1Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious adornment, which is on the head of the fat valley of them that are overcome with wine.
1 Gwae goronau balch meddwon Effraim, blodau gwyw eu haddurn gogoneddus ar ben y beilchion bras a orchfygwyd gan win.
2Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, as a storm of hail [and] a destroying tempest; as a storm of mighty waters overflowing, shall he cast down to the earth with might.
2 Wele, y mae gan yr ARGLWYDD un nerthol a chryf; fel storm o genllysg, fel tymestl ddinistriol, fel cenllif o ddyfroedd yn gorlifo'n ddilyw, fe ymesyd yn ddidostur ar y ddaear.
3The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under feet;
3 Bydd coronau balch meddwon Effraim wedi eu mathru dan draed;
4and the fading flower of his glorious adornment which is on the head of the fat valley shall be like an early fig before the summer: as soon as he that seeth it perceiveth it, scarcely is it in his hand, he swalloweth it down.
4 a bydd blodau gwyw eu haddurn gogoneddus ar ben y beilchion bras fel ffigysen gynnar cyn yr haf; pan wl rhywun hi fe'i llynca gyda'i bod yn ei law.
5In that day will Jehovah of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the remnant of his people;
5 Yn y dydd hwnnw bydd ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd yn goron odidog, yn dorch brydferth i weddill ei bobl,
6and for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
6 yn ysbryd tegwch i'r sawl sy'n eistedd mewn barn, ac yn gadernid i'r sawl sy'n troi'r rhyfel draw o'r porth.
7But these also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are they gone astray. The priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink; they are overpowered by wine, they are gone astray through strong drink; they have erred in vision, they have stumbled [in] judgment.
7 Ond y mae eraill sy'n simsan gan win, ac yn gwegian yn eu diod; y mae'r offeiriad a'r proffwyd yn simsan yn eu diod, ac wedi drysu gan win; y maent yn gwegian mewn diod, yn simsan yn eu gweledigaeth, ac yn baglu yn eu dyfarniad.
8For all tables are full of filthy vomit, so that there is no [more] place.
8 Y mae pob bwrdd yn un chwydfa; nid oes unman heb fudreddi.
9Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand the report? Them that are weaned from the milk, withdrawn from the breasts?
9 "Pwy y mae'n ceisio'i ddysgu, ac i bwy y mae am roi gwers? Ai rhai newydd eu diddyfnu a'u tynnu oddi wrth y fron?
10For [it is] precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little. ...
10 Y mae fel dysgu sillafu: 'o s' am 'os', 'o s' am 'os'; 'a c' am 'ac', 'a c' am 'ac' gair bach yma, gair bach draw."
11For with stammering lips and a strange tongue will he speak to this people;
11 Yn wir, trwy iaith estron a thafod dieithr y lleferir wrth y bobl hyn,
12to whom he said, This is the rest: cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing. But they would not hear.
12 y rhai y dywedodd wrthynt, "Dyma'r orffwysfa, rhowch orffwys i'r lluddedig, dyma'r esmwythfa" ond ni fynnent wrando.
13And the word of Jehovah was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little: that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
13 Ond dyma air yr ARGLWYDD iddynt: "Mater o ddysgu sillafu yw hi: 'o s' am 'os', 'o s' am 'os'; 'a c' am 'ac', 'a c' am 'ac' gair bach yma, gair bach draw." Felly, wrth fynd ymlaen, fe syrthiant yn l, a'u clwyfo, a'u baglu a'u dal.
14Therefore hear the word of Jehovah, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
14 Am hynny, gwrandewch air yr ARGLWYDD, chwi wu375?r gwatwarus, penaethiaid y bobl hyn sydd yn Jerwsalem.
15For ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol have we made an agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves.
15 Yr ydych chwi'n dweud, "Gwnaethom gyfamod ag angau a chynghrair Sheol: pan fydd y ffrewyll lethol yn mynd heibio, ni fydd yn cyffwrdd ni, am inni wneud celwydd yn noddfa inni a cheisio lloches mewn twyll."
16Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I lay for foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner-stone, a sure foundation: he that trusteth shall not make haste.
16 Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD Dduw: "Wele fi'n gosod carreg sylfaen yn Seion, maen a brofwyd, conglfaen gwerthfawr, sylfaen safadwy; ni frysia'r sawl sy'n credu.
17And I will appoint judgment for a line, and righteousness for a plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding-place.
17 Gwnaf farn yn llinyn mesur, a chyfiawnder yn blymen; bydd y cenllysg yn ysgubo ymaith eich noddfa celwydd, a'r dyfroedd yn boddi eich lloches;
18And your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, ye shall be trodden down by it.
18 diddymir eich cyfamod ag angau, ac ni saif eich cynghrair Sheol. Pan 'r ffrewyll lethol heibio cewch eich mathru dani.
19As it passeth through it shall take you; for morning by morning shall it pass through, by day and by night; and it shall be terror only to understand the report.
19 Bob tro y daw heibio, fe'ch tery; y naill fore ar l y llall fe ddaw, liw dydd a liw nos." Ni fydd namyn dychryn i'r sawl a ddeall y wers.
20For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on, and the covering too narrow when he would wrap himself in it.
20 Y mae'r gwely'n rhy fyr i rywun ymestyn ynddo, a'r cwrlid yn rhy gul i'w blygu amdano.
21For Jehovah will rise up as on mount Perazim, he will be moved with anger as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his strange work, and perform his act, his unwonted act.
21 Bydd yr ARGLWYDD yn codi fel ar Fynydd Perasim, ac yn bwrw ei ddicter fel yn nyffryn Gibeon, i orffen ei waith, ei ddieithr waith, ac i gyflawni ei orchwyl, ei estron orchwyl.
22Now therefore be ye not scorners, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard from the Lord Jehovah of hosts a consumption, and [one] determined, upon the whole land.
22 Yn awr, peidiwch 'ch gwatwar, rhag i'r rhwymau dynhau amdanoch, canys clywais gyhoeddi diwedd a therfyn ar yr holl wlad gan Arglwydd DDUW y Lluoedd.
23Give ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
23 Clywch, gwrandewch arnaf, rhowch sylw, a gwrandewch ar fy ngeiriau.
24Doth the ploughman plough all day to sow? Is he [all day] opening and breaking the clods of his land?
24 A fydd yr arddwr yn aredig trwy'r dydd ar gyfer hau, trwy'r dydd yn torri'r tir ac yn ei lyfnu?
25Doth he not, when he hath levelled the face thereof, cast abroad dill, and scatter cummin, and set the wheat in rows, and the barley in an appointed place, and the rye in its border?
25 Oni fydd, ar l lefelu'r wyneb, yn taenu ffenigl ac yn gwasgaru cwmin, yn hau gwenith a haidd, a cheirch ar y dalar?
26His God doth instruct him in [his] judgment, he doth teach him.
26 Y mae ei Dduw yn ei hyfforddi ac yn ei ddysgu'n iawn.
27For the dill is not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart-wheel turned about upon the cummin; but dill is beaten out with a staff, and cummin with a rod.
27 Nid llusgen y dyrnir ffenigl, ac ni throir olwyn men ar gwmin; ond dyrnir ffenigl ffon, a'r cwmin gwialen.
28Bread [corn] is crushed, because he will not ever be threshing it; and if he drove the wheels of his cart and his horses [over it], he would not crush it.
28 Fe felir u375?d i gael bara, ac nid yw'r dyrnwr yn ei falu'n ddiddiwedd; er gyrru olwyn men drosto, ni chaiff y meirch ei fathru.
29This also cometh forth from Jehovah of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel, great in wisdom.
29 Daw hyn hefyd oddi wrth ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd; y mae ei gyngor yn rhyfeddol a'i allu'n fawr.
