¹Cast thy bread upon the waters; for thou shalt find it after many days.

¹ Bwrw dy fara ar wyneb y dyfroedd, ac fe'i cei'n �l ymhen dyddiau lawer.

²Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.

² Rhanna dy gyfran rhwng saith neu wyth, oherwydd ni wyddost pa drychineb a ddaw ar y ddaear.

³If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.

³ Os yw'r cymylau yn llawn glaw, y maent yn ei arllwys ar y ddaear; os syrth coeden i'r de neu i'r gogledd, y mae'n aros lle y disgyn.

⁴He that observeth the wind will not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds will not reap.

⁴ Ni fydd yr un sy'n dal sylw ar y gwynt yn hau, na'r un sy'n gwylio'r cymylau yn medi.

⁵As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, how the bones [grow] in the womb of her that is with child, even so thou knowest not the work of God who maketh all.

⁵ Megis nad wyt yn gwybod sut y daw bywyd i'r esgyrn yng nghroth y feichiog, felly nid wyt yn deall gwaith Duw, yr Un sy'n gwneud popeth.

⁶In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand; for thou knowest not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

⁶ Hau dy had yn y bore, a phaid � gorffwys cyn yr hwyr, oherwydd ni wyddost pa un a fydd yn llwyddo, neu a fydd y cyfan yn dda.

⁷Now the light is sweet, and pleasant is it to the eyes to see the sun;

⁷ Y mae goleuni'n ddymunol, a phleser i'r llygaid yw gweld yr haul.

⁸but if a man live many years, [and] rejoice in them all, yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many: all that cometh is vanity.

⁸ Os bydd rhywun fyw am flynyddoedd maith, bydded iddo fwynhau'r cyfan ohonynt; ond fe ddylai gofio y bydd dyddiau tywyllwch yn niferus. Y mae'r cyfan sy'n digwydd yn wagedd.

⁹Rejoice, young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know that for all these [things] God will bring thee into judgment.

⁹ u372?r ifanc, bydd lawen yn dy ieuenctid, a bydded iti fwynhad yn nyddiau dy lencyndod; rhodia yn �l dymuniad dy galon a'r hyn a w�l dy lygaid, ond cofia y bydd Duw yn dy alw i farn am hyn i gyd.

¹⁰Then remove discontent from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for childhood and youth are vanity.
