¹خداوند به هارون فرمود: «تو، پسرانت و سایر لاویان در مقابل هر نوع بی حرمتی که به خیمۀ حضور خداوند شود، مسئول هستید. فقط تو و پسرانت برای هر خطائی که در خدمت این جایگاه مقدس سر بزند، مقصر می باشید.

¹And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.

²خویشاوندان تو، یعنی قبیلۀ لاوی باید در امور مربوط به خیمۀ حضور خداوند با شما کمک کنند.

²And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.

³اما انجام کارهای مقدس در داخل خیمۀ حضور خداوند فقط بدوش تو و پسرانت می باشد. لاویان نباید به اشیای مقدس و یا قربانگاه دست بزنند، زیرا در آنصورت هم تو و هم آن ها هلاک می شوید.

³And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.

⁴فقط آن ها با تو همکاری کنند و وظایف محولۀ خود را در خیمۀ حضور خداوند اجراء نمایند و کسی که از قبیلۀ لاوی نباشد حق ندارد همراه تو کار کند.

⁴And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.

⁵تنها تو و پسرانت باید امور مربوط به این جایگاه مقدس و قربانگاه را اجراء نمائید، تا مبادا خشم من در مقابل قوم اسرائیل برانگیخته شود.

⁵And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.

⁶من خودم لاویان را که بستگان تو هستند از بین تمام قبایل اسرائیل برگزیدم و بعنوان هدیه به تو دادم. آن ها وقف من شده اند تا به وظایف مقدس خود در خیمۀ حضور خداوند مصروف باشند.

⁶And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

⁷اما وظیفۀ کاهنی تنها بدوش تو و پسرانت می باشد و فقط شما باید امور مربوط به قربانگاه و قدس الاقداس را اجراء کنید. مقام کاهنی هدیۀ خاصی است که به شما داده ام و اگر هر کس دیگری که به جایگاه مقدس نزدیک شود، کشته خواهد شد.»

⁷Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest's office for everything of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest's office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

⁸خداوند به هارون فرمود: «تمام هدایائی را که قوم اسرائیل برای من می آورند و همچنین همه اشیائی را که وقف من می کنند، مسئولیت آن ها را به دست تو و پسرانت می گذارم. و این یک فریضۀ ابدی است.

⁸And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy sons, by an ordinance for ever.

⁹از بین تمام هدایای مقدسی که بر قربانگاه سوختانده نمی شوند، این چیزها متعلق به شماست: هدیه های آردی، قربانی های گناه و قربانی های جبران خطا. هر چیزی که به من تقدیم می شود، مقدس است و به تو و پسرانت تعلق می گیرد.

⁹This shall be thine of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every oblation of theirs, every meat offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs which they shall render unto me, shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons.

¹⁰اینها را باید در یک جای مقدس بخورید و تنها افراد ذکور حق خوردن آن ها را دارند.

¹⁰In the most holy place shalt thou eat it; every male shall eat it: it shall be holy unto thee.

¹¹برعلاوه، همه هدایای مخصوص دیگری که قوم اسرائیل به من تقدیم می کنند، من آن ها را به شما و پسران و دختران تان بعنوان سهم دایمی می دهم و همه اعضای خانوادۀ تان در صورتی که شرعاً نجس نباشند می توانند آن ها را بخورند.

¹¹And this is thine; the heave offering of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the children of Israel: I have given them unto thee, and to thy sons and to thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: every one that is clean in thy house shall eat of it.

¹²من بهترین میوۀ نو محصولاتی را که بنی اسرائیل به من تقدیم کرده است، به تو می بخشم، یعنی بهترین روغن زیتون، شراب و غله

¹²All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the LORD, them have I given thee.

¹³و هر نوع محصول دیگر زمین متعلق به تو است. و هر نفر از اعضای خانواده ات که شرعاً نجس نباشد می تواند از آن ها بخورد.

¹³And whatsoever is first ripe in the land, which they shall bring unto the LORD, shall be thine; every one that is clean in thine house shall eat of it.

¹⁴خلاصه هر چیزی که وقف من شده است، به شمول پسران اولباری قوم اسرائیل و اولباری های حیوانات آن ها، به شما تعلق دارد. اما پسران اولباری و اولباری های حیواناتی که گوشت آن ها حرام است باید بازخرید شوند. و هر کسی که صاحب اولین پسر شود، از برای او پنج مثقال نقره بدهد و وقتیکه طفل یک ماهه شد باید آن مبلغ را بپردازد.

