1In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, came this word from Jehovah, saying,
1 Yn nechrau teyrnasiad Jehoiacim fab Joseia, brenin Jwda, daeth y gair hwn oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD:
2Thus saith Jehovah: Stand in the court of Jehovah's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in Jehovah's house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them: diminish not a word.
2 "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Saf yng nghyntedd tu375?'r ARGLWYDD a phan ddaw holl ddinasoedd Jwda i addoli yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD, llefara wrthynt yr holl eiriau a orchmynnaf, heb atal gair.
3Peradventure they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do unto them because of the wickedness of their doings.
3 Efallai y gwrandawant, a dychwelyd, pob un o'i ffordd ddrwg, a minnau'n newid fy meddwl am y drwg a fwriedais iddynt oherwydd eu gweithredoedd drygionus.
4And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah: If ye will not hearken unto me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
4 Dywed wrthynt, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Os na wrandewch arnaf, a rhodio yn l fy nghyfraith a rois o'ch blaen,
5to hearken unto the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent unto you, even rising early and sending [them], but ye have not hearkened,
5 a gwrando ar eiriau fy ngweision y proffwydi a anfonaf atoch fel y gwnaed yn gyson, a chwithau heb wrando
6-- then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.
6 yna gwnaf y tu375? hwn fel Seilo, a'r ddinas hon yn felltith i holl genhedloedd y ddaear.'"
7And the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Jehovah.
7 Clywodd yr offeiriaid a'r proffwydi a'r holl bobl Jeremeia yn llefaru'r geiriau hyn yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD.
8And it came to pass when Jeremiah had ended speaking all that Jehovah had commanded [him] to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, Thou shalt certainly die.
8 Pan orffennodd fynegi'r cyfan a orch-mynnodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth yr holl bobl, daliodd yr offeiriaid a'r proffwydi a'r holl bobl ef, a dweud, "Rhaid iti farw;
9Why hast thou prophesied in the name of Jehovah, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.
9 pam y proffwydaist yn enw'r ARGLWYDD a dweud, 'Bydd y tu375? hwn fel Seilo, a gwneir y ddinas hon yn anghyfannedd, heb breswylydd'?" Yna ymgasglodd yr holl bobl o gwmpas Jeremeia yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD.
10And the princes of Judah heard these things; and they went up from the king's house unto the house of Jehovah, and sat in the entry of the new gate of Jehovah.
10 Pan glywodd tywysogion Jwda am hyn, daethant i fyny o du375?'r brenin i du375?'r ARGLWYDD, ac eistedd yn nrws porth newydd tu375?'r ARGLWYDD.
11And the priests and the prophets spoke unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die, for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
11 Dywedodd yr offeiriaid a'r proffwydi wrth y tywysogion ac wrth yr holl bobl, "Y mae'r gu373?r hwn yn haeddu cosb marwolaeth, oherwydd proffwydodd yn erbyn y ddinas hon, fel y clywsoch chwi eich hunain."
12And Jeremiah spoke to all the princes and to all the people, saying, Jehovah sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.
12 Yna llefarodd Jeremeia wrth yr holl dywysogion a'r holl bobl, gan ddweud, "Yr ARGLWYDD a'm hanfonodd i broffwydo yn erbyn y tu375? hwn a'r ddinas hon yr holl eiriau a glywsoch.
13And now, amend your ways and your doings, and hearken to the voice of Jehovah your God; and Jehovah will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
13 Yn awr, gwellhewch eich ffyrdd a'ch gweithredoedd, a gwrandewch ar lais yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw, ac fe newidia'r ARGLWYDD ei feddwl am y drwg a lefarodd yn eich erbyn.
14But as for me, behold, I am in your hand; do unto me as seemeth good and right in your eyes:
14 Amdanaf fi, dyma fi yn eich dwylo; gwnewch i mi fel y gwelwch yn dda ac uniawn.
15only know for certain that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof; for of a truth Jehovah hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
15 Ond gwybyddwch yn sicr, os lladdwch fi, y byddwch yn dwyn arnoch eich hunain, ac ar y ddinas hon a'i thrigolion, waed dyn dieuog. Yn wir, yr ARGLWYDD sydd wedi fy anfon atoch i lefaru'r holl eiriau hyn yn eich clyw."
16And the princes and all the people said unto the priests and to the prophets, This man is not worthy to die; for he hath spoken to us in the name of Jehovah our God.
16 Dywedodd y tywysogion a'r holl bobl wrth yr offeiriaid a'r proffwydi, "Nid yw'r gu373?r hwn yn haeddu cosb marwolaeth, oherwydd yn enw'r ARGLWYDD ein Duw y llefarodd wrthym."
17And there rose up certain of the elders of the land and spoke to all the congregation of the people, saying,
17 Yna cododd rhai o blith henuriaid y wlad a dweud wrth holl gynulleidfa'r bobl,
18Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Zion shall be ploughed [as] a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
18 "Bu Micha o Moreseth yn proffwydo yn nyddiau Heseceia brenin Jwda, a dywedodd wrth holl bobl Jwda, 'Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd: Bydd Seion yn faes wedi ei aredig, a Jerwsalem yn garneddau, a mynydd y deml yn fynydd-dir coediog.'
19Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? Did he not fear Jehovah, and supplicate Jehovah, and Jehovah repented him of the evil that he had pronounced against them? And we should be doing a great evil against our souls.
19 A laddwyd ef gan Heseceia brenin Jwda a holl Jwda? Onid ofnodd ef yr ARGLWYDD a cheisio ffafr yr ARGLWYDD, ac oni newidiodd yr ARGLWYDD ei feddwl am y drwg a lefarodd yn eu herbyn? Ond dyma ni am wneud drwg mawr i ni ein hunain."
20And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim: and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah;
20 A bu gu373?r arall hefyd yn proffwydo yn enw'r ARGLWYDD, Ureia fab Semaia o Ciriath-jearim. Proffwydodd yn union yr un peth Jeremeia yn erbyn y ddinas hon a'r wlad hon.
21and Jehoiakim the king, and all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, and the king sought to put him to death; but Urijah heard it, and he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt.
21 Clywodd y Brenin Jehoiacim a'i holl osgordd a'i dywysogion ei eiriau, a cheisiodd y brenin ei ladd. Pan glywodd Ureia, fe ofnodd a ffoi i'r Aifft.
22And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and men with him, into Egypt;
22 Yna anfonodd Jehoiacim wu375?r i'r Aifft, sef Elnathan fab Achbor a gwu375?r eraill;
23and they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king; and he slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the children of the people.
23 a daethant i'r Aifft, a chyrchu Ureia oddi yno a'i ddwyn at y Brenin Jehoiacim; lladdodd yntau ef 'r cleddyf, a thaflu ei gorff i fynwent y bobl gyffredin.
24-- Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
24 Yr oedd Ahicam fab Saffan o blaid Jeremeia, fel na roddwyd ef yng ngafael y bobl i'w ladd.
