¹But this know, that in [the] last days difficult times shall be there;

¹Apan mahibaloan mo kini, nga sa katapusang mga adlaw, moabut ang mga makalilisang panahon.

²for men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, evil speakers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, profane,

²Kay ang mga tawo magamahigugmaon sa ilang kaugalingon, mahigugmaon sa salapi, andakan, palabilabihon, mapasipad-anon, masukihon sa mga ginikanan, dili mapasalamaton, dili balaan,

³without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, of unsubdued passions, savage, having no love for what is good,

³Walay gugma nga kinaiya, dili malukmay, tigbutangbutang, dili mapugnganon, mapintas, walay gugma sa maayo.

⁴traitors, headlong, of vain pretensions, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;

⁴Mga mabudhion, mga gahig-ulo, hambugiro, mahigugmaon sa mga kalingawan labi kay sa paghigugma sa Dios;

⁵having a form of piety but denying the power of it: and from these turn away.

⁵Nga nagabaton sa dagway sa pagka-diosnon, apan nanagdumili sila sa gahum niini. Magpahilayo ka usab gikan niini kanila.

⁶For of these are they who are getting into houses, and leading captive silly women, laden with sins, led by various lusts,

⁶Kay niini kanila mao kadtong mga moyuhot sa pagsaka sa mga balay, ug nagapamihag sa mga babaye nga nabug-atan sa mga sala, nga ginadaldal sa nagkalainlaing mga kailibgon;

⁷always learning, and never able to come to [the] knowledge of [the] truth.

⁷Nga sa gihapon nanagtoon, apan dili gayud makakab-ut sa pag-ila sa kamatuoran.

⁸Now in the same manner in which Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, thus these also withstand the truth; men corrupted in mind, found worthless as regards the faith.

⁸Ug maingon nga si Janes ug si Jambres misukol kang Moises, ingon man usab kini sila nagasukol sa kamatuoran; mga tawo nga dunot ug hunahuna, mga sinalikway mahatungod sa pagtoo.

⁹But they shall not advance farther; for their folly shall be completely manifest to all, as that of those also became.

⁹Apan dili sila magalabong sa dayon, kay ang ilang kabuang madayag sa tanang mga tawo, ingon usab sa nahitabo kanila kaniadto.

¹⁰But *thou* hast been thoroughly acquainted with my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, endurance,

¹⁰Apan ikaw misunod sa akong pagtolon-an: sa gawi, sa tuyo, sa pagtoo, sa pagkamapailubon, sa gugma, sa pag-antus,

¹¹persecutions, sufferings: what [sufferings] happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured; and the Lord delivered me out of all.

¹¹Sa mga paglutos, sa mga kagul-anan; sa mga butang nga miabut kanako sa Antioquia, sa Iconio, sa Listra; sa mga paglutos nga akong giantus: ug gikan kanila ngatanan giluwas ako sa Ginoo.

¹²And all indeed who desire to live piously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

¹²Oo; ug ang tanan nga mga mahagugma magkinabuhi sa pagka-diosnon diha kang Cristo Jesus magaantus sa paglutos;

¹³But wicked men and juggling impostors shall advance in evil, leading and being led astray.

¹³Apan ang dautang mga tawo ug mga limbongan, magatubo sa hilabihan nga pagkadautan, nga magalimbong ug pagalimbongan sila.

¹⁴But *thou*, abide in those things which thou hast learned, and [of which] thou hast been fully persuaded, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them];

¹⁴Apan ikaw, magpadayon ka diha sa mga butang nga hingkat-onan mo ug hingpamatud-an, sa nahibaloan gikan kang kinsa imong hingkat-onan sila;

¹⁵and that from a child thou hast known the sacred letters, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation, through faith which [is] in Christ Jesus.

¹⁵Ug nga sukad sa imong pagkabata hingbaloan mo ang mga Balaan nga Kasulatan, nga makahimo kanimo nga manggialamon ngadto sa kaluwasan pina-agi sa pagtoo nga anaa kang Cristo Jesus.

¹⁶Every scripture [is] divinely inspired, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;

¹⁶Ang tibook nga Kasulatan gibugna sa Dios, ug may kapuslanan usab alang sa pagtudlo, sa pagbadlong, sa pagsaway, sa pagmatuto sa pagkamatarung:

¹⁷that the man of God may be complete, fully fitted to every good work.

¹⁷Aron ang tawo sa Dios mamahingpit, nga maandam sa bug-os alang sa tanang maayong buhat.
