¹خدا می گوید: «ای جزیره ها خاموش باشید و به من گوش بدهید! بگذارید مردم نیروی تازه بیابند. نزدیک بیایند و حرف بزنند و دعوای خود را به محکمه ارائه کنند. آنگاه به اتفاق هم رأی می دهیم که حق بجانب کیست.

¹Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.

²چه کسی آن مرد فاتح را از مشرق زمین آورد که به هر جائی که می رود، مردم را مغلوب می سازد و پادشاهان را سرکوب می کند. با شمشیر خود آن ها را مانند گَرد به زمین می ریزد و با کمان خود چون پَرِ کاه پراگنده می سازد.

²Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.

³آن ها را تا جاهای دور که پیش از آن پایش نرسیده بود، تعقیب می کند و بی خطر پیش می رود.

³He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet.

⁴چه کسی چنین کارها را کرده است؟ چه کسی سرنوشت مردم را نسل اندر نسل تعیین نموده است؟ من هستم، خداوند که خدای ازلی و ابدی هستم.

⁴Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.

⁵مردمان جزیره ها و سرزمینهای دوردست چون کارهای مرا دیدند، از ترس لرزیدند و همگی با هم جمع شده آمدند.

⁵The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.

⁶یکدیگر را کمک و تشویق می نمایند.

⁶They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.

⁷نجار و زرگر و آهنگر با هم یکجا کار می کنند و اجزای بت را بهم وصل کرده آنرا با میخ ثابت و استوار می سازند.

⁷So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.

⁸اما تو ای اسرائیل، بندۀ من، و تو ای یعقوب، برگزیدۀ من و ذُریت دوست من، ابراهیم،

⁸But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.

⁹من ترا از دورترین نقاط جهان فرا خواندم و گفتم: «تو بندۀ من هستی، من ترا برگزیدم و ترکت نمی کنم.»

⁹Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.

¹⁰نترس، زیرا من با تو هستم. هراسان نباش، چون من خدای تو ام. من به تو نیرو می بخشم و کمکت می کنم و از تو حمایت کرده نجاتت می دهم.

¹⁰Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

¹¹کسانی که بر تو خشمگین هستند، خجل و رسوا می شوند و آنهائی که مخالف تو اند، نیست و نابود می گردند.

¹¹Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.

¹²همۀ کسانی که با تو جنگ و دعوا دارند، از بین می روند و دیگر روی شان را نمی بینی.

¹²Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

¹³زیرا من خداوند، خدای تو دست راستت را می گیرم و می گویم: نترس، من به تو کمک می کنم.»

¹³For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

¹⁴خداوند می فرماید: «ای یعقوب و ای اسرائیل، اگرچه کوچک و ضعیف هستی، ولی نترس، زیرا من، خدای قدوس اسرائیل، خداوند تو، مددگار تو و نجات بخشای تو هستم.

¹⁴Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁵من ترا یک خرمن کوب با دندانه های تیز و نو می سازم، تا کوهها را خُرد و هموار کنی و تپه ها را مانند کاه پاشان سازی.

¹⁵Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.

¹⁶تو آن ها را به هوا می افشانی و باد آن ها را پراگنده می سازد. آنگاه از من که خداوند و قدوس اسرائیل هستم، خوشحال می شوی و به من فخر می کنی.

¹⁶Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁷وقتی مردمان فقیر و محتاج به جستجوی آب بروند و نیابند و زبان شان از تشنگی خشک شود، من که خداوند هستم، دعای شان را اجابت می کنم. خدای اسرائیل هستم و آن ها را ترک نمی کنم.

¹⁷When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

¹⁸بر تپه های خشک برای آن ها رودها را جاری می سازم، در میان دره ها چشمه های آب را باز می کنم، بیابان را به حوض آب تبدیل می نمایم و زمینهای خشک را چشمه سار می سازم.

¹⁸I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

¹⁹در بیابان درختان سرو آزاد، اکاسی و زیتون و در صحرا شمشاد، صنوبر، کاج و چنار می رویانم،

¹⁹I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:

²⁰تا همه ببینند و در این باره تفکر و تأمل کنند و بدانند که دست قدرت خداوند، قدوس اسرائیل اینها را آفریده است.»

²⁰That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

²¹خداوند، پادشاه یعقوب می فرماید: «بگذارید خدایان اقوام دیگر دعوای خود را اقامه کنند و دلایل قوی خود را ارائه دارند.

²¹Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.

²²بگذارید بیایند و آنچه را که در گذشته اتفاق افتاده است، برای ما بیان کنند، و از آینده به ما خبر بدهند تا بدانیم که چه وقت همۀ اینها رخ می دهند.

²²Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.

²³بلی، برای ما پیش بینی کنند تا ما بدانیم که آن ها واقعاً خدا هستند. کاری کنند، خوب یا بد، تا ما بترسیم و وحشت کنیم.

²³Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

²⁴اما آن ها هیچ چیزی نیستند و هیچ کاری کرده نمی توانند و هر کسی که آن ها را برگزیند، کار بیهوده ای می کند.

²⁴Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.

²⁵من شخصی را از شرق انتخاب کرده ام. او از شمال حمله می کند و خداوند او را بنام می خواند و پادشاهان را مانند گِل کوزه گر پایمال می کند.

²⁵I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.

²⁶آیا کسی پیشگوئی کرده است که این واقعات رخ می دهد تا ما یقین کنیم که او راست می گوید. اما هیچ کسی در این باره حرفی نزده و چیزی را اعلام نکرده و کسی هم چیزی نشنیده است.

²⁶Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.

²⁷من اولین کسی بودم که به سهیون خبر آوردم و به اورشلیم مژده دهنده ای بخشیدم.

²⁷The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings.

²⁸اما در میان خدایان کسی را نیافتم که مشوره ای داده بتواند و یا به سوال من جواب بدهد.همۀ این خدایان، بتهای بی جان هستند. از دست شان چیزی بر نمی آید و اجسام ضعیف و ناتوان اند.

²⁸For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.

²⁹همۀ این خدایان، بتهای بی جان هستند. از دست شان چیزی بر نمی آید و اجسام ضعیف و ناتوان اند.

²⁹Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.
