1And it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the royal seed, and [one] of the king's chief men, and ten men with him, came to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam unto Mizpah, and there they ate bread together, in Mizpah.

2And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah arose, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and killed him, whom the king of Babylon had appointed over the land.
2 cododd Ismael fab Nethaneia a'r dengwr, a tharo Gedaleia fab Ahicam, fab Saffan, �'r cleddyf, a lladd yr un oedd wedi ei osod gan frenin Babilon yn arolygydd dros y wlad.
3And Ishmael smote all the Jews that were with him, with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans that were found there, the men of war.
3 Hefyd lladdodd Ismael yr holl Iddewon oedd gyda Gedaleia yn Mispa, a milwyr y Caldeaid a oedd yn digwydd bod yno.
4And it came to pass the second day after he had killed Gedaliah, and no man knew it,
4 Trannoeth wedi lladd Gedaleia, cyn bod neb yn gwybod,
5that there came men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, eighty men, having their beards shaven and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves; with oblations and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of Jehovah.
5 daeth gwu375?r o Sichem a Seilo a Samaria, pedwar ugain ohonynt, wedi eillio'u barfau a rhwygo'u dillad ac archolli eu cyrff, � bwyd-offrymau a thus yn eu dwylo i'w dwyn i deml yr ARGLWYDD.
6And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went; and it came to pass when he met them, he said unto them, Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.
6 Yna daeth Ismael fab Nethaneia allan o Mispa i gyfarfod � hwy, gan wylo wrth ddod. Pan gyfarfu � hwy dywedodd, "Dewch at Gedaleia fab Ahicam."
7And it was so, when they came into the midst of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, he and the men that were with him, slew them, [and cast them] into the midst of the pit.
7 Wedi iddynt gyrraedd canol y ddinas, lladdwyd hwy gan Ismael fab Nethaneia a'r gwu375?r oedd gydag ef, a'u bwrw i bydew.
8But ten men were found among them that said unto Ishmael, Do not kill us, for we have hidden stores in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey. So he forbore, and did not kill them among their brethren.
8 Ond dywedodd deg o ddynion o'u plith wrth Ismael, "Paid �'n lladd ni, oherwydd y mae gennym yn y maes gronfa gudd o wenith a haidd ac olew a m�l." Felly ni laddwyd y rhain gyda'u cymdeithion.
9And the pit into which Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had slain by the side of Gedaliah was the one which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel: Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with the slain.
9 Y pydew yr oedd y Brenin Asa wedi ei gloddio pan fygythiwyd ef gan Baasa brenin Israel oedd yr un y bwriodd Ismael iddo holl gelaneddau'r gwu375?r yr oedd wedi eu lladd trwy eu twyllo ag enw Gedaleia. Llanwodd Ismael fab Nethaneia y pydew �'r lladdedigion.
10And Ishmael carried away captive all the remnant of the people that were in Mizpah, the king's daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzar-adan the captain of the body-guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam: Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the children of Ammon.
10 Yna daliodd Ismael holl weddill y bobl oedd yn Mispa, sef merched y brenin a'r holl bobl oedd wedi eu gadael yn Mispa pan osododd Nebusaradan, pennaeth y gwylwyr, Gedaleia fab Ahicam yn arolygydd drostynt. Daliodd Ismael fab Nethaneia hwy, a chychwynnodd fynd drosodd at yr Ammoniaid.
11And Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done;
11 Pan glywodd Johanan fab Carea, a holl swyddogion y lluoedd arfog oedd gydag ef, am yr holl ddrwg yr oedd Ismael fab Nethaneia wedi ei wneud,
12and they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are at Gibeon.
12 cymerasant gyda hwy eu holl wu375?r i ymladd yn erbyn Ismael fab Nethaneia, a daethant o hyd iddo wrth y pwll mawr yn Gibeon.
13And it came to pass when all the people that were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, then they were glad.
13 Llawenychodd yr holl bobl oedd gydag Ismael pan welsant Johanan fab Carea a holl swyddogion ei luoedd,
14And all the people that Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah turned about and came back, and went to Johanan the son of Kareah.
14 a dyna'r holl bobl yr oedd Ismael wedi eu dwyn yn gaeth o Mispa yn troi ac yn mynd drosodd at Johanan fab Carea.
15But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the children of Ammon.
15 Ond dihangodd Ismael fab Nethaneia, ac wyth o ddynion gydag ef, oddi wrth Johanan, a mynd drosodd at yr Ammoniaid.
16Then Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, took all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after he had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from Gibeon;
16 Yna cymerodd Johanan fab Carea a swyddogion ei luoedd bawb oedd ar �l o'r bobl yr oedd Ismael fab Nethaneia wedi eu dwyn o Mispa, ar �l iddo ladd Gedaleia fab Ahicam. Dygodd ef yn �l o Gibeon ddynion a gwu375?r rhyfel, gwragedd a phlant ac eunuchiaid.
17and they departed, and dwelt at Geruth-Chimham, which is by Bethlehem, to go to enter into Egypt,
17 Aethant oddi yno ac aros yn llety Chimham, yn ymyl Bethlehem, ar eu ffordd wrth ffoi i'r Aifft
18because of the Chaldeans; for they feared them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had smitten Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had appointed over the land.
