¹And we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as Jehovah had said unto me; and we went round mount Seir many days.

¹Unya mingbalik kita ug minggikan kita padulong sa kamingawan sa dalan paingon sa Dagat nga Mapula, sumala sa giingon ni Jehova kanako ug gilibut nato ang bukid sa Seir sa daghang mga adlaw.

²And Jehovah spoke to me, saying,

²Ug si Jehova misulti kanako, nga nagaingon:

³Ye have gone round this mountain long enough: turn you northward.

³Igo na ang paglibut ninyo niining bukira, patunong kamo ngadto sa amihanan.

⁴And command the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the border of your brethren the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you; and ye shall be very guarded:

⁴Ug sugoon mo ang katawohan, sa pag-ingon: Molatas kamo sa utlanan sa inyong mga igsoon ang mga anak ni Esau, nga nagpuyo sa Seir, ug sila mangahadlok kaninyo. Busa magbantay kamo pag-ayo:

⁵attack them not; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot-breadth; for I have given mount Seir as a possession unto Esau.

⁵Dili kamo makig-away kanila; kay dili ko ihatag kaninyo ang ilang yuta, dili, bisan pa ang pagtunob sa lapalapa sa tiil; kay gihatag ko na kang Esau ang bukid sa Seir ingon nga panulondon.

⁶Ye shall buy of them food for money, that ye may eat; and water shall ye also buy of them for money, that ye may drink;

⁶Sa salapi mopalit kamo kanila ug kalan-on, aron kamo makakaon; ug sa salapi mopalit usab kamo kanila ug tubig aron kamo makainum;

⁷for Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee in all the work of thy hand. He hath known thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years hath Jehovah thy God been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

⁷Kay si Jehova nga imong Dios nagpanalangin kanimo sa tanan nga bulohaton sa imong kamot: siya nahibalo niining dakung kamingawan: niining kap-atan ka tuig si Jehova nga imong Dios nag-uban kanimo; walay bisan unsa nga nakulang kanimo.

⁸And we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, by the plain, by Elath, and by Ezion-geber, and we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.

⁸Busa giagian nato gikan sa atong mga igsoon, ang mga anak ni Esau, nga nagpuyo sa Seir gikan sa dalan sa Arabah gikan sa Elat ug gikan sa Eslon-geber. Ug mingbalik kita ug ming-agi sa dalan sa kamingawan sa Moab.

⁹And Jehovah said to me, Distress not the Moabites, neither engage with them in battle; for I will not give thee of their land a possession; for unto the children of Lot have I given Ar as a possession.

⁹Ug si Jehova miingon kanako: Dili ka magsamok kang Moab, dili ka usab makig-away kanila, kay dili ko ihatag kanimo ang pagpanag-iya sa iyang yuta, kay ako nang gihatag ang Ar nga panulondon sa mga anak ni Lot.

¹⁰(The Emim dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall as the Anakim.

¹⁰(Ang mga Emimenhon nagpuyo, niini kaniadto, katawohan nga daku, ug daghan, ug hatag-as ingon sa mga higante;

¹¹They also are reckoned as giants like the Anakim; but the Moabites call them Emim.

¹¹Kini sila usab naisip ingon nga mga Refeimhanon sama sa mga Anachanon; apan ang mga Moabhanon nagangalan kanila ug mga Emumehanon.

¹²And in Seir dwelt the Horites in times past; and the children of Esau dispossessed them, and destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did to the land of their possession, which Jehovah gave to them.)

¹²Ug sa Seir nagpuyo kaniadto ang mga Horhanon, apan gipulihan sila sa mga anak ni Esau ug ilang gilaglag sila sa atubangan nila, ug nagpuyo sila sa dapit puli kanila, ingon sa gibuhat sa Israel sa yuta nga panulondon nga gihatag kanila ni Jehova).

¹³Now rise up, and pass over the torrent Zered. And we passed over the torrent Zered.

¹³Karon, manindog kamo, miingon ako, ug umagi kamo sa sapa sa Sered. Ug ming-agi kita sa sapa sa Sered.

