¹در آن روز این سرود در سرزمین یهودا خوانده می شود: شهر ما قوی است، زیرا خدا خودش حصارهای آنرا حفظ می کند.

¹In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

²دروازه های شهر را باز کنید تا قوم راستکار و با وفا داخل شوند.

²Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

³خداوندا، تو کسانی را که به تو توکل و عقیدۀ راسخ دارند، در آرامش کامل نگاه می داری.

³Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

⁴همیشه بر خداوند توکل کنید، چونکه او پناهگاه ابدی ما است.

⁴Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

⁵کسانی را که مغرور و متکبر بودند، ذلیل ساخته و شهرهای قوی و مستحکم آن ها را ویران و با خاک یکسان کرده است.

⁵For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

⁶مردم ستمدیده و نیازمند خرابه های شهر را در زیر پاهای خود لگدمال می کنند.

⁶The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.

⁷راه مردم راستکار راست است. ای خدای عادل راه آن ها را صاف و هموار گردان.

⁷The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.

⁸ما از ارادۀ تو پیروی می کنیم و چشم امید ما بسوی تو و روح و تن ما مشتاق تو است.

⁸Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

⁹قلب من شبها در اشتیاق تو می تپد و هنگام صبح روح من ترا می طلبد. وقتیکه جهان را داوری کنی، آنگاه مردم مفهوم عدالت را می دانند.

⁹With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

¹⁰هرچند تو بر مردم شریر مهربان هستی، اما آن ها هرگز یاد نمی گیرند که خوبی کنند. آن ها در سرزمین راستکاران به شرارت خود ادامه می دهند و به جلال و عظمت خداوند اعتنائی نمی کنند.

¹⁰Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.

¹¹خداوندا، دشمنانت نمی دانند که تو آن ها را جزا می دهی. نشان بده که به قوم برگزیدۀ خود محبت داری تا آن ها خجل شوند و در آتش خشم تو بسوزند.

¹¹LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.

¹²خداوندا، تو صلح و سلامتی را شامل حال ما کرده ای و کامرانی و سعادت ما از جملۀ کارهای تو است.

¹²LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.

¹³ای خداوند خدای ما، پادشاهان زیادی بر ما حکومت کرده اند، ولی تو یگانه پادشاه و خداوند ما هستی.

¹³O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.

¹⁴حالا دشمنان تو مرده اند و دیگر باز نمی گردند، زیرا تو آن ها را مجازات کردی و از بین بردی و یاد شان را از خاطره ها محو ساختی.

¹⁴They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.

¹⁵اما تو ای خداوند، به تعداد قوم برگزیدۀ خود افزودی، کشور ما را وسیع کردی و به ما عزت و افتخار بخشیدی.

¹⁵Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.

¹⁶خداوندا، قوم در هنگام سختی در طلب تو بودند و هنگامی که آن ها را جزا دادی، در خفا بدرگاه تو دعا کردند.

¹⁶LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer when thy chastening was upon them.

¹⁷ای خداوند، ما پیش تو مثل زن حامله ای هستیم که در هنگام زایمان از درد فریاد می کشد.

¹⁷Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.

¹⁸ما درد و عذاب کشیدیم، اما چیزی نزائیدیم و نتوانستیم در زمین نجات به ظهور بیاوریم.

¹⁸We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

¹⁹مردگان تو دوباره زنده می شوند، اجساد شان از خاک بر می خیزند و سرود شادمانی را می خوانند، زیرا مثل شبنم صبحگاهی که نباتات را تازه می کند، شبنم حیاتبخش تو هم آن ها را که سالهای دراز در زیر خاک خفته اند، زنده می سازد.

¹⁹Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

²⁰ای قوم من، به خانه های خود بروید، دروازه را پشت سر تان ببندید و برای مدت کوتاهی مخفی شوید تا خشم خدا فرونشیند.زیرا خداوند از آسمان می آید تا مردم روی زمین را به جزای گناهان شان برساند. قاتلانی که خون مردم را ریخته اند شناخته می شوند و زمین دیگر اجساد مقتولین را در خود پنهان نمی کند.

²⁰Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

²¹زیرا خداوند از آسمان می آید تا مردم روی زمین را به جزای گناهان شان برساند. قاتلانی که خون مردم را ریخته اند شناخته می شوند و زمین دیگر اجساد مقتولین را در خود پنهان نمی کند.

²¹For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
