1Oh that my head were waters, and mine eye a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
1 O na bai fy mhen yn ddyfroedd, a'm llygaid yn ffynnon o ddagrau! Wylwn ddydd a nos am laddedigion merch fy mhobl.
2Oh that I had in the wilderness a traveller's lodging-place, that I might leave my people, and go away from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
2 O na bai gennyf yn yr anialwch lety fforddolion! Gadawn fy mhobl, a mynd i ffwrdd oddi wrthynt. Canys y maent oll yn odinebwyr, ac yn gwmni o dwyllwyr.
3And they bend their tongue, their bow of falsehood, and not for fidelity are they valiant in the land; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith Jehovah.
3 "Plygasant eu tafod, fel bwa, i gelwydd; ac nid ar bwys gwirionedd yr aethant yn gryf yn y wlad. Aethant o un drwg i'r llall, ac nid ydynt yn fy adnabod i," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
4Take ye heed every one of his friend, and confide not in any brother; for every brother only supplanteth, and every friend goeth about with slander.
4 "Gocheled pob un ei gymydog, ac na rodded neb goel ar ei berthynas; canys yn sicr disodlwr yw pob perthynas, ac enllibiwr yw pob cymydog.
5And they act deceitfully every one with his neighbour, and speak not the truth: they teach their tongue to speak falsehood, they weary themselves with perverse dealing.
5 Y mae pob un yn twyllo'i gymydog, heb ddweud y gwir; dysgodd i'w dafod ddweud celwydd, troseddodd, ac ymflino nes methu edifarhau.
6Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith Jehovah.
6 Pentyrrant ormes ar ormes, twyll ar dwyll; gwrthodant fy adnabod i," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
7Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how else could I do for the daughter of my people?
7 Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd: "Rwyf am eu toddi a'u puro hwy. Beth arall a wnaf o achos merch fy mhobl?
8Their tongue is a murderous arrow; it speaketh deceit. [A man] speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in his heart he layeth his ambush.
8 Saeth yn lladd yw eu tafod; y mae'n llefaru'n dwyllodrus. Y mae'n traethu heddwch wrth ei gymydog, ond yn ei galon yn gosod cynllwyn iddo.
9Shall I not visit them for these [things]? saith Jehovah; shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
9 Onid ymwelaf hwy am y pethau hyn?" medd yr ARGLWYDD. "Oni ddialaf ar y fath genedl hon?
10For the mountains will I take up weeping and wailing, and for the pastures of the wilderness, a lamentation; for they are burnt up, so that none passeth through them; and the voice of the cattle is not heard. Both the fowl of the heavens and the beasts are fled; they are gone.
10 Codaf wylofain a chwynfan am y mynyddoedd, a galarnad am lanerchau'r anialwch; canys y maent wedi eu dinistrio fel nad neb heibio, ac ni chlywant fref y gwartheg; y mae adar y nef a'r anifeiliaid hefyd wedi ffoi ymaith.
11And I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling-place of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.
11 Gwnaf Jerwsalem yn garneddau ac yn drigfan bleiddiaid; a gwnaf ddinasoedd Jwda yn ddiffeithwch heb breswylydd."
12Who is a wise man, that he may understand this? and he to whom the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land perished, burnt up like a wilderness, so that none passeth through?
12 Pwy sy'n ddigon doeth i ddeall hyn? Wrth bwy y traethodd genau yr ARGLWYDD, er mwyn iddo fynegi? Pam y dinistriwyd y tir, a'i ddifa fel anialwch heb neb yn ei dramwyo?
13And Jehovah saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not hearkened unto my voice, nor walked in it,
13 Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD, "Am iddynt wrthod fy nghyfraith a roddais o'u blaen hwy, heb ei dilyn a heb wrando ar fy llais,
14but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baals, as their fathers taught them;
14 ond rhodio yn l ystyfnigrwydd eu calon, a dilyn Baalim, fel y dysgodd eu hynafiaid iddynt,
15therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will feed this people with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink,
15 am hynny fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, Duw Israel: Wele, bwydaf y bobl hyn wermod, a'u diodi du373?r gwenwynig.
16and will scatter them among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them.
16 Gwasgaraf hwy ymysg cenhedloedd nad ydynt hwy na'u hynafiaid wedi eu hadnabod, ac anfonaf gleddyf ar eu hl nes gorffen eu difetha."
17Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come, and send for the skilful women, that they may come;
17 Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd: "Ystyriwch! Galwch ar y galar-wragedd i ddod; anfonwch am y gwragedd medrus, iddynt hwythau ddod.
18and let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids pour forth waters.
18 Bydded iddynt frysio, a chodi cwynfan amdanom, er mwyn i'n llygaid ollwng dagrau, a'n hamrannau ddiferu du373?r.
19For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled, sorely put to shame! For we have forsaken the land, for they have cast down our dwellings.
19 Canys clywyd su373?n cwynfan o Seion, 'Pa fodd yr aethom yn anrhaith, a'n gwaradwyddo yn llwyr? Gadawsom ein gwlad, bwriwyd i lawr ein trigfannau.'"
20Hear then the word of Jehovah, ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and each one her companion lamentation.
20 Clywch, wragedd, air yr ARGLWYDD, a derbynied eich clust air ei enau ef. Dysgwch gwynfan i'ch merched, a galargan bawb i'w gilydd.
21For death is come up through our windows, is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from the street, the young men from the broadways.
21 Y mae angau wedi dringo trwy ein ffenestri, a dod i'n palasau, i ysgubo'r plant o'r heolydd a'r rhai ifainc o'r lleoedd agored.
22Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Yea, the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the reaper, and there shall be none to gather.
22 Llefara, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: 'Bydd celaneddau yn disgyn fel tom ar wyneb maes, fel ysgubau ar l y medelwr heb neb i'w cynnull.'"
23Thus saith Jehovah: Let not the wise glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty glory in his might; let not the rich glory in his riches:
23 Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: "Nac ymffrostied y doeth yn ei ddoethineb, na'r cryf yn ei gryfder, na'r cyfoethog yn ei gyfoeth.
24but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] Jehovah, who exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth; for in these things I delight, saith Jehovah.
24 Ond y sawl sy'n ymffrostio, ymffrostied yn hyn: ei fod yn fy neall ac yn fy adnabod i, mai myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD, sy'n gweithredu'n ffyddlon, yn gwneud barn a chyfiawnder ar y ddaear, ac yn ymhyfrydu yn y pethau hyn," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
25Behold, days are coming, saith Jehovah, when I will visit all [them that are] circumcised with the uncircumcised;
25 "Wele'r dyddiau yn dod," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "pan gosbaf bob cenedl enwaededig,
26Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that have the corners [of their beard] cut off, that dwell in the wilderness: for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart.
26 sef yr Aifft, Jwda ac Edom, plant Ammon a Moab, a phawb o drigolion yr anialwch sydd 'u talcennau'n foel. Oherwydd y mae'r holl genhedloedd yn ddienwaededig, a holl du375? Israel heb enwaedu arnynt yn eu calon."