¹⁴Now the days in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we had come over the torrent Zered, were thirty-eight years; until the whole generation of the men of war was consumed from the midst of the camp, as Jehovah had sworn unto them.

¹⁴Ug sa mga adlaw nga nanglakaw kita gikan sa Cades-barnea hangtud sa atong pag-abut sa sapa sa Sered, katloan ug walo ka tuig; hangtud nga nahurot ang tanan nga kaliwatan sa mga tawo sa panggubatan gikan sa taliwala sa campo sumala sa gipanumpa kanila ni Jehova.

¹⁵Moreover the hand of Jehovah was against them to destroy them from the midst of the camp, until they were consumed.

¹⁵Labut pa ang kamot ni Jehova diha batok kanila aron sa paglaglag kanila gikan sa taliwala sa campo, hangtud nga nahurot sila.

¹⁶And it came to pass when all the men of war were consumed, having died off from among the people,

¹⁶Busa nahitabo nga, sa pagkahurot ug sa pagkamatay sa tanan nga mga tawo sa panggubatan sa taliwala sa katawohan,

¹⁷that Jehovah spoke to me, saying,

¹⁷Si Jehova misulti kanako, nga nagaingon:

¹⁸Thou art to pass this day over the border of Moab, [which is] Ar,

¹⁸Ikaw moagi niining adlawa sa Ar, ang utlanan sa Moab.

¹⁹and come near over against the children of Ammon; thou shalt not distress them nor attack them; for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon a possession; for unto the children of Lot have I given it as a possession.

¹⁹Ug sa magakahaduol ka sa atubangan sa mga anak sa Ammon; dili mo sila pagsamukon, dili ka usab maghilabut kanila; kay dili ko ihatag kanimo ang pagpanag-iya sa yuta sa mga anak sa Ammon; kay gihatag ko na kini nga panulondon sa mga anak ni Lot.

²⁰(That also is reckoned a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in time past, and the Ammonites call them Zamzummim;

²⁰(Kini usab naisip nga yuta sa mga Refeimhanon; si Refeim nagpuyo didto sa unang panahon; ug sila gihinganlan sa mga Ammonhon, mga Zomzomehanon.

²¹a people great, and many, and tall as the Anakim; and Jehovah destroyed them before them, and they dispossessed them, and dwelt in their stead;

²¹Usa ka katawohan nga daku, ug daghan, ug hatag-as ingon sa mga Anachanon, apan si Jehova naglaglag kanila sa atubangan sa mga Ammonhon, ug sila ming-ilis kanila, ug nagpuyo sila sa dapit puli kanila:

²²as he did to the children of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, from before whom he destroyed the Horites; and they dispossessed them, and dwelt in their stead, even to this day.

²²Ingon sa gibuhat niya sa mga anak ni Esau nga nagpuyo sa Seir, sa diha nga gilaglag niya ang mga Horhanon, sa ilang atubangan, ug sila ming-ilis kanila, ug mingpuyo sila sa dapit puli kanila hangtud karon.

²³And the Avvites who dwelt in the hamlets as far as Gazah -- the Caphtorim, who came out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.)

²³Ug sa mga Avehanon, nga nagpuyo sa Haserim hangtud sa Gaza, ang mga Caftorhanon nga minggula sa Caftor naglaglag kanila, ug mingpuyo sila nga ilis kanila).

²⁴Rise up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon. Behold, I have given into thy hand Sihon the king of Heshbon, the Amorite, and his land: begin, take possession, and engage with him in battle.

²⁴Panindog kamo, panggikan kamo, ug manlabang kamo sa sapa sa Arnon: ania karon, gihatag ko sa imong kamot si Sihon, nga Amorehanon, ang hari sa Hesbon, ug ang iyang yuta; sugdi ninyo ang pagpanag-iya niini, ug magpakig-away kamo batok kaniya sa gubat.

²⁵This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the peoples under the whole heaven; who will hear report of thee, and will tremble, and quake because of thee.

²⁵Niining adlawa magsugod ako sa pagbutang sa imong kahadlok, ug sa imong kalisang sa ibabaw sa mga katawohan nga anaa sa ilalum sa tibook nga langit; nga makadungog sa imong kabantug, ug magakurog ug magaguol tungod kanimo.

