50

1The word that Jehovah spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, through Jeremiah the prophet.
1 Dyma'r gair a lefarodd yr ARGLWYDD am Fabilon, gwlad y Caldeaid, trwy'r proffwyd Jeremeia:
2Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and lift up a banner; publish, conceal not! Say, Babylon is taken, Bel is put to shame, Merodach is dismayed: her images are put to shame, her idols are dismayed.
2 "Mynegwch ymysg y cenhedloedd, a chyhoeddwch; codwch faner a chyhoeddwch; peidiwch chelu ond dywedwch, 'Goresgynnwyd Babilon, gwaradwyddwyd Bel, brawychwyd Merodach. Daeth cywilydd dros ei heilunod a drylliwyd ei delwau.'
3For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: both man and beast are fled; they are gone.
3 Canys daeth cenedl yn ei herbyn o'r gogledd; gwna ei gwlad yn anghyfannedd, ac ni thrig ynddi na dyn nac anifail. Ffoesant ac aethant ymaith."
4In those days, and at that time, saith Jehovah, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping as they go, and shall seek Jehovah their God.
4 "Yn y dyddiau hynny a'r amser hwnnw," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "daw pobl Israel a phobl Jwda ynghyd gan wylo, i ymofyn am yr ARGLWYDD eu Duw.
5They shall inquire concerning Zion, with their faces thitherward, [saying,] Come, and let us join ourselves to Jehovah, in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten.
5 Holant am Seion, i droi eu hwyneb tuag yno, a dweud, 'Dewch, glynwn wrth yr ARGLWYDD mewn cyfamod tragwyddol nas anghofir.'
6My people are lost sheep; their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they turned them away on the mountains: they went from mountain to hill, they forgot their resting-place.
6 "Praidd ar ddisberod oedd fy mhobl; gyrrodd eu bugeiliaid hwy ar gyfeiliorn, a'u troi ymaith ar y mynyddoedd; crwydrasant o fynydd i fryn, gan anghofio'u corlan.
7All that found them devoured them, and their adversaries said, We are not guilty, because they have sinned against Jehovah, the habitation of righteousness, even Jehovah, the hope of their fathers.
7 Yr oedd pob un a ddi o hyd iddynt yn eu difa, a'u gelynion yn dweud, 'Nid oes dim bai arnom ni, oherwydd y maent wedi pechu yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD, eu gwir gynefin yr ARGLWYDD, gobaith eu hynafiaid.'
8Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he-goats before the flock.
8 "Ffowch o ganol Babilon, ewch allan o wlad y Caldeaid, a safwch fel y bychod o flaen y praidd;
9For behold, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon, an assemblage of great nations from the north country; and they shall set themselves in array against her: from thence shall she be taken. Their arrows shall be as those of a mighty expert man: none shall return empty.
9 canys wele fi'n cynhyrfu ac yn arwain yn erbyn Babilon dyrfa o genhedloedd mawrion o dir y gogledd; safant yn rhengoedd yn ei herbyn; ac oddi yno y goresgynnir hi. Y mae eu saethau fel rhai milwr cyfarwydd na ddychwel yn waglaw.
10And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all the spoilers thereof shall be satiated, saith Jehovah.
10 Ysbail fydd Caldea, a chaiff ei holl ysbeilwyr eu gwala," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
11For ye rejoiced, for ye triumphed, ye plunderers of my heritage; for ye have been wanton as the heifer at grass, and neighed as steeds.
11 "Chwi, y rhai sy'n mathru f'etifeddiaeth, er ichwi lawenhau, er ichwi orfoleddu, er ichwi brancio fel llo mewn porfa, er ichwi weryru fel meirch,
12Your mother hath been sorely put to shame; she that bore you hath been covered with reproach: behold, [she is become] hindmost of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
12 caiff eich mam ei chywilyddio'n ddirfawr, a gwaradwyddir yr un a roes enedigaeth ichwi. Ie, bydd yn wehilion y cenhedloedd, yn anialwch, yn grastir ac yn ddiffeithwch.
13Because of the wrath of Jehovah, it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate; every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and shall hiss, because of all her plagues.
13 Oherwydd digofaint yr ARGLWYDD, ni phreswylir hi, ond bydd yn anghyfannedd i gyd; bydd pawb sy'n mynd heibio i Fabilon yn arswydo ac yn synnu at ei holl glwyfau.
14Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about, all ye that bend the bow; shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against Jehovah.
14 "Trefnwch eich rhengoedd yn gylch yn erbyn Babilon, bawb sy'n tynnu bwa; ergydiwch ati, heb arbed saethau, canys yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD y pechodd.
15Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand; her ramparts are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for this is the vengeance of Jehovah. Take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.
