Luke

16

1And he said also to [his] disciples, There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and *he* was accused to him as wasting his goods.
1 Dywedodd wrth ei ddisgyblion hefyd, "Yr oedd dyn cyfoethog a chanddo oruchwyliwr. Achwynwyd wrth ei feistr fod hwn yn gwastraffu ei eiddo ef.
2And having called him, he said to him, What [is] this that I hear of thee? give the reckoning of thy stewardship, for thou canst be no longer steward.
2 Galwodd ef ato a dweud wrtho, 'Beth yw'r hanes hwn amdanat? Dyro imi gyfrifon dy oruchwyliaeth, oherwydd ni elli gadw dy swydd bellach.'
3And the steward said within himself, What shall I do; for my lord is taking the stewardship from me? I am not able to dig; I am ashamed to beg.
3 Yna meddai'r goruchwyliwr wrtho'i hun, 'Beth a wnaf fi? Y mae fy meistr yn cymryd fy swydd oddi arnaf. Nid oes gennyf mo'r nerth i labro, ac y mae arnaf gywilydd cardota.
4I know what I will do, that when I shall have been removed from the stewardship I may be received into their houses.
4 Fe wn i beth a wnaf i gael croeso i gartrefi pobl pan ddiswyddir fi.'
5And having called to [him] each one of the debtors of his own lord, he said to the first, How much owest thou to my lord?
5 Galwodd ato bob un o ddyledwyr ei feistr, ac meddai wrth y cyntaf, 'Faint sydd arnat i'm meistr?'
6And he said, A hundred baths of oil. And he said to him, Take thy writing and sit down quickly and write fifty.
6 Atebodd yntau, 'Mil o fesurau o olew olewydd.' 'Cymer dy gyfrif,' meddai ef, 'eistedd i lawr, ac ysgrifenna ar unwaith "bum cant."'
7Then he said to another, And thou, how much dost thou owe? And he said, A hundred cors of wheat. And he says to him, Take thy writing and write eighty.
7 Yna meddai wrth un arall, 'A thithau, faint sydd arnat ti?' Atebodd yntau, 'Mil o fesurau o rawn.' 'Cymer dy gyfrif,' meddai ef, 'ac ysgrifenna "wyth gant."'
8And the lord praised the unrighteous steward because he had done prudently. For the sons of this world are, for their own generation, more prudent than the sons of light.
8 Cymeradwyodd y meistr y goruchwyliwr anonest am iddo weithredu yn gall; oherwydd y mae plant y byd hwn yn gallach na phlant y goleuni yn eu hymwneud 'u tebyg.
9And *I* say to you, Make to yourselves friends with the mammon of unrighteousness, that when it fails ye may be received into the eternal tabernacles.
9 Ac rwyf fi'n dweud wrthych, gwnewch gyfeillion i chwi eich hunain o'r Mamon anonest, er mwyn i chwi gael croeso i'r tragwyddol bebyll pan ddaw dydd Mamon i ben.
10He that is faithful in the least is faithful also in much; and he that is unrighteous in the least is unrighteous also in much.
10 Y mae rhywun sy'n gywir yn y pethau lleiaf yn gywir yn y pethau mawr hefyd, a'r un sy'n anonest yn y pethau lleiaf yn anonest yn y pethau mawr hefyd.
11If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who shall entrust to you the true?
11 Gan hynny, os na fuoch yn gywir wrth drin y Mamon anonest, pwy a ymddirieda i chwi y gwir olud?
12and if ye have not been faithful in that which is another's, who shall give to you your own?
12 Ac os na fuoch yn gywir wrth drin eiddo pobl eraill, pwy a rydd i chwi eich eiddo eich hunain?
13No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and will love the other, or he will cleave to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
13 Ni all unrhyw was wasanaethu dau feistr; oherwydd bydd un ai'n casu'r naill ac yn caru'r llall, neu'n deyrngar i'r naill ac yn dirmygu'r llall. Ni allwch wasanaethu Duw a Mamon."
14And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things, and mocked him.
14 Yr oedd y Phariseaid, sy'n bobl ariangar, yn gwrando ar hyn oll ac yn ei watwar.
15And he said to them, *Ye* are they who justify themselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for what amongst men is highly thought of is an abomination before God.
15 Ac meddai wrthynt, "Chwi yw'r rhai sy'n ceisio eu cyfiawnhau eu hunain yng ngolwg y cyhoedd, ond y mae Duw yn adnabod eich calonnau; oherwydd yr hyn sydd aruchel yng ngolwg y cyhoedd, ffieiddbeth yw yng ngolwg Duw.
