1دیگران را بد نگویید تا شما را بد نگویند.
1Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2همانطور که شما دیگران را ملامت می کنید خود تان نیز ملامت خواهید شد. با هر پیمانه ای که به دیگران بدهید، با همان پیمانه عوض خواهید گرفت.
2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3چرا پَرِ کاهی را که در چشم برادرت هست می بینی، ولی در فکر چوب بزرگی که در چشم خود داری نیستی؟
3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4یا چگونه جرأت می کنی به برادر خود بگویی: «اجازه بده پَرِ کاه را از چشمت بیرون آورم» حال آنکه خودت چوب بزرگی در چشم داری.
4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5ای منافق، اول آن چوب بزرگ را از چشم خود بیرون بیاور و آنگاه درست خواهی دید که پَرِ کاه را از چشم برادرت بیرون بیاوری.
5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
6آنچه مقدس است به سگان ندهید و مرواریدهای خود را پیش خوک ها نریزید. مبادا آن ها را زیر پا لگدمال کنند و برگشته شما را بدَرَند.
6Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
7بخواهید، به شما داده خواهد شد. بجویید، پیدا خواهید کرد. بکوبید، در به روی تان باز خواهد شد.
7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8چون هرکه بخواهد به دست می آورد و هر که بجوید پیدا می کند و هرکه بکوبد، در برویش باز می شود.
8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9آیا کسی در میان شما هست که وقتی پسرش از او نان بخواهد، سنگی به او بدهد؟
9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10و یا وقتی ماهی می خواهد ماری در دستش بگذارد؟
10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11پس اگر شما که انسان های گناهکاری هستید، می دانید چگونه باید چیزهای خوب را به فرزندان خود بدهید، چقدر بیشتر پدر آسمانی شما چیزهای نیکو را به آنهای که از او تقاضا می کنند عطا خواهد فرمود!
11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12با دیگران همانطور رفتار کنید که می خواهید آن ها با شما رفتار کنند. این است خلاصۀ تورات و نوشته های انبیا.
12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13از دروازۀ تنگ داخل شوید، زیرا دروازه ای که بزرگ و راهی که وسیع است به هلاکت منتهی می شود و کسانی که این راه را می پیمایند، بسیارند.
13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14اما دروازه ای که به زندگی منتهی می شود تنگ و راهش مشکل است و یابندگان آن هم، کم هستند.
14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15از انبیای دروغین احتیاط کنید که در لباس میش به نزد شما می آیند، ولی در باطن گرگان درنده اند.
15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16آنها را از اعمال شان خواهید شناخت. آیا می توان از بوتۀ خار انگور و از خاربن انجیر چید؟
16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17همینطور درخت خوب میوه نیکو ببار می آورد و درخت بد میوه بد.
17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18درخت نیکو نمی تواند میوه بد ببار آورد و نه درخت بد میوۀ نیکو.
18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19درختی که میوۀ خوب ببار نیاورد آن را می بُرند و در آتش می اندازند.
19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20بنابر این شما آن ها را از میوه های شان خواهید شناخت.
20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21نه هرکس که مرا «خداوندا، خداوندا» خطاب کند داخل پادشاهی آسمانی می شود، بلکه کسی که ارادۀ پدر آسمانی مرا به انجام برساند.
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22وقتی آن روز برسد بسیاری به من خواهند گفت: «خداوندا، خداوندا، آیا به نام تو نبوّت نکردیم و به نام تو سخن نگفتیم؟ آیا با ذکر نام تو ارواح ناپاک را بیرون نراندیم؟ و به نام تو معجزات بسیار نکردیم؟»
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23آنگاه واضعاً به آنها خواهم گفت: «من هرگز شما را نمی شناسم. از من دور شوید، ای بدکاران.»
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24پس کسی که سخنان مرا می شنود و به آن ها عمل می کند، مانند شخص دانایی است که خانۀ خود را بر سنگ ساخت.
24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25باران بارید، سیل جاری شد و باد وزیده بر آن خانه زورآور گردید، اما آن خانه خراب نشد زیرا تهداب آن بر روی سنگ بود.
25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26اما هر که سخنان مرا بشنود و به آن ها عمل نکند مانند شخص نادانی است که خانۀ خود را بر روی ریگ ساخت.
26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27باران بارید، سیل جاری شد و باد وزیده به آن خانه زورآورگردید و آن خانه ویران شد و چه خرابی بزرگی بود!»
27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28وقتی عیسی این سخنان را به پایان رسانید مردم از تعالیم او حیران شدندزیرا او بر خلاف روش علمای دین، با اختیار و قدرت به آنها تعلیم می داد.
28And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29زیرا او بر خلاف روش علمای دین، با اختیار و قدرت به آنها تعلیم می داد.
29For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
