¹پیام خداوند در رؤیا به حبَقوق:

¹The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.

²ای خداوند، تا به کی برای کمک بحضور تو زاری کنم تا به فریادم برسی؟ تا به کی از ظلم فریاد کنم تا تو بشنوی و به کمکم بشتابی؟

²O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!

³چطور راضی می شوی که اینهمه بی عدالتی ها را ببینم؟ چرا کاری نمی کنی و به ظلم و ستم خاتمه نمی دهی؟ با خرابی و ظلم روبرو هستم و به هر طرف که می نگرم جنگ و دشمنی را می بینم.

³Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.

⁴هیچ کسی پابند قانون نیست و به آن اهمیتی نمی دهد. عدالت اجراء نمی شود. اشخاص شریر همیشه در محکمه ها دعوا را می برند، افراد راستکار را شکست می دهند و عدالت معنی و مفهوم خود را از دست داده است.

⁴Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

⁵«به اقوام اطراف خود نگاه کنید، از آنچه که می بینید تعجب کنید، زیرا در دوران زندگی شما کاری می کنم که حتی وقتی خبر آن را بشنوید، باور نکنید.

⁵Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

⁶من کلدانیان را که مردم بی رحم و ظالم هستند به قدرت می رسانم. آن ها به تمام روی زمین هجوم آورده همه جا را تصرف می کنند.

⁶For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not their's.

⁷آن ها در سنگدلی و بی باکی شهرت دارند و آنقدر مغرور هستند که هر کاری که می کنند در نظر شان معقول و قانونی است.

⁷They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.

⁸اسپهای شان زیرکتر از پلنگ و سریعتر از گرگهای گرسنه هستند. سواران آن ها از جاهای دوردست می آیند و مانند عقاب بر شکار خود فرود می آیند.

⁸Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

⁹با بی رحمی حمله می کنند و مثل ریگ اسیر می گیرند.

⁹They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.

¹⁰پادشاهان را مسخره می کنند و به بزرگان می خندند. قلعه ها را هیچ می شمارند و در پشت دیوار آن ها از خاک پُشته می سازند و آن ها را تصرف می کنند.

¹⁰And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.

¹¹مثل باد هجوم می برند و بعد پی کار خود می روند. آن ها مردم گناهکار هستند، زیرا قوت خود را خدای خود می دانند.»

¹¹Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

¹²ای خداوند، تو از ازل خدا بوده ای! تو خدای من، خدای مقدس و ابدی هستی. خداوندا، تو خدا و حافظ ما هستی. تو به کلدانیان قدرت دادی تا ما را مجازات کنند.

¹²Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

¹³چشمان تو پاکتر از آن است که بر گناه بنگرند. تو بی عدالتی را تحمل نمی کنی، پس چرا وقتیکه مردم شریر اشخاص بیگناه را که از خود شان صادقترند می بلعند، خاموش می مانی؟

¹³Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

¹⁴تو مردم را مثل ماهیان و خزندگانِ بی دفاع به دام کلدانیان می اندازی.

¹⁴And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?

¹⁵آن ها با تور خود مردم را به دام می اندازند و برای اینکه آن ها را شکار کرده اند، خوشی و شادمانی می کنند.

¹⁵They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.

¹⁶بعد می روند و تورهای خود را می پرستند و برای آن ها قربانی می کنند، زیرا تورهای شان خوراک و ثروت برای آن ها آورده است.پس آیا تو به آن ها اجازه می دهی که برای همیشه به کشتار بی رحمانۀ خود ادامه بدهند؟

¹⁶Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.

¹⁷پس آیا تو به آن ها اجازه می دهی که برای همیشه به کشتار بی رحمانۀ خود ادامه بدهند؟

¹⁷Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?
