¹بنابراین ای برادران عزیز، آرزوی دیدن شما را دارم. شما مایۀ خوشی و افتخار من هستید. ای عزیزان، همچنان در خداوند استوار باشید.

¹Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

²از «اِفُودیه» و «سینتیخی»، خواهران خود در خداوند استدعا دارم که با یکدیگر صلح و آشتی کنند.

²I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

³و از تو ای همکار صمیمی، تقاضا می کنم که این دو زن را کمک کنی، زیرا آن ها با «کلیمانتوس» و دیگر همکاران من که در انتشار انجیل تلاش کرده اند، نام شان در کتاب زندگی ثبت شده است.

³And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

⁴پیوسته در خداوند شاد باشید، باز هم می گویم خوش باشید!

⁴Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

⁵مهربانی و ملایمت شما در رفتار تان با دیگران آشکار باشد. آمدن خداوند نزدیک است!

⁵Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

⁶برای هیچ چیز تشویش نکنید، بلکه همیشه در هر مورد با دعا و مناجات و سپاسگزاری تقاضاهای خود را در پیشگاه خدا تقدیم نمائید

⁶Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

⁷و سلامتی خدا که مافوق فهم بشر است، دلها و افکار شما را در مسیح عیسی حفظ خواهد کرد.

⁷And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

⁸در خاتمه ای برادران، دربارۀ هر آنچه راست، شریف، درست، پاک، دوست داشتنی، نیکنام و هرچه عالی و قابل ستایش است، فکر کنید.

⁸Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

⁹تمام چیزهایی را که از من آموختید و به دست آوردید یعنی آنچه را از من شنیدید سرمشق خود ساخته به عمل آورید که در این صورت خدایی که سرچشمۀ سلامتی است، با شما خواهد بود.

⁹Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

¹⁰حالا که پس از مدتی دوباره مورد توجه قرار گرفته ام، خوشی بزرگی در خداوند یافته ام. البته شما همیشه نسبت به من علاقه و توجه داشته اید، اما فرصت ابراز آن را نیافتید.

¹⁰But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.

¹¹من به احتیاجات شخصی خود اشاره نمی کنم، زیرا یاد گرفته ام در هر وضعی که باشم قناعت کنم.

¹¹Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

¹²من می دانم چگونه در فقر و بیچارگی و یا در سعادتمندی زندگی کنم، رمز زیستن در سیری و گرسنگی، در فراوانی و نیازمندی را فراگرفته ام.

¹²I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

¹³من به وسیلۀ مسیح که مرا تقویت می کند، به انجام هر کاری قادر هستم.

¹³I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

¹⁴اما شما لطف کرده شریک زحمات من شدید.

¹⁴Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

¹⁵خود شما ای فیلپیان، خوب می دانید که در ابتدای انتشار انجیل وقتی من مقدونیه را ترک کردم، شما تنها کلیسایی بودید که در قبول مسئولیت دخل و خرج من با من همکاری کردید.

¹⁵Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

¹⁶حتی زمانی که در تسالونیکی بودم یکی دو مرتبه مبلغی برای رفع احتیاجات من فرستادید.

¹⁶For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

¹⁷من طالب پول شما نیستم؛ بلکه می خواهم به اجر نیکوکاری شما افزوده شود.

¹⁷Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

¹⁸اعانۀ شما به دستم رسید و نه تنها کافی بلکه بیشتر از احتیاجاتم بود. هدیه ای را که توسط اپفرودیتُس فرستادید، احتیاج مرا رفع کرده است. عطایای شما هدیه ای خوشبو یعنی قربانی قبول شده و پسندیدۀ خداست

¹⁸But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

¹⁹و خدای من همۀ احتیاجات شما را با ثروت بزرگ خود در مسیح عیسی رفع خواهد کرد.

¹⁹But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

²⁰پدر ما، خدا را، تا به ابد جلال باد، آمین.

²⁰Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

²¹به همۀ مقدسینی که به مسیح عیسی تعلق دارند سلام برسانید. برادرانی که با من هستند به شما سلام می رسانند.

²¹Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.

²²همۀ مقدسین در اینجا و مخصوصاً ایماندارانی که در دربار امپراطور هستند، به شما سلام می رسانند.فیض خداوند ما عیسی مسیح با روح شما باد.

²²All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household.

²³فیض خداوند ما عیسی مسیح با روح شما باد.

²³The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
