1خداوند در بارۀ عمونیان چنین می فرماید: «کجاست قوم اسرائیل؟ آیا از آن ها کسی نمانده است که از خاک خود دفاع کند؟ چرا مردمی که خدای مولِک را می پرستند شهرهای جاد را به تصرف خود آورده اند و قوم ایشان در شهرهایش ساکن شده اند؟
1Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?
2بنابران خداوند می فرماید: روزی می رسد که زنگ خطر جنگ از رَبه، مرکز عمون به صدا می آید و آنجا به یک تودۀ خاک تبدیل می شود. دهات و آبادی هایش در آتش می سوزند و قوم اسرائیل می آیند و ملک و دارائی خود را از کسانی که آن را غصب کرده بودند، دوباره به دست می آورند. این گفتۀ خداوند است.
2Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.
3ای مردم حِشبون، گریه و ناله را سر دهید، زیرا عای ویران شده است! ای دختران رَبه، شیون کنید و لباس ماتم بپوشید. پریشان و افسرده به هر طرف بدوید، زیرا بتِ مولِک را با کاهنان و بزرگانش به اسارت بردند.
3Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.
4ای مردم بی وفا، شما به قدرت و نیروی خود فخر می کنید و به دارائی و ثروت تان می نازید و می گوئید: «کسی بر ما حمله نمی کند.»
4Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?
5اما بدانید که من، خداوند قادر مطلق، از هر طرف ترس و وحشت را در بین شما می فرستم. اقوام همجوار، شما را از کشور تان بیرون رانده و پراگنده می سازند و کسی باقی نمی ماند تا فراریان را دوباره جمع کند.
5Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.
6ولی بعداً سعادت عمونیان را دوباره برای شان بر می گردانم. خداوند فرموده است.»
6And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.
7خداوند قادر مطلق در مورد ادومیان چنین می فرماید: «آیا حکمت و دانش از تیمان رخت بر بسته است؟ آیا خردمندان حس قضاوت خود را از دست داده اند و دیگر از دانش بهره ای ندارند؟
7Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?
8ای اهالی دَدان، برگردید. فرار کنید و پنهان شوید، زیرا وقت آن رسیده است که بلای زمانِ عیسو را بر آن ها بیاورم و آن ها را مجازات کنم.
8Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.
9کسانی که انگور می چینند، بعضی از خوشه های آن را بجا می گذارند و دزدان هم وقتی که در شب می آیند، تنها چیزی را که می خواهند، می برند.
9If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.
10ولی من برای اولادۀ عیسو هیچ چیزی را بجا نمی گذارم. جاهای مخفی آن ها را آشکار می سازم تا دیگر جائی برای مخفی شدن نداشته باشند. فرزندان، وابستگان و همسایگان شان را از بین می برم.
10But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.
11اما از یتیمان آن ها نگاهداری می کنم و بیوه زنان شان می توانند به من اعتماد کنند.»
11Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.
12خداوند می فرماید: «حتی آنهائی که سزاوار جزا نیستند و نباید از جام مجازات بنوشند، بازهم بدون مجازات نمی مانند. شما را هم بی سزا نمی گذارم و باید از آن جام بنوشید،
12For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.
13زیرا خداوند می فرماید: من به ذات خود قسم خورده ام که شهر بُزره ویران شود و مورد تمسخر و نفرین مردم قرار گیرد. همه از دیدن وضع بد آن وحشت کنند و تمام دهات اطراف آن برای همیشه ویران باقی بمانند.»
13For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
14این خبر از جانب خداوند برای من رسید: «قاصدی را با این پیام پیش اقوام فرستاده ام: همگی جمع شوید و برای جنگ علیه ادوم آماده گردید.
14I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
15من ادوم را در پیش اقوام جهان کوچک و حقیر می سازم.
15For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, and despised among men.
16ای ادوم که در شگاف صخره ها و بر کوهها واقع هستی، هیبت و غرورت ترا فریب داده است. اگر مانند عقاب آشیانه ات را بر بلندترین قلۀ کوه بسازی، ترا از آنجا پائین می آورم. این گفتۀ خداوند است.
16Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.
17وضع ادوم وحشت آور می گردد و هر کسی که از آنجا بگذرد و حال بد آن را ببیند، حیرت می کند و به وحشت می افتد.
17Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.
18همانطوری که سدوم و عموره و شهرهای اطراف آن ویران شدند، ادوم هم غیر مسکون شده کسی در آن زندگی نمی کند. خداوند فرموده است.
