¹خداوند در مصر به موسی و هارون فرمود:

¹And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,

²«از این به بعد، این ماه برای شما اولین ماه سال باشد.

²This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

³به تمام قوم اسرائیل هدایت بده که هر سال در روز دهم همین ماه طبق رسم هر خانواده بره ای تهیه کنند.

³Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

⁴اگر تعداد خانواده کم باشد و نتواند بره را کاملاً بخورد، می تواند با همسایۀ مجاور خود شریک شود، یعنی هر خانواده نظر به تعداد افراد خود و به اندازۀ خوراک خود در قیمت بره سهم بگیرد.

⁴And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

⁵این بره خواه گوسفند خواه بز، باید نر و یک ساله و بی عیب باشد.

⁵Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

⁶در شام روز چهاردهم تمام قوم اسرائیل بره های خود را قربانی کنند.

⁶And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

⁷سپس مقداری از خون آنرا بر دو طرف چوکات و سر دروازۀ خانه ای که بره در آن خورده می شود، بپاشند.

⁷And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

⁸در همان شب تمام گوشتها را کباب کرده با نان فطیر (بدون خمیرمایه) و سبزیجات تلخ بخورند.

⁸And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

⁹این گوشت نباید خام و یا جوش داده خورده شود، بلکه آن را با کله و پاچه و اجزای داخلی آن روی آتش کباب کرده بخورند.

⁹Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.

¹⁰گوشت را نباید تا صبح نگاهدارید و اگر چیزی از آن باقی بماند آن را در آتش بسوزانید.

¹⁰And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

¹¹شما باید با عجله بره را بخورید، کفشهای تان را بپا و عصای تان را به دست بگیرید، زیرا این عید فِصَح است و آن را به احترام من، خداوند برگزار کنید.

¹¹And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD's passover.

¹²در آن شب من از مصر عبور می کنم و تمام اولباری های مصری، چه انسان و چه حیوان، همه را می کشم. من خداوند هستم و تمام خدایان مصر را مجازات می کنم.

¹²For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

¹³خونی که بر دو طرف چوکات و بر سر دروازۀ خانۀ تان می پاشید، نشانه ای بر خانه های تان می باشد و وقتی من آن خون را ببینم از شما می گذرم و تنها مصریان را هلاک می کنم و به شما هیچ آسیبی نمی رسانم.

¹³And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

¹⁴شما باید آن روز را همیشه بخاطر داشته باشید و آنرا به عنوان عید خداوند همیشه جشن بگیرید تا کاری را که من برای شما کرده ام بیاد داشته باشید. این عید را به عنوان یک آئین همیشگی نسل بعد از نسل تجلیل کنید.»

¹⁴And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

¹⁵خداوند فرمود: «در این عید که مدت هفت روز طول می کشد، باید نان فطیر بخورید. در روز اول عید تمام خمیرمایه را از خانۀ خود بیرون کنید. اگر کسی در دوران این هفت روز نان فطیر بخورد، باید از میان قوم اسرائیل منقطع شود.

¹⁵Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

¹⁶در روز اول و هفتم باید تمام قوم یکجا جمع شوند و به عبادت خدا بپردازند. در این دو روز بغیر از تدارک غذا نباید به هیچ کاری دیگر دست زد.

¹⁶And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.

¹⁷عید فطیر به شما یادآوری می کند که من در چنین روزی قبایل شما را از مصر بیرون آوردم. بنابراین، بر شما و نسلهای آیندۀ شما واجب است که این عید را جشن بگیرید.

¹⁷And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.

¹⁸از شام روز چهاردهم ماه اول تا شام روز بیست و یکم شما باید نان فطیر بخورید.

¹⁸In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.

¹⁹برای هفت روز نباید اثری از خمیرمایه در خانه های تان باشد. اگر کسی در این مدت نان خمیرمایه دار بخورد، خواه بیگانه باشد خواه اهل آنجا، باید از میان قوم اسرائیل طرد شود.

¹⁹Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.

²⁰باز می گویم که شما نباید نان خمیرمایه دار بخورید، بلکه فقط نان فطیر بخورید.»

²⁰Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.

²¹موسی تمام رهبران قوم اسرائیل را نزد خود فراخوانده به آن ها گفت: «هرکدام از شما یک برۀ گوسفند یا بز برای خانوادۀ تان گرفته آنرا برای عید فِصَح قربانی کنید.

²¹Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

²²سپس یک دسته جارو بوته را در خون بره که در طشت ریخته شده غوطه کنید و خون را به سر در و دو طرف چوکات دروازۀ خانه های تان بپاشید. هیچ یک از شما نباید تا صبح از خانه بیرون برود.

²²And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

²³در آن شب خداوند از مصر عبور می کند تا مصریان را بکشد، اما وقتی خون را بر سر و دو طرف چوکات دروازۀ خانه های شما ببیند، از آنجا می گذرد و به فرشتۀ مرگ اجازه نمی دهد که به خانه های شما داخل شود و شما را هلاک کند.

²³For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

²⁴بر شما و فرزندان شما واجب است که این قانون را برای همیشه حفظ کنید.

²⁴And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.

²⁵بعد وقتی به سرزمینی که خداوند وعدۀ ملکیت آن را به شما داده است وارد شدید، این مراسم را بجا آورید.

²⁵And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.

