¹به فرشته کلیسای اِفِسُس بنویس: «این است سخنان آن کسی که هفت ستاره را به دست راست خود دارد و در میان هفت چراغپایۀ زرین گردش می کند.

¹Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

²من اعمال، رنج ها، و بردباری تو را می دانم. می دانم که نمی توانی شریران را تحمل کنی. تو آنانی را که ادعا می کنند، رسول هستند ولی نیستند امتحان کرده ای و دریافته ای که دروغگو هستند.

²I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

³تو بردبار هستی، به خاطر من در مقابل شرارت ایستادگی کرده ای و از پا در نیامده ای.

³And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

⁴اما این شکایت را از تو دارم: محبتِ اول خود را از دست داده ای.

⁴Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

⁵به یاد داشته باش که از چه مقام بلندی سقوط کرده ای، توبه کن و مثل گذشته عمل نما و اگر توبه نکنی، نزد تو می آیم و چراغپایه ات را از جایش بر می دارم.

⁵Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

⁶البته باید بگویم: تو این خوبی را هم داری، که مثل من از اعمال نقولاویان نفرت داری.

⁶But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.

⁷ای کسانی که گوش دارید، به آنچه که روح به کلیساها می گوید، گوش دهید! به کسی که پیروز شود اجازه می دهم از درخت زندگانی که در باغ خدا می روید، بخورد.»

⁷He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

⁸به فرشتۀ کلیسای اِسمیرنا بنویس: «این است سخنان آن اول و آخر، آن کس که مُرد و زنده شد:

⁸And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

⁹من از عذاب و فقر تو آگاه هستم ولی با وجود این توانگر هستی! می دانم آن کسانی که ادعا می کنند یهودی هستند ولی نیستند، چطور به تو تهمت می زنند. آنها جماعت شیطانند!

⁹I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

¹⁰از رنجی که به شما روی می آورد، نترسید. البته ابلیس بعضی از شما را به زندان خواهد افگند تا شما را بیازماید و به مدت ده روز رنج خواهید کشید ولی تا دَم مرگ وفادار بمانید و من به شما تاج زندگی را خواهم بخشید.

¹⁰Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

¹¹ای کسانی که گوش دارید، به آنچه که روح به کلیساها می گوید گوش دهید. کسی که پیروز شود، عذاب مرگ دوم را نخواهد چشید.»

¹¹He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

¹²به فرشته کلیسای پِرگاموم بنویس: «این است سخنان آن کسی که صاحب آن شمشیر تیز دو دَم است.

¹²And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;

¹³می دانم تو در کجا به سر می بری، تخت شیطان در آنجا قرار دارد و می دانم ایمانی که به من داری کم نشده است. تو حتی در آن زمان که آنتیپاس، شاهدِ امینِ من در شهر تو یعنی در خانۀ شیطان شهید شد، ایمانت را از دست ندادی.

¹³I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

¹⁴اما از تو چند شکایت دارم: در پِرگاموم عده ای با تو هستند که به تعالیم بِلعام چسپیده اند. بِلعام به بالاق تعلیم داد که چگونه قوم اسرائیل را از راه راست گمراه سازد و آنها را تشویق کرد خوراکی را بخورند که به بُتها تقدیم شده بود و مرتکب زنا بشوند.

¹⁴But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

¹⁵و همچنین عده ای هستند که از تعلیم نقولاویان پیروی می کنند.

¹⁵So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.

¹⁶پس توبه کن، اگر توبه نکنی به زودی نزد تو خواهم آمد و با شمشیری که از دهانم بیرون می آید، با آنها جنگ خواهم کرد.

¹⁶Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

¹⁷ای کسانی که گوش دارید، آنچه را که روح به کلیساها می گوید بشنوید! به کسی که پیروز شود، به او از نان مَنّای مخفی خواهم داد. به او سنگ سفیدی نیز می دهم و بر آن سنگ، نام تازه ای نوشته خواهد بود که هیچ کس معنی آن را نخواهد فهمید، مگر آن کسی که آن را می گیرد.»

¹⁷He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

¹⁸به فرشتۀ کلیسای طیاتیرا بنویس: «این است سخنان پسر خدا که چشمانش مانند آتش می درخشد و پاهایش مثل برنجِ شفاف، درخشان است.

¹⁸And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

¹⁹از اعمال و محبت و وفاداری و خدمت نیکو و بردباری تو آگاه هستم و می دانم که اکنون اعمال تو از گذشته بهتر است.

¹⁹I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.

²⁰و اما از تو شکایتی دارم: تو ایزابل را آزاد گذاشته ای. ایزابل، زنی که ادعا می کند نبیه است و با تعلیم خود بندگان مرا گمراه می کند تا آن ها مرتکب زنا و خوردن خوراک هایی شوند که به بُتها تقدیم شده است.

²⁰Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

²¹به او مُهلت داده ام که توبه کند ولی او نمی خواهد دست از زناکاری های خود بکشد.

²¹And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

²²بدان که من او را گرفتار بسترش خواهم ساخت و عاشقانش را که با او زنا کرده اند، همراه خودش گرفتار مصیبت شدیدی خواهم کرد، مگر اینکه از آن کارهایی که با او کرده بودند، توبه کنند

²²Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

²³و فرزندانش را به قتل خواهم رسانید. با این کارها، همۀ کلیساها خواهند فهمید که من افکار و نیت های انسان را می آزمایم، و به هر یک از شما مطابق اعمالش جزا خواهم داد.

²³And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

²⁴اکنون روی سخن من با بقیۀ شما در طیاتیرا است که این تعالیم را نپذیرفته اید و آنچه را که آنها اسرار مخصوص شیطان می خوانند، نیاموخته اید. من نمی خواهم بار بیشتری بر شما تحمیل کنم.

²⁴But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.

²⁵فقط می خواهم آنچه دارید تا زمانی که من می آیم محکم نگاه دارید.

²⁵But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

²⁶به کسی که پیروز شود و در انجام ارادۀ من تا به آخر استقامت نشان دهد، قدرت خواهم داد تا بر تمام ملت ها حکمرانی کند.

²⁶And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

²⁷او با عصای آهنین بر آنها فرمان خواهد راند و آنها را مثل ظروف سفالین خواهد شکست. او تمام این کارها را با قدرتی که من از پدر دریافت کرده ام، انجام خواهد داد.

²⁷And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

²⁸و همچنین ستارۀ صبح را به او خواهم بخشید.ای کسانی که گوش دارید، آنچه را که روح به کلیساها می گوید، بشنوید.»

²⁸And I will give him the morning star.

²⁹ای کسانی که گوش دارید، آنچه را که روح به کلیساها می گوید، بشنوید.»

²⁹He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