15 Bloeddiwch yn ei herbyn mewn goruchafiaeth, o bob cyfeiriad: 'Gwnaeth arwydd o ymostyngiad, cwympodd ei hamddiffynfeydd, bwriwyd ei muriau i lawr.' Gan mai dial yr ARGLWYDD yw hyn, dialwch arni; megis y gwnaeth hi, gwnewch iddi hithau.
16Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest. For fear of the oppressing sword let them turn every one to his people, and let them flee every one to his own land.
16 Torrwch ymaith o Fabilon yr heuwr, a'r sawl sy'n trin cryman ar adeg medi. Rhag cleddyf y gorthrymwr bydd pob un yn troi at ei bobl ei hun, a phob un yn ffoi i'w wlad.
17Israel is a hunted sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria devoured him, and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.
17 "Praidd ar wasgar yw Israel, a'r llewod yn eu hymlid. Brenin Asyria a'u hysodd gyntaf, yna Nebuchadnesar brenin Babilon yn olaf oll a gnodd eu hesgyrn.
18Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will visit the king of Babylon and his land, like as I have visited the king of Assyria.
18 Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, Duw Israel: 'Yr wyf am gosbi brenin Babilon, a'i wlad, fel y cosbais frenin Asyria.
19And I will bring Israel again to his pasture, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and in Gilead.
19 Ac adferaf Israel i'w borfa, ac fe bora ar Garmel ac yn Basan; digonir ei chwant ar fynydd-dir Effraim a Gilead.
20In those days, and at that time, saith Jehovah, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon those whom I leave remaining.
20 Yn y dyddiau hynny a'r amser hwnnw,' medd yr ARGLWYDD, 'yn ofer y ceisir drygioni Israel, ac ni cheir pechod Jwda; oherwydd maddeuaf i'r rhai a adawaf yn weddill.'
21Go up against the land of double rebellion, against it, and against the inhabitants of visitation; waste and utterly destroy after them, saith Jehovah, and do according to all that I have commanded thee.
21 "Dos i fyny yn erbyn gwlad Merathaim, ac yn erbyn trigolion Pecod; anrheithia hi, difetha hi'n llwyr," medd yr ARGLWYDD. "Gwna yn l yr hyn oll a orchmynnaf i ti.
22A sound of battle is in the land, and great destruction.
22 Clyw! Rhyfel yn y wlad! Dinistr mawr!
23How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! How is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!
23 Gwl fel y drylliwyd gordd yr holl ddaear, ac y torrwyd hi'n dipiau. Gwl fel yr aeth Babilon yn syndod ymhlith y cenhedloedd.
24I have laid a snare for thee, and thou, Babylon, art also taken, and thou wast not aware; thou art found, and also caught, for thou hast contended with Jehovah.
24 Gosodais fagl i ti, Babilon, a daliwyd di heb yn wybod iti; fe'th gafwyd ac fe'th ddaliwyd am iti ymryson yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD.
25Jehovah hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation; for this is a work for the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, in the land of the Chaldeans.
25 Agorodd yr ARGLWYDD ei ystordy, a dwyn allan arfau ei ddigofaint; oherwydd gwaith ARGLWYDD Dduw y Lluoedd yw hyn yng ngwlad y Caldeaid.
26Come ye against her from every quarter, open her storehouses; pile her up like sheaves, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.
26 Dewch yn ei herbyn o'r cwr eithaf, ac agorwch ei hysguboriau hi; gwnewch bentwr ohoni fel pentwr u375?d, a'i difetha'n llwyr, heb weddill iddi.
27Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.
27 Lladdwch ei holl fustych hi, a gadael iddynt ddisgyn i'r lladdfa. Gwae hwy! Daeth eu dydd, ac amser eu cosbi.
28The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of Jehovah our God, the vengeance of his temple.
28 Clyw! Y maent yn ffoi ac yn dianc o wlad Babilon, i gyhoeddi yn Seion ddial yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw, ei ddial am ei deml.
29Call together the archers against Babylon, all those that bend the bow: encamp against her round about; let there be no escaping: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath acted proudly against Jehovah, against the Holy One of Israel.
29 "Galwch y saethwyr yn erbyn Babilon, pob un sy'n tynnu bwa; gwersyllwch yn ei herbyn o amgylch, rhag i neb ddianc ohoni. Talwch iddi yn l ei gweithred, ac yn l y cwbl a wnaeth gwnewch iddi hithau; canys bu'n drahaus yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD, yn erbyn Sanct Israel.
30Therefore shall her young men fall in her streets; and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith Jehovah.
30 Am hynny fe syrth ei gwu375?r ifainc yn ei heolydd, a dinistrir ei holl filwyr y dydd hwnnw," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
31Behold, I am against thee, proud one, saith the Lord Jehovah of hosts; for thy day is come, the time that I visit thee:
31 "Dyma fi yn dy erbyn di, yr un balch," medd yr ARGLWYDD, Duw'r Lluoedd, "canys daeth dy ddydd, a'r awr i mi dy gosbi.