²⁶And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sihon the king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying,

²⁶Ug nagsugo ako ug mga maniniid gikan sa kamingawan sa Cedemoth ngadto kang Sihon, ang hari sa Hesbon, uban ang mga pulong sa pakigdait, nga nagaingon:

²⁷Let me pass through thy land: by the highway alone will I go; I will neither turn to the right hand nor to the left.

²⁷Tugoti nga moagi ako sa imong yuta: magalakaw ako sa dalan, dili ako motipas ngadto sa too ni sa wala;

²⁸Thou shalt sell me food for money that I may eat; and thou shalt give me water for money that I may drink; I will only pass through on my feet,

²⁸Magabaligya ikaw kanako ug kalan-on nga baylo sa salapi, aron ako makakaon; ug magahatag ikaw kanako ug tubig nga baylo sa salapi, aron ako makainum; paagia lamang ako nga magalakaw.

²⁹-- as the children of Esau who dwell in Seir, and the Moabites who dwell in Ar, did to me, -- until I shall pass over the Jordan into the land which Jehovah our God giveth us.

²⁹Ingon sa gibuhat kanako sa mga anak ni Esau nga nagpuyo sa Seir; ug sa mga Moabhanon, nga nagpuyo sa Ar; hangtud nga motabok ako sa Jordan ngadto sa yuta nga gihatag kanato ni Jehova nga atong Dios.

³⁰But Sihon the king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him; for Jehovah thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obdurate, that he might give him into thy hand, as it is this day.

³⁰Apan si Sihon nga hari sa Hesbon wala bumuot nga moagi kami sa kayutaan niya; kay si Jehova nga imong Dios nagpatig-a sa iyang espiritu, ug nagpatig-a sa iyang kasingkasing aron sa pagtugyan kaniya sa imong kamot ingon niining adlawa.

³¹And Jehovah said to me, Behold, I begin to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin, take possession, that thou mayest possess his land.

³¹Ug miingon kanako si Jehova: Ania karon, misugod ako sa paghatag sa atubangan mo kang Sihon ug sa iyang yuta: magsugod ka sa pagpanag-iya aron mapanunod mo ang iyang yuta.

³²And Sihon came out against us for battle, he and all his people, to Jahaz.

³²Ug misugat si Sihon kanato, siya ug ang tibook niya nga katawohan aron sa pagpakig-away didto sa Jaas.

³³But Jehovah our God gave him up before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and his whole people.

³³Ug si Jehova nga atong Dios nagtugyan kaniya sa atong atubangan; ug siya gipatay ta ug ang iyang mga anak nga lalake ug ang tibook niya nga katawohan.

³⁴And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every city, men, and women, and little ones: we let none escape.

³⁴Ug niadtong panahona gikuha ta ang tanan niyang mga kalungsoran, ug gilaglag ta ang tanan nga mga lungsod nga may nagpuyo, lakip ang mga babaye ug mga bata: walay bisan usa nga gibilin ta.

³⁵Only the cattle we took as booty for ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.

³⁵Kondili ang kahayupan lamang ang atong gikuha alang sa atong kaugalingon, uban ang mga inagaw sa kalungsoran nga atong naagaw.

³⁶From Aroer, which is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the ravine even to Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: Jehovah our God delivered all before us.

³⁶Gikan sa Aroer, nga anaa sa duol sa daplin sa sapa sa Arnon, ug sa lungsod nga anaa sa walog hangtud sa Galaad, walay lungsod nga hataas da alang kanato; tanan sila gitugyan ni Jehova nga atong Dios sa atong atubangan.

³⁷Only thou didst not approach the land of the children of Ammon, the whole border of the river Jabbok, nor the cities of the mountain, nor to whatsoever Jehovah our God had forbidden us.

³⁷Sa yuta lamang sa mga anak sa Ammon nga wala ka makadangat; ang tanan nga anaa sa daplin sa sapa sa Jaboc, ug ang mga lungsod sa kabukiran, ug bisan sa unsang dapita nga kanato gidili ni Jehova nga atong Dios.
