1I composed the first discourse, O Theophilus, concerning all things which Jesus began both to do and to teach,
1 Ysgrifennais y llyfr cyntaf, Theoffilus, am yr holl bethau y dechreuodd Iesu eu gwneud a'u dysgu
2until that day in which, having by the Holy Spirit charged the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up;
2 hyd y dydd y cymerwyd ef i fyny, wedi iddo roi gorchmynion trwy'r Ysbryd Gln i'r apostolion yr oedd wedi eu dewis.
3to whom also he presented himself living, after he had suffered, with many proofs; being seen by them during forty days, and speaking of the things which concern the kingdom of God;
3 Dangosodd ei hun hefyd iddynt yn fyw, wedi ei ddioddefaint, drwy lawer o arwyddion sicr, gan fod yn weledig iddynt yn ystod deugain diwrnod a llefaru am deyrnas Dduw.
4and, being assembled with [them], commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father, which [said he] ye have heard of me.
4 A thra oedd gyda hwy, gorchmynnodd iddynt beidio ag ymadael o Jerwsalem, ond disgwyl am yr hyn a addawodd y Tad. "Fe glywsoch am hyn gennyf fi," meddai.
5For John indeed baptised with water, but *ye* shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit after now not many days.
5 "Oherwydd du373?r y bedyddiodd Ioan, ond fe'ch bedyddir chwi 'r Ysbryd Gln ymhen ychydig ddyddiau."
6They therefore, being come together, asked him saying, Lord, is it at this time that thou restorest the kingdom to Israel?
6 Felly, wedi iddynt ddod ynghyd, fe ofynasant iddo, "Arglwydd, ai dyma'r adeg yr wyt ti am adfer y deyrnas i Israel?"
7And he said to them, It is not yours to know times or seasons, which the Father has placed in his own authority;
7 Dywedodd yntau wrthynt, "Nid chwi sydd i wybod amseroedd neu brydiau y mae'r Tad wedi eu gosod o fewn ei awdurdod ef ei hun.
8but ye will receive power, the Holy Spirit having come upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
8 Ond fe dderbyniwch nerth wedi i'r Ysbryd Gln ddod arnoch, a byddwch yn dystion i mi yn Jerwsalem, ac yn holl Jwdea a Samaria, a hyd eithaf y ddaear."
9And having said these things he was taken up, they beholding [him], and a cloud received him out of their sight.
9 Wedi iddo ddweud hyn, a hwythau'n edrych, fe'i dyrchafwyd, a chipiodd cwmwl ef o'u golwg.
10And as they were gazing into heaven, as he was going, behold, also two men stood by them in white clothing,
10 Fel yr oeddent yn syllu tua'r nef, ac yntau'n mynd, dyma ddau u373?r yn sefyll yn eu hymyl mewn dillad gwyn,
11who also said, Men of Galilee, why do ye stand looking into heaven? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven, shall thus come in the manner in which ye have beheld him going into heaven.
11 ac meddai'r rhain, "Wu375?r Galilea, pam yr ydych yn sefyll yn edrych tua'r nef? Yr Iesu hwn, sydd wedi ei gymryd i fyny oddi wrthych i'r nef, bydd yn dod yn yr un modd ag y gwelsoch ef yn mynd i'r nef."
12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called [the mount] of Olives, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath-day's journey off.
12 Yna dychwelsant i Jerwsalem o'r mynydd a elwir Olewydd, sydd yn agos i Jerwsalem, daith Saboth oddi yno.
13And when they were come into [the city], they went up to the upper chamber, where were staying both Peter, and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James [son] of Alphaeus, and Simon the zealot, and Jude [the brother] of James.
13 Wedi cyrraedd, aethant i fyny i'r oruwchystafell, lle'r oeddent yn aros: Pedr ac Ioan ac Iago ac Andreas, Philip a Thomas, Bartholomeus a Mathew, Iago fab Alffeus a Simon y Selot a Jwdas fab Iago.
14These gave themselves all with one accord to continual prayer, with [several] women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
14 Yr oedd y rhain oll yn dyfalbarhau yn unfryd mewn gweddi, ynghyd rhai gwragedd a Mair, mam Iesu, a chyda'i frodyr.
15And in those days Peter, standing up in the midst of the brethren, said, (the crowd of names [who were] together [was] about a hundred and twenty,)
15 Un o'r dyddiau hynny cododd Pedr ymysg y credinwyr yr oedd tyrfa o bobl yn yr un lle, rhyw gant ac ugain ohonynt ac meddai,
16Brethren, it was necessary that the scripture should have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before, by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus;
16 "Gyfeillion, rhaid oedd cyflawni'r Ysgrythur a ragddywedodd yr Ysbryd Gln trwy enau Dafydd am Jwdas, yr un a ddangosodd y ffordd i'r rhai a ddaliodd Iesu;
17for he was numbered amongst us, and had received a part in this service.
17 oherwydd fe'i cyfrifid yn un ohonom ni, a chafodd ei ran yn y weinidogaeth hon."
18(This [man] then indeed got a field with [the] reward of iniquity, and, having fallen down headlong, burst in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
18 (Fe brynodd hwn faes 'r tl am ei ddrygwaith, ac wedi syrthio ar ei wyneb fe rwygodd yn ei ganol, a thywalltwyd ei berfedd i gyd allan.
19And it was known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their own dialect Aceldama; that is, field of blood.)
19 A daeth hyn yn hysbys i holl drigolion Jerwsalem, ac felly galwyd y maes hwnnw yn eu hiaith hwy eu hunain yn Aceldama, hynny yw, Maes y Gwaed.)
20For it is written in [the] book of Psalms, Let his homestead become desolate, and let there be no dweller in it; and, Let another take his overseership.
20 "Oherwydd y mae'n ysgrifenedig yn Llyfr y Salmau: 'Aed ei gartrefle yn anghyfannedd, heb neb yn byw ynddo', a hefyd: 'Cymered arall ei oruchwyliaeth.'
21It is necessary therefore, that of the men who have assembled with us all [the] time in which the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us,
21 Felly, o'r rhai a fu yn ein cwmni ni yr holl amser y bu'r Arglwydd Iesu yn mynd i mewn ac allan yn ein plith ni,
22beginning from the baptism of John until the day in which he was taken up from us, one of these should be a witness with us of his resurrection.
22 o fedydd Ioan hyd y dydd y cymerwyd ef i fyny oddi wrthym, rhaid i un o'r rhain ddod yn dyst gyda ni o'i atgyfodiad ef."
23And they appointed two, Joseph, who was called Barsabas, who had been surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
23 Ystyriwyd dau: Joseff, a elwid Barsabas ac a gyfenwid Jwstus, a Mathias.
24And they prayed, and said, Thou Lord, knower of the hearts of all, shew which one of these two thou hast chosen,
24 Yna aethant i weddi: "Adwaenost ti, Arglwydd, galonnau pawb. Amlyga prun o'r ddau hyn a ddewisaist
25to receive the lot of this service and apostleship, from which Judas transgressing fell to go to his own place.
25 i gymryd ei le yn y weinidogaeth a'r apostolaeth hon, y cefnodd Jwdas arni i fynd i'w le ei hun."
26And they gave lots on them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
26 Bwriasant goelbrennau arnynt, a syrthiodd y coelbren ar Mathias, a chafodd ef ei restru gyda'r un apostol ar ddeg.
