شما و فرزندان تان را به بلاهای مدهش و امراض مُزمن و بی درمان دچار می سازد.

⁵⁸If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;

⁵⁹خداوند شما را به همان امراضی که در مصر شما را بوحشت انداخت، دچار می سازد و شفا نمی یابید.

⁵⁹Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

⁶⁰همچنین از بلاها و بیماری های ساری دیگری که در این کتاب ثبت نشده اند، رنج می برید و نابود می شوید.

⁶⁰Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.

⁶¹گرچه قبلاً شما مثل ستارگان آسمان بیشمار بودید، تعداد کمی از شما باقی می ماند، زیرا از خداوند، خدای تان اطاعت نکردید.

⁶¹Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

⁶²همانطوریکه خداوند از روی احسان به تعداد شما افزود و خوش شد، به همان قسم از نابودی شما هم خوشحال می شود و شما را از سرزمینی که به زودی در آن وارد می شوید، محو می سازد.

⁶²And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.

⁶³خداوند شما را در بین اقوام در سراسر روی زمین پراگنده می کند. در آنجا خدایان دیگر را که از چوب و سنگ ساخته شده اند و نه شما و نه پدران تان می شناختید، می پرستید.

⁶³And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.

⁶⁴در بین آن اقوام روی آرامش را نمی بینید و یک کف پا هم جا برای استراحت نمی داشته باشید. خداوند دلهای تان را لرزان، چشمان تان را کمبین و روح تان را پژمرده می سازد.

⁶⁴And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.

⁶⁵همیشه در خطر بوده شب و روز در ترس بسر می برید، امیدی در زندگی نمی داشته باشید.

⁶⁵And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:

⁶⁶از هر چیزی که در اطراف تان می بینید وحشت می کنید. در صبح می گوئید: «ای کاش شام می بود!» و در شام می گوئید: «ای کاش صبح می بود!»خداوند شما را دوباره با کشتی به مصر، یعنی به همانجائی که من گفته بودم که هرگز روی آن را نمی بینید، می برد. در آنجا می خواهید که خود را به دشمنان تان بعنوان غلام بفروشید، اما هیچ خریداری پیدا نمی شود.»

⁶⁶And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

⁶⁷خداوند شما را دوباره با کشتی به مصر، یعنی به همانجائی که من گفته بودم که هرگز روی آن را نمی بینید، می برد. در آنجا می خواهید که خود را به دشمنان تان بعنوان غلام بفروشید، اما هیچ خریداری پیدا نمی شود.»

⁶⁷In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

⁶⁸And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