18As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.
19مثل شیری که از جنگلهای انبوه اُردن در چراگاه بر گوسفندان حمله می کند، من هم ناگهان بر مردم ادوم هجوم می آورم. آن ها را از سرزمین شان بیرون می رانم و آنگاه هر کسی را که بخواهم تعیین می کنم تا بر آن ها حکومت نماید. چه کسی می تواند مثل من باشد؟ کدام رهبر می تواند با من مخالفت کند؟
19Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
20بنابران، نقشه ای که برای مردم ادوم و ساکنین تیمان کشیده ام اینست: کودکان شان ربوده می شوند و سرنوشت شوم آن ها همۀ مردم را به وحشت می اندازد.
20Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
21از صدای سقوط ادوم زمین به لرزه می آید و آواز فریاد شان تا بحیرۀ احمر می رسد.
21The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.
22دشمنان مثل عقابی با بالهای گشوده پرواز کرده بر بُزره هجوم می آورند و در آن روز وضع جنگ آوران به حال زنی می ماند که درد زایمان می کشد.»
22Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
23خداوند در مورد دمشق چنین می فرماید: «مردم شهرهای حمات و اَرفاد غمگین و پریشان اند، زیرا خبر بدی برای شان رسیده است. دل شان از ترس می لرزد و مانند بحرِ متلاطم، آشفته و بی قرار هستند.
23Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
24اهالی دمشق بیحال گشته و از ترس فرار می کنند و مثل زنی که در حال زایمان باشد در وحشت و اضطراب بسر می برند.
24Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
25چگونه این شهر معروف و با نشاط متروک شده است!
25How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!
26در آن روز جوانانش در جاده ها کشته می شوند و تمام عساکرش تلف می گردند.
26Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.
27دیوارهای دمشق را آتش می زنم و قلعه های مستحکم بنهدد را می سوزانم.»
27And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.
28خداوند در مورد قیدار و نواحی مربوط حاصور که به دست نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل مغلوب شدند، چنین می فرماید: «بر مردم قیدار حمله ببرید و قبیله ای را که در مشرق زمین سکونت دارند، از بین ببرید!
28Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus saith the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.
29خیمه ها را با پرده ها و گله ها و رمه های شان تاراج کنید. دارائی و شترهای شان را برای خود بگیرید و فریاد بزنید: «وحشت همه جا را فرا گرفته است!»
29Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.
30خداوند می فرماید که ای ساکنین حاصور، هرچه زودتر به جاهای دور فرار کنید و در حفره ها پنهان شوید، زیرا نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل برای نابودی شما نقشه کشیده است.»
30Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.
31خداوند به پادشاه بابل فرموده است: «بر آن قومی که در رفاه و آسایش در شهرهای بی در و دیوار تنها زندگی می کند، حمله کن.
31Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.
32شترها و رمه و گلۀ شان را به غنیمت ببر. من این مردم را که شقیقه های خود را می تراشند، پراگنده می سازم و از هر طرف مصیبت و بلا را بر سر شان می آورم. خداوند فرموده است.
32And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, saith the LORD.
33حاصور مسکن شغالان می شود و برای همیشه ویران باقی می ماند. هیچ کسی در آن سکونت و زندگی نمی کند.»
33And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.
34در آغاز سلطنت صدقیا، پادشاه یهودا، خداوند در مورد عیلام به ارمیا چنین فرمود:
34The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
35«من تمام کمانداران عیلام را از بین می برم و قدرت آن ها درهم می شکنم.
35Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.
36از چهار سمت باد را می فرستم تا آن ها را به هر طرف پراگنده کند. من آن ها را به تمام کشورهای جهان آواره می سازم.
36And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.
37خداوند می گوید: کاری می کنم که مردم عیلام از دشمنان و آنهائی که قصد کشتن شان را دارند، وحشت کنند. آن ها را به مصیبت و غضب خود دچار می سازم و شمشیر را می فرستم تا همۀ شان را نابود کند.
37For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:
38خداوند می فرماید که آنگاه تخت سلطنت خود را در عیلام برقرار می کنم و پادشاهان و بزرگانش را از بین می برم.اما در آینده، عیلام را دوباره کامگار سعادتمند می سازم. این گفتۀ خداوند است.»
38And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.
39اما در آینده، عیلام را دوباره کامگار سعادتمند می سازم. این گفتۀ خداوند است.»
39But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.