16The law and the prophets [were] until John: from that time the glad tidings of the kingdom of God are announced, and every one forces his way into it.
16 Y Gyfraith a'r proffwydi oedd mewn grym hyd at Ioan; oddi ar hynny, y mae'r newydd da am deyrnas Dduw yn cael ei gyhoeddi, a phawb yn ceisio mynediad iddi trwy drais.
17But it is easier that the heaven and the earth should pass away than that one tittle of the law should fail.
17 Ond byddai'n haws i'r nef a'r ddaear ddarfod nag i fanylyn lleiaf y Gyfraith golli ei rym.
18Every one who puts away his wife and marries another commits adultery; and every one that marries one put away from a husband commits adultery.
18 Y mae pob un sy'n ysgaru ei wraig ac yn priodi un arall yn godinebu, ac y mae'r dyn sy'n priodi gwraig a ysgarwyd gan ei gu373?r yn godinebu.
19Now there was a rich man and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, making good cheer in splendour every day.
19 "Yr oedd dyn cyfoethog oedd yn arfer gwisgo porffor a lliain main, ac yn gwledda'n wych bob dydd.
20And [there was] a poor man, by name Lazarus, [who] was laid at his gateway full of sores,
20 Wrth ei ddrws gorweddai dyn tlawd, o'r enw Lasarus, yn llawn cornwydydd,
21and desiring to be filled with the crumbs which fell from the table of the rich man; but the dogs also coming licked his sores.
21 ac yn dyheu am wneud pryd o'r hyn a syrthiai oddi ar fwrdd y dyn cyfoethog; ac yn wir byddai'r cu373?n yn dod i lyfu ei gornwydydd.
22And it came to pass that the poor man died, and that he was carried away by the angels into the bosom of Abraham. And the rich man also died and was buried.
22 Bu farw'r dyn tlawd, a dygwyd ef ymaith gan yr angylion i wledda wrth ochr Abraham. Bu farw'r dyn cyfoethog yntau, a chladdwyd ef.
23And in hades lifting up his eyes, being in torments, he sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
23 Yn Hades, ac yntau mewn poen arteithiol, cododd ei lygaid a gweld Abraham o bell, a Lasarus wrth ei ochr.
24And he crying out said, Father Abraham, have compassion on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering in this flame.
24 A galwodd, 'Abraham, fy nhad, trugarha wrthyf; anfon Lasarus i wlychu blaen ei fys mewn du373?r ac i oeri fy nhafod, oherwydd yr wyf mewn ingoedd yn y tn hwn.'
25But Abraham said, Child, recollect that *thou* hast fully received thy good things in thy lifetime, and likewise Lazarus evil things. But now he is comforted here, and *thou* art in suffering.
25 'Fy mhlentyn,' meddai Abraham, 'cofia iti dderbyn dy wynfyd yn ystod dy fywyd, a Lasarus yr un modd ei adfyd; yn awr y mae ef yma yn cael ei ddiddanu, a thithau yn dioddef mewn ingoedd.
26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm is fixed, so that those who desire to pass hence to you cannot, nor do they who [desire to cross] from there pass over unto us.
26 Heblaw hyn oll, rhyngom ni a chwi y mae agendor llydan wedi ei osod, rhag i neb a ddymunai hynny groesi oddi yma atoch chwi, neu gyrraedd oddi yna atom ni.'
27And he said, I beseech thee then, father, that thou wouldest send him to the house of my father,
27 Atebodd ef, 'Os felly, fy nhad, rwy'n erfyn arnat ei anfon ef i du375? fy nhad,
28for I have five brothers, so that he may earnestly testify to them, that they also may not come to this place of torment.
28 at y pum brawd sydd gennyf, i'w rhybuddio am y cyfan, rhag iddynt hwythau ddod i'w harteithio yn y lle hwn.'
29But Abraham says to him, They have Moses and the prophets: let them hear them.
29 Ond dywedodd Abraham, 'Y mae Moses a'r proffwydi ganddynt; dylent wrando arnynt hwy.'
30But he said, Nay, father Abraham, but if one from the dead should go to them, they will repent.
30 'Nage, Abraham, fy nhad,' atebodd ef, 'ond os rhywun atynt oddi wrth y meirw, fe edifarhnt.'
31And he said to him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, not even if one rise from among [the] dead will they be persuaded.
31 Ond meddai ef wrtho, 'Os nad ydynt yn gwrando ar Moses a'r proffwydi, yna ni chnt eu hargyhoeddi hyd yn oed os atgyfoda rhywun o blith y meirw.'"
