1And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third [month], on the first of the month, [that] the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
1 Ar y dydd cyntaf o'r trydydd mis yn yr unfed flwyddyn ar ddeg, daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD ataf a dweud;
2Son of man, say unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: Whom art thou like in thy greatness?
2 "Fab dyn, dywed wrth Pharo brenin yr Aifft ac wrth ei finteioedd, 'I bwy yr wyt yn debyg yn dy fawredd?
3Behold, Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon, with fair branches and a shadowing shroud, and of a high stature: and his top was amidst the thick boughs.
3 Edrych ar Asyria; yr oedd fel cedrwydden yn Lebanon, ac iddi gangen brydferth yn bwrw cysgod dros y goedwig, yn tyfu'n uchel, a'i brig yn uwch na'r cangau trwchus.
4The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high; its streams ran round about his plantation, and it sent out its rivulets unto all the trees of the field.
4 Yr oedd dyfroedd yn ei chyfnerthu a'r dyfnder yn peri iddi dyfu, a'u nentydd yn llifo o amgylch ei gwreiddiau, ac yn ffrydio'n aberoedd i holl goed y maes.
5Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long, because of great waters, when he shot forth.
5 Felly tyfodd yn uwch na holl goed y maes; yr oedd ei cheinciau'n ymestyn a'i changau'n lledaenu, am fod digon o ddu373?r yn y sianelau.
6All the fowl of the heavens made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all the great nations.
6 Yr oedd holl adar y nefoedd yn nythu yn ei cheinciau, a'r holl anifeiliaid gwylltion yn epilio dan ei changau, a'r holl genhedloedd mawrion yn byw yn ei chysgod.
7Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: because his root was by great waters.
7 Yr oedd ei mawredd yn brydferth, a'i cheinciau'n ymestyn, oherwydd yr oedd ei gwreiddiau'n cyrraedd at ddigon o ddu373?r.
8The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him; the cypresses were not like his boughs, and the plane-trees were not as his branches: no tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.
9I had made him fair by the multitude of his branches; and all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.
9 Gwneuthum hi'n brydferth digon o ganghennau, nes bod holl goed Eden, gardd Duw, yn cenfigennu wrthi.
10Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast lifted up thyself in stature, ... and he hath set his top amidst the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height,
10 "'Felly, fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: Oherwydd iddi dyfu'n uchel, gan godi ei phen yn uwch na'r cangau ac ymfalcho yn ei huchder,
11I have given him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.
11 rhoddais hi yn llaw rheolwr y cenhedloedd, iddo wneud hi yn l ei drygioni. Bwriais hi o'r neilltu.
12And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off and have left him; upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken in all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.
12 Estroniaid, y greulonaf o'r cenhedloedd, a'i torrodd i lawr a'i gadael. Syrthiodd ei changhennau ar y mynyddoedd ac i'r holl ddyffrynnoedd; yr oedd ei changau wedi eu torri yn holl gilfachau'r tir; daeth holl genhedloedd y ddaear allan o'i chysgod a'i gadael.
13Upon his fallen [trunk] do all the fowl of the heavens dwell, and all the beasts of the field are upon his branches:
13 Aeth holl adar y nefoedd i fyw ar ei boncyff, a'r holl anifeiliaid gwylltion i'w brigau.
14to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, nor set their top amidst the thick boughs, and that none of them that drink water stand up in his height by himself; for they are all given over unto death in the lower parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
14 Oherwydd hyn, nid yw'r holl goed eraill wrth y dyfroedd i dyfu'n uchel na chodi eu pennau'n uwch na'r cangau; nid ydynt, oherwydd bod digon o ddu373?r, i sefyll mor uchel; y maent i gyd wedi eu tynghedu i farwolaeth yn y tir isod, gyda meidrolion, ymhlith y rhai sy'n disgyn i'r pwll.
15Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day when he went down to Sheol, I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed; and I made Lebanon black for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.
15 "'Fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: Yn y dydd yr aed hi i lawr i Sheol, gorchuddiais y dyfnder galar drosti; ateliais ei hafonydd a dal yn l ei digonedd o ddu373?r. O'i herwydd hi gwisgais Lebanon phrudd-der, a chrinodd holl goed y maes.
16I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol, with them that go down into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the lower parts of the earth.
16 Gwneuthum i'r cenhedloedd grynu gan su373?n ei chwymp, pan ddygais hi i lawr i Sheol gyda'r rhai sy'n disgyn i'r pwll; felly cysurir yn y tir isod holl goed Eden sy'n cael eu dyfrhau, y rhai gorau a mwyaf dewisol yn Lebanon.
17They also went down into Sheol with him unto them that were slain with the sword, and [that were] his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the nations.
17 Aethant hwythau hefyd gyda hi i lawr i Sheol at y rhai a laddwyd 'r cleddyf; gwasgarwyd y rhai oedd yn byw yn ei chysgod ymhlith y cenhedloedd.
18To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? Yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden, unto the lower parts of the earth; thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with them that are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord Jehovah.
18 Prun o goed Eden sy'n debyg i ti mewn gogoniant a mawredd? Ond fe'th ddygir dithau hefyd gyda choed Eden i'r tir isod, a byddi'n gorwedd gyda'r dienwaededig a laddwyd 'r cleddyf. Dyna Pharo a'i holl finteioedd,' medd yr Arglwydd DDUW."
