¹حالا حق انتخاب به دست شما است که کدامیک را انتخاب می کنید: برکت یا لعنت را. وقتی همۀ اینها اتفاق بیفتد و شما در بین اقوام بیگانه ای که خداوند، خدای تان شما را به آنجا رانده است این سخنان مرا بیاد بیاورید

¹And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,

²و بسوی خداوند، خدای تان برگردید و شما و فرزندان تان احکامی را که امروز به شما می دهم از دل و جان بجا آورید.

²And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

³آنوقت خداوند، خدای تان شما را از اسارت آزاد ساخته بر شما رحم می کند و شما را که در بین اقوام بیگانه پراگنده کرده است دوباره جمع می کند.

³That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

⁴حتی اگر در دورترین نقطۀ دنیا هم باشید شما را دوباره یکجا می سازد.

⁴If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:

⁵خداوند، خدای تان شما را بار دیگر به سرزمینی که به اجداد تان تعلق داشت می آورد تا آنرا تصاحب کنید. شما را بیشتر از اجداد تان کامران می سازد و به تعداد شما می افزاید.

⁵And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

⁶برعلاوه، خداوند، خدای تان به شما و فرزندان تان دلهای پاک و فرمانبردار عطا می کند تا خداوند، خدای تان را از دل و جان دوست بدارید و در آن سرزمین همیشه زندگی کنید.

⁶And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

⁷خداوند، خدای تان همۀ این لعنت ها را بر دشمنان و بدخواهان تان که از شما به نفع خود استفاده می کنند می آورد.

⁷And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

⁸شما دوباره مُطیع خداوند می شوید و از احکامی که امروز به شما می دهم پیروی می کنید

⁸And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

⁹و خداوند، خدای تان در تمام کارهای تان به شما برکت می دهد. فرزندان زیاد به شما عطا می کند و گله و رمه و محصولات زمین تان را فراوان می سازد، زیرا خداوند بار دیگر از شما خوشنود می شود، مثلیکه از اجداد شما خوشنود بود.

⁹And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:

¹⁰پس شما باید از احکام خداوند، خدای تان که در این کتاب ذکر شده اند، اطاعت کنید و با تمام دل و جان بسوی او برگردید.

¹⁰If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

¹¹پیروی از این احکامی که امروز به شما می دهم برای شما مشکل و از دسترس تان دور نیستند.

¹¹For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

¹²در آسمان قرار ندارند که بگوئید: «چه کسی می تواند به آسمان برود و آن ها را برای ما بیاورد تا بشنویم و از آن ها اطاعت کنیم؟»

¹²It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

¹³و نه در ماورای ابحار هستند که بگوئید: «کیست که بتواند به آن طرف بحر عبور کرده آن ها را برای ما بیاورد تا بشنویم و از آن ها اطاعت کنیم؟»

¹³Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

¹⁴برعکس، این احکام به شما بسیار نزدیک هستند. آن ها بر لبها و در دلهای تان جا دارند تا بتوانید از آن ها پیروی کنید.

¹⁴But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

¹⁵من امروز زندگی و نیکویی، مرگ و بدبختی را در برابر شما قرار داده ام.

¹⁵See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

¹⁶اگر از احکام خداوند، خدای تان که امروز به شما می دهم اطاعت کنید، او را دوست بدارید، در راه او قدم بردارید و اوامر، قوانین و فرایض او را بجا آورید، آنوقت عمر طولانی داشته به تعداد تان افزوده می شود و خداوند، خدای تان در سرزمینی که وارد می شوید به شما برکت می دهد.

¹⁶In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

¹⁷اما اگر نافرمانی کنید و گوش ندهید، بدنبال خدایان غیر بروید و آن ها را سجده کنید و بپرستید،

¹⁷But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

¹⁸امروز به شما اعلام می کنم که وقتی از دریای اُردن عبور کنید و در آن سرزمین موعود برسید عمر تان کوتاه بوده بزودی هلاک می شوید.

¹⁸I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

¹⁹من آسمان و زمین را شاهد می گیرم که امروز زندگی، مرگ، برکت و لعنت را در برابر شما قرار داده ام. پس زندگی را انتخاب کنید تا شما و فرزندان تان زنده بمانید.خداوند، خدای تان را دوست بدارید، از او اطاعت کنید و به او وفادار باشید، زیرا که او زندگی شما است و به شما و فرزندان تان در آن سرزمینی که به اجداد تان، ابراهیم، اسحاق و یعقوب وعده فرموده است عمر طولانی می دهد.»

¹⁹I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

²⁰خداوند، خدای تان را دوست بدارید، از او اطاعت کنید و به او وفادار باشید، زیرا که او زندگی شما است و به شما و فرزندان تان در آن سرزمینی که به اجداد تان، ابراهیم، اسحاق و یعقوب وعده فرموده است عمر طولانی می دهد.»

²⁰That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
