¹«گناهان یهودا با قلم آهنین که نوکش از الماس است بر دلهای شان نوشته و بر چهار گوشۀ قربانگاه آن ها حک شده است.

¹The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

²فرزندان شان هم کارهای اجداد خود را از یاد نبرده اند و در زیر هر درخت سبز، بر هر تپۀ بلند،

²Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.

³بر سر هر کوه و در دشت و صحرا تمثال بت اَشیره را قرار داده آن را می پرستند. پس بخاطر گناهان تان تمام ثروت و خزاین شما را به تاراج می دهم

³O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.

⁴و مجبور می شوید تا این سرزمین را که بعنوان میراث به شما داده ام از دست بدهید و دشمنان تان را در کشورهای بیگانه خدمت کنید، زیرا شما آتش خشم مرا برافروخته اید.»

⁴And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.

⁵خداوند می فرماید: «لعنت بر کسانی که بر انسان خاکی اتکاء و بر قدرت او اعتماد می کنند و دل شان از خداوند دور است.

⁵Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

⁶آن ها مانند بوته ای هستند که در بیابان و زمین شوره زار و غیر مسکون می روید و تازه و سبز نمی شود.

⁶For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

⁷خوشا بحال کسی که بر خدا توکل می کند و چشم امید بسوی او دارد.

⁷Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

⁸او مثل درختی است که در کنار جوی آب کاشته شده است و ریشه هایش از هر طرف به آب می رسند. از گرما نمی ترسد و برگهایش سبز می مانند. در زمان خشکسالی اندیشه ای نداشته و از ثمر دادن باز نمی ایستد.

⁸For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

⁹دل از همه چیز فریبنده تر است و ناعلاج. کیست که آنرا بداند؟

⁹The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

¹⁰تنها من، خداوند، افکار پنهانی را می دانم و دل انسان را جستجو می کنم. هر کسی را مطابق اعمالش و ثمرۀ کردارش جزا می دهم.

¹⁰I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

¹¹انسانی که دارائی خود را از راه غیر مشروع می اندوزد، مثل کبکی است که تخم های پرندگان دیگر را جمع می کند و بر آن ها می نشیند. همانطور که چوچه ها بزرگ می شوند و کبک را ترک می کنند، او هم دارائی خود را در اوج زندگی از دست می دهد و سرانجام حماقت خود را ثابت می سازد.»

¹¹As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

¹²موضِع عبادتگاه مقدس ما تخت رفیع و با شکوه ازلی است.

¹²A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.

¹³ای خداوند! ای امید اسرائیل! همه کسانی که ترا ترک کنند، خجل و سرافگنده می شوند و آنهائی که از تو روبرگردانند، مانند نوشتۀ روی خاک محو می گردند، زیرا آن ها ترا که خداوند و چشمۀ آب حیات هستی، ترک کرده اند.

¹³O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.

¹⁴خداوندا، تو مرا شفا بده تا بکلی شفا یابم، تو مرا نجات بده تا همیشه در امان باشم و من ترا ستایش می کنم.

¹⁴Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

¹⁵مردم به من می گویند: «کجاست کلام تهدید کنندۀ خدا؟ پس حالا آن باید واقع شود.»

¹⁵Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.

¹⁶من هرگز از بودن شبان برای پیروی تو فرار نکرده ام و از تو نخواسته ام که بلائی را بر سر آن ها بیاوری. تو می دانی که من چه گفته ام و از تو پنهان نبوده است.

¹⁶As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.

¹⁷پس مرا دچار ترس و وحشت نکن، زیرا تو پناهگاه من در روز مصیبت هستی.

¹⁷Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.

¹⁸آنهائی را که بر من ستم می کنند شرمنده و رسوا کن، اما مرا خوار و سرافگنده نساز.

¹⁸Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

¹⁹خداوند به من فرمود: «برو در کنار «دروازۀ مردم» که پادشاهان یهودا از آن عبور می کنند و در کنار دروازه های دیگر اورشلیم بایست

¹⁹Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;

²⁰و به مردم بگو که خداوند می فرماید: ای پادشاهان و مردم یهودا و ای ساکنین اورشلیم که از این دروازه ها می گذرید،

²⁰And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:

²¹بخاطر حفظ جانهای تان نباید در روز سَبَت به هیچ کاری دست بزنید و هیچ باری را از راه این دروازه ها حمل نکنید.

²¹Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;

²²حتی در خانه های تان هم باید در این روز از هر کاری دست بکشید و تنها استراحت و عبادت کنید. طوریکه به اجداد تان امر کردم به شما هم می گویم که روز سَبَت را مقدس بشمارید.

²²Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.

²³اما اجداد تان به حرف من گوش ندادند و توجه نکردند و از روی سرسختی هدایات مرا نشنیدند.

²³But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.

²⁴اما اگر شما امر مرا بجا آورید، در روز سَبَت از دروازه های این شهر چیزی را حمل نکنید و این روز را مقدس شمرده از هر کاری دست بکشید،

²⁴And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;

²⁵آنگاه همه پادشاهان و بزرگان تان از دروازه های اورشلیم عبور می کنند و وارث تاج و تخت داود شده همواره سوار بر عراده های مجلل و اسپها می باشند. این شهر دایم پایدار بوده، مردم یهودا و اهالی اورشلیم برای همیشه در آن ساکن می شوند.

²⁵Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.

²⁶مردم از شهرهای یهودا، اطراف اورشلیم، از سرزمین بنیامین، دشتها و کوهستانها و منطقۀ جنوب می آیند و هرنوع قربانی و هدیه به عبادتگاه من تقدیم می کنند.اما اگر به کلام من گوش ندهید و روز سَبَت را مقدس نشمارید و در این روز باری را از دروازه های اورشلیم حمل کنید، آنگاه من آتشی می افروزم و این دروازه ها را با قصرهای اورشلیم می سوزانم و این آتشی است که هیچ کسی نمی تواند آن را خاموش سازد.»

²⁶And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.

²⁷اما اگر به کلام من گوش ندهید و روز سَبَت را مقدس نشمارید و در این روز باری را از دروازه های اورشلیم حمل کنید، آنگاه من آتشی می افروزم و این دروازه ها را با قصرهای اورشلیم می سوزانم و این آتشی است که هیچ کسی نمی تواند آن را خاموش سازد.»

²⁷But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
