¹And it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, that Jehovah spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' attendant, saying,

¹Karon nahitabo sa tapus ang kamatayon ni Moises, ang alagad ni Jehova: nga si Jehova misulti kang Josue, ang anak ni Nun, ang ministro ni Moises, nga nagaingon:

²Moses my servant is dead; and now, rise up, go over this Jordan, thou and all this people, into the land which I give unto them, to the children of Israel.

²Si Moises, ang akong alagad, patay na; busa karon, bumangon ka ug tumabok niining Jordan, ikaw ug kining tibook katawohan, ngadto sa yuta nga akong igahatag kanila, bisan ngadto sa mga anak sa Israel.

³Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread have I given to you, as I said unto Moses.

³Ang tanang dapit nga pagatumban sa lapalapa sa inyong tiil kana gihatag ko kaninyo sumala sa gipamulong ko kang Moises.

⁴From the wilderness and this Lebanon to the great river, the river Euphrates, the whole land of the Hittites, to the great sea, toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

⁴Gikan sa kamingawan, ug niining Libano, bisan ngadto sa dakung suba, ang suba sa Eufrates, ang tanang yuta sa mga Hetehanon, ug ngadto na gayud sa dakung dagat dapit sa pagasalopan sa adlaw, maoy utlanan ninyo.

⁵None shall be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee; I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.

⁵Walay bisan kinsang tawo nga arang makasukol kanimo sa tanang mga adlaw sa imong kinabuhi: ingon nga ako nag-uban kang Moises, mao man magauban ako kanimo; ikaw dili ko kawangon, ni biyaan ko ikaw.

⁶Be strong and courageous, for thou shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I have sworn unto their fathers to give them.

⁶Magmakusganon ka ug magmaisug ka: kay pinaagi kanimo kining katawohan makapanunod sa yuta nga akong gisaad sa ilang mga amahan nga akong ihatag kanila.

⁷Only be strong and very courageous, that thou mayest take heed to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded thee. Turn not from it to the right or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

⁷Magmabaskugon ka lamang ug magmaisug gayud, sa pag-atiman sa pagbuhat sumala sa tanang balaod nga gisugo kanimo ni Moises nga akong alagad: ayaw pagtipas ngadto sa too ni ngadto sa wala gikan niana, aron magmauswagon ka bisan asa ka paingon.

⁸This book of the law shall not depart from thy mouth; and thou shalt meditate upon it day and night, that thou mayest take heed to do according to all that is written therein; for then shalt thou have good success in thy ways, and then shalt thou prosper.

⁸Ayaw pag-ibulag kining basahon sa Kasugalan sa imong baba; hinonoa magpalandung ka niana sa adlaw ug sa gabii, aron himatngonan mo sa pagbuhat sumala sa tanan nga gisulat dinha: kay sa ingon niana ikaw magmauswagon sa imong panaw, ug unya makab-ut mo ang kauswagan.

⁹Have I not commanded thee: Be strong and courageous? Be not afraid, neither be dismayed; for Jehovah thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

⁹Wala ko ba ikaw sugoa? Magmakusganon ka ug magmaisug: ayaw pagkahadlok ug dili ka magmaluya; kay si Jehova nga imong Dios, magauban kanimo bisan asa ikaw paingon.

¹⁰And Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

¹⁰Unya si Josue nagsugo sa mga punoan sa katawohan, nga nagaingon:

¹¹Go through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare yourselves victuals, for in three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, that ye may enter in to take possession of the land which Jehovah your God giveth you to possess it.

¹¹Umagi kamo sa taliwala sa campo, ug sugoa ang katawohan, sa pag-ingon: Pangandam kamo ug mga makaon; kay sulod sa totolo ka adlaw manabok kamo niining Jordan, sa pagsulod aron sa pagpanag-iya sa yuta nga gihatag kaninyo ni Jehova nga inyong Dios aron inyong panag-iyahon kini.

¹²And to the Reubenites and to the Gadites and to half the tribe of Manasseh spoke Joshua, saying,

¹²Ug sa mga Rubenhanon, ug sa mga Gadahanon, ug sa katunga sa banay ni Manases, si Josue misulti, nga nagaingon:

¹³Remember the word that Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, saying, Jehovah your God has given you rest and has given you this land.

¹³Hinumdumi ninyo ang pulong nga gipamulong ni Moises, nga alagad ni Jehova, sa iyang pagsugo kaninyo, nga nagaingon: Si Jehova nga inyong Dios, mihatag kaninyo ug pahulay ug magahatag kaninyo niining yutaa.

¹⁴Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle shall abide in the land that Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan, but ye, all the valiant men, shall go over in array before your brethren and help them,

¹⁴Ang inyong mga asawa, ang inyong mga anak nga magagmay, ug ang inyong kahayupan, magapabilin sa yuta nga gihatag ni Moises kaninyo, sa unahan sa Jordan: apan kamo mag-una sa inyong mga igsoon, nga sangkap sa hinagiban ang tanang tawo nga mga maisug nga, ug magatabang kanila;

¹⁵until Jehovah give your brethren rest as to you, and they also take possession of the land which Jehovah your God giveth them; then shall ye return into the land of your possession and possess it, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you on this side of the Jordan toward the sun-rising.

¹⁵Hangtud nga si Jehova magahatag sa inyong mga igsoon ug pahulay, ingon nga naghatag siya kaninyo, napanag-iya nila usab ang yuta nga gihatag kanila ni Jehova nga inyong Dios: unya mobalik kamo sa yuta nga inyong napanag-iya, ug magpanag-iya niining yutaa, nga gihatag kaninyo ni Moises nga alagad ni Jehova, niining dapita sa unahan sa Jordan, padulong sa silangan sa adlaw.

¹⁶And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou hast commanded us will we do, and whither thou shalt send us will we go.

¹⁶Ug sila mingtubag kang Josue, nga nagaingon: Ang tanan nga imong gisugo kanamo among pagabuhaton, ug bisan asa kami nimo sugoa kami moadto.

¹⁷According as we hearkened to Moses in all things, so will we hearken to thee; only may Jehovah thy God be with thee as he was with Moses.

¹⁷Ingon nga kami nagpatalinghug kang Moises sa tanang butang, sa maong paagi usab magapatalinghug kami kanimo; nga magauban lamang kanimo si Jehova nga imong Dios, ingon sa pag-uban niya kang Moises.

¹⁸Every one that is rebellious against thy commandment and hearkeneth not to thy words in everything that thou commandest us, shall be put to death. Only be strong and courageous.

¹⁸Bisan kinsa kadtong mosuki sa imong sugo, ug dili magpatalinghug sa imong mga pulong sa tanan nga imong igasugo kaniya, siya pagapatyon; magmakusganon ka lamang ug magmaisug.