32and the proud one shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up; yea, I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all that are round about him.
32 Tramgwydda'r balch a syrth heb neb i'w godi; cyneuaf yn ei ddinasoedd dn fydd yn difa'i holl amgylchedd."
33Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: The children of Israel and the children of Judah were together oppressed; and all that took them captives held them fast: they refused to let them go.
33 Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd: "Gorthrymwyd pobl Israel, a phobl Jwda gyda hwy; daliwyd hwy'n dynn gan bawb a'u caethiwodd, a gwrthod eu gollwng.
34Their Redeemer is strong; Jehovah of hosts is his name: he will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
34 Ond y mae eu Gwaredwr yn gryf; ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd yw ei enw. Bydd ef yn dadlau eu hachos yn gadarn, ac yn dwyn llonydd i'w wlad, ond aflonyddwch i breswylwyr Babilon.
35The sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith Jehovah, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men;
35 "Cleddyf ar y Caldeaid," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "ar breswylwyr Babilon, ar ei swyddogion a'i gwu375?r doeth!
36the sword is upon the liars, and they shall become fools; the sword is upon her mighty men, and they shall be dismayed;
36 Cleddyf ar ei dewiniaid, iddynt fynd yn ynfydion! Cleddyf ar ei gwu375?r cedyrn, iddynt gael eu difetha!
37the sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her, and they shall become as women; the sword is upon her treasures, and they shall be robbed:
37 Cleddyf ar ei meirch a'i cherbydau, ac ar y milwyr cyflog yn ei chanol, iddynt fod fel merched! Cleddyf ar ei holl drysorau, iddynt gael eu hysbeilio!
38a drought is upon her waters, and they shall be dried up; for it is a land of graven images, and they are mad after frightful idols.
38 Cleddyf ar ei dyfroedd, iddynt sychu! Oherwydd gwlad delwau yw hi, wedi ynfydu ar eilunod.
39Therefore wild beasts of the desert with jackals shall dwell there, and ostriches shall dwell therein; and it shall be no more inhabited for ever, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.
39 "Am hynny bydd anifeiliaid yr anialdir a'r hiena yn trigo yno, a'r estrys yn cael cartref yno; ni fydd neb yn preswylio yno mwyach, ac nis cyfanheddir o genhedlaeth i genhedlaeth.
40As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and their neighbour cities, saith Jehovah, no one shall dwell there, neither shall a son of man sojourn therein.
40 Fel y dymchwelodd Duw Sodom a Gomorra a'u cymdogaeth," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "felly ni fydd neb yn byw yno, nac unrhyw un yn tramwyo ynddi.
41Behold, a people cometh from the north, and a great nation. And many kings shall arise from the uttermost parts of the earth.
41 "Wele, y mae pobl yn dod o'r gogledd cenedl fawr a brenhinoedd lawer yn ymysgwyd o bellteroedd byd.
42They lay hold of bow and spear; they are cruel, and will not shew mercy; their voice roareth like the sea, and they ride upon horses -- set in array like a man for the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.
42 Gafaelant yn y bwa a'r waywffon; y maent yn greulon a didostur; y mae eu twrf fel y mr yn rhuo; marchogant ar feirch, a dod yn rhengoedd fel gwu375?r i ryfel yn dy erbyn di, ferch Babilon.
43The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands wax feeble; trouble hath taken hold of him, pangs as of a woman in travail.
43 Clywodd brenin Babilon sn amdanynt, ac aeth ei ddwylo'n llesg; daliwyd ef gan wasgfa, a gwewyr fel eiddo gwraig wrth esgor.
44Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will make him suddenly run away from it; and who is a chosen [man] whom I may appoint over her? For who is like me? and who will assign me a time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
44 "Wele, fel llew'n dod i fyny o wlad wyllt yr Iorddonen i'r borfa barhaol, fe'u hymlidiaf ymaith yn ddisymwth oddi wrthi. Pwy a ddewisaf i'w osod drosti? Oherwydd pwy sydd fel myfi? Pwy a'm geilw i i gyfrif? Pwy yw'r bugail a saif o'm blaen i?
45Therefore hear the counsel of Jehovah, which he hath taken against Babylon, and his purposes which he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: The little ones of the flock shall certainly draw them away; he shall certainly make their habitation desolate for them.
45 Am hynny, clywch yr hyn a fwriadodd yr ARGLWYDD yn erbyn Babilon, a'i gynlluniau yn erbyn gwlad y Caldeaid. Yn ddiau fe lusgir ymaith hyd yn oed y lleiaf o'r praidd; yn wir bydd eu porfeydd yn arswydo o'u plegid.
46At the sound of the taking of Babylon the earth hath quaked, and the cry is heard among the nations.
46 Bydd y ddaear yn crynu gan su373?n dal Babilon; clywir ei chri ymhlith y cenhedloedd."