¹⁴Every thing devoted in Israel shall be thine.

¹⁵ولی اولباری گاو، گوسفند و بز را نمی توان بازخرید کرد، زیرا آن ها متعلق به من هستند و باید برای من قربانی شوند. خون آن ها را باید بر قربانگاه پاشید و چربی آن ها بعنوان هدیه بر آتش به من تقدیم شود و بوی این قربانی مورد پسند خداوند واقع می گردد.

¹⁵Every thing that openeth the matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the firstborn of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem.

¹⁶گوشت آن ها را، از قبیل سینه و ران راست، بحیث هدیۀ مخصوص به شما می بخشم.

¹⁶And those that are to be redeemed from a month old shalt thou redeem, according to thine estimation, for the money of five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.

¹⁷من به تو و خانواده ات همۀ این هدیه های مخصوصی را که قوم اسرائیل برای من می آورند، داده ام و این پیمانی است ابدی که من با شما و اولادۀ تان بسته ام.»

¹⁷But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savor unto the LORD.

¹⁸خداوند به هارون فرمود: «شما نباید هیچ مُلک و دارائی در سرزمین اسرائیل داشته باشید، زیرا که من، خداوند همه دارائی و ثروت شما هستم.

¹⁸And the flesh of them shall be thine, as the wave breast and as the right shoulder are thine.

¹⁹ده فیصد هر چیزی را که قوم اسرائیل به من تقدیم می کنند، من به قبیلۀ لاوی در بدل خدمت شان در خیمۀ حضور خداوند، بخشیده ام.

¹⁹All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the LORD, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a covenant of salt for ever before the LORD unto thee and to thy seed with thee.

²⁰از این ببعد سایر اسرائیلی ها حق ندارند که به خیمۀ حضور خداوند نزدیک شوند، مبادا مجرم شناخته شده بمیرند.

²⁰And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.

²¹تنها لاویان می توانند وظایف خیمۀ حضور خداوند را اجراء نمایند. و اگر در اجرای وظایف خود کوتاهی کنند مجرم شناخته می شوند و این قانونی است دایمی که نسلهای آیندۀ شان هم باید آن را رعایت کنند،

²¹And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

²²زیرا ده فیصد همه چیزهائی را که قوم اسرائیل بعنوان هدیۀ مخصوص به من تقدیم می کنند به لاویان داده ام، بنابران، آن ها نباید مُلک و دارائی در سرزمین اسرائیل داشته باشند.»

²²Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die.

²³خداوند به موسی فرمود که به لاویان بگوید: «ده فیصد چیزهائی را که از قوم اسرائیل می گیرید، بعنوان هدیۀ مخصوص به من تقدیم کنید.

²³But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.

²⁴این هدیۀ مخصوص را که برای من بعنوان هدیۀ میوۀ نوِ محصولات غله و شراب به من می دهید، قبول می کنم.

²⁴But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.

²⁵لهذا این ده فیصدی ها که به من تقدیم می شوند باید از بهترین حصۀ فیصدی ها باشند و باید آن ها را به هارون کاهن بدهید.

²⁵And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

²⁶پس از آنکه بهترین حصه را تقدیم کردید، بقیۀ آن ها را برای خود بگیرید، مثلیکه مردم بعد از تقدیم هدیه ها، باقیماندۀ محصول را برای خود نگه می دارند.

²⁶Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.

²⁷شما و فامیل تان می توانید در هر جائی که بخواهید بخورید، زیرا آن مزد خدمتی است که شما در خیمۀ عبادت اجراء می کنید.شما لاویان با خوردن آن مقصر شمرده نمی شوید، بشرطیکه بهترین حصۀ ده فیصد را به کاهنان بدهید. و اگر این کار را نکنید به هدیه های مقدس بی حرمتی می نمائید و کشته می شوید.»

²⁷And this your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the fulness of the winepress.

²⁸شما لاویان با خوردن آن مقصر شمرده نمی شوید، بشرطیکه بهترین حصۀ ده فیصد را به کاهنان بدهید. و اگر این کار را نکنید به هدیه های مقدس بی حرمتی می نمائید و کشته می شوید.»

²⁸Thus ye also shall offer an heave offering unto the LORD of all your tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD's heave offering to Aaron the priest.

²⁹Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out of it.

³⁰Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye have heaved the best thereof from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as the increase of the threshingfloor, and as the increase of the winepress.

³¹And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.

³²And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have heaved from it the best of it: neither shall ye pollute the holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.
