1«بیقین بدانید هرکه از در به آغل گوسفندان وارد نشود بلکه از راه دیگری بالا برود او دزد و راهزن است.
1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2اما کسی که از در وارد شود چوپان گوسفندان است.
2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3دربان در را برای او باز می کند و گوسفندان صدایش را می شنوند. او گوسفندان خود را به نام می خواند و آنها را بیرون می برد.
3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4وقتی گوسفندان خود را بیرون می برد خودش در پیشاپیش آن ها حرکت می کند و گوسفندان به دنبالش می روند زیرا صدای او را می شناسند.
4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5به دنبال آدم ناشناس نمی روند بلکه از او می گریزند زیرا صدای بیگانگان را نمی شناسند.»
5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
6عیسی این مَثَل را برای ایشان آورد ولی آن ها مقصد او را نفهمیدند.
6This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7پس عیسی بار دیگر به آن ها گفت: «بیقین بدانید که من برای گوسفندان در هستم.
7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8همۀ کسانی که پیش از من آمدند دزد و راهزن بودند و گوسفندان به صدای آنها گوش ندادند.
8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9من در هستم، هرکه به وسیلۀ من وارد شود نجات می یابد و به داخل و خارج می رود و علوفه پیدا می کند.
9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10دزد می آید تا بدزدد، بکشد و نابود سازد. من آمده ام تا آدمیان زندگی یابند و آن را بطور کامل داشته باشند.
10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11من چوپان نیکو هستم، چوپان نیکو جان خود را برای گوسفندان فدا می سازد
11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12اما مزدوری که چوپان نیست و گوسفندان به او تعلق ندارند وقتی ببینند که گرگ می آید گوسفندان را می گذارد و فرار می کند. آنگاه گرگ به گله حمله می کند و گوسفندان را پراگنده می سازد.
12But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13او می گریزد چون مزدور است و به فکر گوسفندان نیست.
13The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14من چوپان نیکو هستم، من گوسفندان خود را می شناسم و آن ها هم مرا می شناسند.
14I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15همانطور که پدر مرا می شناسد، من هم پدر را می شناسم و جان خود را در راه گوسفندان فدا می سازم.
15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16من گوسفندان دیگری هم دارم که از این گله نیستند، باید آن ها را نیز بیاورم. آن ها صدای مرا خواهند شنید و یک گله و یک چوپان خواهند شد.
16And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17پدرم مرا دوست دارد زیرا من جان خود را فدا می کنم تا آن را بار دیگر باز یابم.
17Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18هیچ کس جان مرا از من نمی گیرد، من به خواهش خود آن را فدا می کنم. اختیار دارم که آن را فدا سازم و اختیار دارم که آن را باز به دست آورم. پدر این امر را به من داده است.»
18No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
19به خاطر این سخنان، بار دیگر در بین یهودیان دو دستگی به وجود آمد.
19There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.
20بسیاری از آنها گفتند: «او روح ناپاک دارد و دیوانه است. چرا به سخنان او گوش می دهید؟»
20And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?
21دیگران گفتند: «کسی که دیوانه است نمی تواند اینطور سخن بگوید. آیا روح ناپاک می تواند چشمان کور را باز نماید؟»
21Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?
22وقتی عید تقدیس در اورشلیم فرا رسید، زمستان بود
22And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
23و عیسی در عبادتگاه و در داخل رواق سلیمان قدم می زد.
23And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
24یهودیان در اطراف او گرد آمدند و از او پرسیدند: «تا چه وقت ما را در شک می گذاری؟ اگر مسیح هستی آشکارا بگو.»
24Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
25عیسی گفت: «من به شما گفته ام اما شما باور نمی کنید. کارهائی که به نام پدر انجام می دهم بر من شهادت می دهند.
25Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26اما شما چون گوسفندان من نیستید ایمان نمی آورید.
26But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27گوسفندان من صدای مرا می شنوند و من آن ها را می شناسم و آن ها به دنبال من می آیند.
27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28من به آن ها زندگی ابدی می بخشم و آن ها هرگز هلاک نخواهند شد و هیچ کس نمی تواند آن ها را از دست من بگیرد.
28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29پدری که آنها را به من بخشیده است از همه بزرگتر است و هیچ کس نمی تواند آن ها را از دست پدر من بگیرد.
29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30من و پدر یک هستیم.»
30I and my Father are one.
31بار دیگر یهودیان سنگ برداشتند تا او را سنگسار کنند.
31Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32عیسی به آن ها گفت: «من از جانب پدر کارهای نیک بسیاری در برابر شما انجام داده ام. به خاطر کدامیک از آن ها مرا سنگسار می کنید؟»
32Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33یهودیان در جواب گفتند: «برای کارهای نیک نیست که می خواهیم تو را سنگسار کنیم، بلکه به خاطر کفر توست. تو که یک انسان هستی ادعای خدایی می کنی!»
33The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34عیسی در جواب گفت: «مگر در شریعت شما نوشته نشده است که شما خدایان هستید؟
34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35اگر خدا کسانی را که کلام او را دریافت کرده اند خدایان خوانده است و ما می دانیم که کلام خدا هرگز باطل نمی شود،
35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36پس چرا به من که پدر، مرا برگزیده و به جهان فرستاده است نسبت کفر می دهید وقتی می گویم پسر خدا هستم؟
36Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37اگر من کارهای پدرم را به جا نمی آورم به من ایمان نیاورید
37If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38و اما اگر کارهای او را انجام می دهم حتی اگر به من ایمان نمی آورید به کارهای من ایمان بیاورید تا بدانید و مطمئن شوید که پدر در من است و من در او.»
38But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
39پس بار دیگر آن ها می خواستند او را دستگیر کنند اما از نظر ایشان دور شد.
39Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,
40باز عیسی از دریای اُردن گذشته به جایی که یحیی قبلاً تعمید می داد، رفت و در آنجا ماند.
40And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.
41بسیاری از مردم پیش او آمدند و گفتند: «یحیی هیچ معجزه ای نکرد اما آنچه او دربارۀ این مرد گفت راست بود.»در آنجا بسیاری به عیسی ایمان آوردند.
41And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.
42در آنجا بسیاری به عیسی ایمان آوردند.
42And many believed on him there.