²⁶وقتی فرزندان شما بپرسند که معنی این مراسم چیست؟

²⁶And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

²⁷بگوئید عید فِصَح را به احترام خداوند جشن می گیریم، زیرا شبی که خداوند از خانه های بنی اسرائیل در مصر عبور نمود، مصری ها را هلاک کرد، ولی به ما آسیبی نرساند.» بنی اسرائیل زانو زدند و خداوند را پرستش کردند.

²⁷That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

²⁸سپس رفتند و آنچه را که خداوند توسط موسی و هارون به آن ها هدایت داده بود انجام دادند.

²⁸And the children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

²⁹در حدود نیمۀ شب خداوند تمام اولباری های مصری را، از پسر اولباری فرعون که ولیعهد او بود گرفته تا اولباری اسیری که در سیاهچال زندانی بود و همچنین اولباری حیوانات را کشت.

²⁹And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

³⁰در آن شب فرعون و اهل دربار او و همۀ مردم مصر بیدار شدند و گریه و شیون بزرگی در مصر بر پا شد، زیرا خانه ای نبود که در آن کسی نَمُرده باشد.

³⁰And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

³¹در همان شب فرعون، موسی و هارون را به حضور خود خواست و به آن ها گفت: «شما و همۀ قوم اسرائیل از مصر خارج شوید و سرزمین مرا ترک کنید و هر طوری که می خواهید خداوند را بپرستید.

³¹And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.

³²گله ها و رمه های خود را نیز با خود ببرید. برای من هم دعا کنید.»

³²Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.

³³مردم مصر اصرار می کردند که بنی اسرائیل هر چه زودتر سرزمین آن ها را ترک کنند. چون می گفتند: «اگر شما از اینجا نروید همۀ ما خواهیم مرد.»

³³And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.

³⁴بنابراین اسرائیلی ها تغاره های پُر از خمیر فطیر را در پارچه پیچیدند و بر دوش خود گذاشتند.

³⁴And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

³⁵سپس بنی اسرائیل همانطوری که موسی به آن ها گفته بود، از همسایه های خود زیورات طلا و نقره و لباس خواستند.

³⁵And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:

³⁶خداوند بنی اسرائیل را در نظر مصری ها عزیز و محترم ساخته بود و هر چه از آن ها خواستند به آن ها دادند. به این ترتیب اسرائیلی ها ثروت مصریان را با خود بردند.

³⁶And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

³⁷بنی اسرائیل که تعداد آن ها بغیر از زنها و اطفال در حدود ششصد هزار مرد بود، پیاده از رعمسیس به سُکوت کوچ کردند.

³⁷And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.

³⁸همچنین عدۀ زیادی از مردم دیگر هم با گله ها و رمه های خود با آن ها همراه بودند.

³⁸And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

³⁹آن ها از همان خمیر فطیر که از مصر با خود آورده بودند نان پختند. زیرا با عجله از مصر خارج شده بودند و فرصت آن را نداشتند که نان بپزند یا توشۀ راه را تهیه کنند.

³⁹And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.

⁴⁰بنی اسرائیل مدت چهارصد و سی سال در مصر زندگی کرده بودند.

⁴⁰Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.

⁴¹در آخرین روز چهارصد و سیُمین سال، تمام قبایل قوم خداوند از مصر بیرون رفتند.

⁴¹And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

⁴²این همان شبی بود که خداوند برای نجات آن ها از مصر تعیین فرموده بود و شبی است که وقفِ خداوند شد تا بنی اسرائیل برای همیشه به یاد خداوند آن را جشن بگیرند.

⁴²It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.

⁴³خداوند به موسی و هارون فرمود: «این مقررات عید فِصَح است: هیچ بیگانه ای نباید از غذای فِصَح بخورد.

⁴³And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:

⁴⁴اما هر غلام زر خریدی که ختنه شده باشد، می تواند از آن بخورد.

⁴⁴But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.

⁴⁵مهمانان غیر یهودی و مزدوران نباید از آن بخورند.

⁴⁵A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof.

⁴⁶تمام آن غذا را باید در خانه ای که تهیه شده است بخورید. چیزی از آن غذا را بیرون نبرید و هیچیک از استخوانهای آن را نشکنید.

⁴⁶In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.

⁴⁷تمام قوم اسرائیل این عید را تجلیل کنند.

⁴⁷All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.

⁴⁸کسی که ختنه نشده نباید از آن بخورد. اما اگر بیگانگانی که در بین شما زندگی می کنند و بخواهند این مراسم را برای خداوند برگزار نمایند، اول باید تمام افراد ذکور خانوادۀ شان ختنه شوند. آنگاه می توانند مانند شما در آن مراسم شرکت کنند.

⁴⁸And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.

⁴⁹تمام اسرائیلی ها اصلی و بیگانگانی که ختنه شده اند و در میان شما ساکن اند شامل این مقررات می باشند.»

⁴⁹One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

⁵⁰تمام قوم اسرائیل احکام خداوند را که بوسیلۀ موسی و هارون به آن ها داده شده بود، اطاعت کردند.در همان روز، خداوند قبایل اسرائیل را از مصر بیرون آورد.

⁵⁰Thus did all the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

⁵¹در همان روز، خداوند قبایل اسرائیل را از مصر بیرون آورد.

⁵¹And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the LORD did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
